HuskermanMike
Domann is playing behind AWilliams. Got it fixed on my list, wasn't sure who was back up safety so I gave Antonio Reed the edge. Domann has had a great spring from what I am hearing, so no surprise there. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
This is the part that is still confusing to me: >>> Joshua Kalu is still at safety. There is no sense that is about to change anytime soon. While deep at that spot, Riley admitted "frankly we're not deep enough at corner" right now and that will be a heavy emphasis of recruiting in this class. But Lamar Jackson continues to work at the top corner spot opposite Chris Jones, and Riley highlighted Eric Lee, working behind Jackson, as starting to make a case for himself this spring. LJS We are not deep at corner but we do have 3 real good options with Jones, Jackson, and Lee. Best 4 is with Kalu at safety bc he is a big upgrade over what is there. If Jackson goes down or we get injuries it would be easy to slide Kalu back to corner and we would still be good to go. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
I can see Benning's point but I'd rather have the best guys out there in our base before we start worriying about sub packages. Especially considering the teams we need to beat to get to the next level. Quote Link to comment

Jackson and Lee have potential. But Jackson had basically never played corner until 8 months ago and DWilliams said a couple weeks ago he still has a ways to go. Lee was so much of a question mark that Riley didn't even mention him in his two-deep pre-spring - and he said today that he wasn't much of a factor until recently. They will likely be good at some point. But they're not there yet. We have a huge question mark at boundary corner right now. Quote Link to comment

We have a couple options but no one standing out. If kalu stays at corner we are weak at a safety position. Difference is we have a potential star at corner and role players at safety. Make the move with Kalu to safety and let L. Jackson develop. Kalu is a good corner but not elite. Kalu could prob be a better safety than corner. If Jackson can progress through spring we should be really salty in the backend. Quote Link to comment

By moving Kalu we have two. Quote Link to comment

I guess it all depends on how you feel about k. Will. Don't think he good enough at safety and it seems like Elliot and Williams might agree. Therefore we are more lacking at safety than corner.
