BIG ERN
Not having a conference championship since 1999 --- to get one you have to beat conference opponents. The stats are always skewed in college football overall since so many teams have different out of conference opponents (mostly cupcakes). The below stats are the 6 games for in conference play. Scoring Michigan Ohio St Penn St Minnesota Northwestern Indiana Purdue Maryland Michigan St Iowa Nebraska Illinois Wisconsin Rutgers Points Allowed Michigan Wisconsin Ohio St Minnesota Iowa Penn St Nebraska Northwestern Indiana Illinois Maryland Michigan St Rutgers Purdue Passing yards: 8th Passing TD: T-9th Completion %: 13th Sacks allowed: 1st --------------------------------------- Rushing yards: 5th Rushing YPC: 7th Rushing TD: 6th ----------------------------------------- Kickoff returns avg: 5th Punt returns avg: 3rd Net punting: 14th ------------------------------------------ Sacks: T-8th Interceptions: 1st 1 Quote Link to comment

TonyStalloni
Very telling stats. Surprised we are first in INT's but tied for 8th in Sacks. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Very telling stats. Surprised we are first in INT's but tied for 8th in Sacks. Those are defensive stats, right? So we have the most interceptions but not particularly good at getting sacks. Seems right. Quote Link to comment
gossamorharpy
The scoring stats are the most concerning. Our inability to run the ball consistently severely impacts the options in the pass game. I assume our defensive stats just went in the crapper after the beat down this weekend. Always concerning that we didn't have a dominant offensive performance all year- that Wyoming game is very misleading from afar as that was a game until the 4th when we came up with some big turnovers. I can stomach losses to big time programs like ohio state, but this team really needs to get back into the mode of 4 quarters of consistent, effective football, against lesser opponents. We don't need to be leading the nation in scoring but we absolutely need to be in the top 4 within our own conference given our refusal to line up and run the ball. Quote Link to comment
beorach
We're actually third in picks if you only count games against P5 teams. Here's a link to the scoring offense for the B1G (again, just against P5 teams): http://www.cfbstats.com/2016/leader/827/team/offense/split24/category09/sort01.html Quote Link to comment
