Saunders
The Big Ten remains top heavy heading into the 2016 season—but their best teams all reside in the same division. Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State are the class of the conference, and each will have major strengths—as well as a couple flaws—as they battle it out for a spot in the College Football Playoff. The winner of the Big Ten East could be the de facto conference champion, though Iowa put a scare into the Spartans during last season’s conference title game. The Hawkeyes are currently the favorites to repeat as West division champs, though Wisconsin and Nebraska should bounce back from unlucky seasons to pose a greater threat. The Big Ten may not be the deepest conference of the Power 5, but its top teams should play significant roles when it comes to the national title picture. http://www.si.com/college-football/2016/08/17/big-ten-preview-picks-hot-seat-2016 1 Quote Link to comment
Redux
What was "unlucky" about Wisconsin's season? Quote Link to comment
teachercd
What was "unlucky" about Wisconsin's season? Didn't they kind of have a weird game vs Iowa? Where they were inside the 10 a few times and lost the ball? Quote Link to comment
GBRFAN
I think the article just decided to lump NU and Wisc together and the key word for NU was "unlucky", so Wisc got it also - typical article trying to put something out without doing much work Quote Link to comment
Redux
That's how I felt too, comparing the two is inaccurate. They may have had a weird game or two, but we had a whole seasons worth. What it should have said is Nebraska looks to take the next step where Wisconsin may be stepping backwards. 1 Quote Link to comment
Landlord
Wisconsin was two plays away from 12-1. They had a really good season, but they were probably a little closer to 12-1 than they were to 8-5 Quote Link to comment
