Nebfanatic
It is such a relief to see our QBs transfer their weight to the front foot when they throw every time. You don't hold your breath every time they throw Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
I am a little worried about the coverage in the passing game by our starters though. Some big holes at times. Quote Link to comment
EmeraldIngot
And then Gebbia comes back hitting his RB on the run for a nice gain. Really making this QB competition a 3 way run. Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
Man, Rose could start for a team like Kansas. Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
I will agree in all of this offense ya gotta wonder where our defense is at  Not where they are at, but how far along are they? Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
Gifford has been ballin though geeze Louise! Quote Link to comment
EmeraldIngot
Gifford has been ballin though geeze Louise! The #1 D really has been the Like Gifford show, hasn't it? Quote Link to comment
EmeraldIngot
POB fitting the ball into some tight windows. He can really out some mustard on the ball, and with accuracy too. Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
It has been! Solid tackling and has created 2 turnovers, he looks like the one guy out there who could be ready to go if it were week one right now. Â Another thing I have noticed in this first half I like, we are really utilizing the TE thus far today Quote Link to comment
Beez
Both Obrien and Lee look real solid. Lee's TD throw was so nice to see. Looks to be a close race for the #1. Quote Link to comment

Another thing I have noticed in this first half I like, we are really utilizing the TE thus far today Definitely. And with a QB who can fit a ball into those soft spots in the zone and hit the TE in stride, it adds yet another thing opposing Ds need to cover. And when they shift to cover the middle more, it leaves either the deep sideline fades as one on one situations or leaves the flats undefended. Which is why Wilbon had such a wide open run on the check down for a TD. Quote Link to comment
Swiv3D
Our defense is fine. They've said multiple times to not look closely into this game. The fact that there's not a ton of defensible adjustments and that there's not many defensive play calls makes this pretty obvious. Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
I mean that is understood but it still makes you wonder just because we aren't getting a real look, how far along they? I'm sure they are going to be fine as well but it would be cool to see them really in action. Quote Link to comment
EmeraldIngot
They are definitely playing a very vanilla D, not showing blitzes or a lot of pass rush in general, and I think part of that is some gamesmanship from Riley and Diaco. They don't want to show the real 3-4 D in the spring so our early opponents won't have a lot of film and won't know what to prepare for. A bit dissapointing from my perspective, I'm looking forward to seeing our D in action, and if Gifford plays in the fall line he did today, we are gonna be in good shape. Well, if we can actually pass rush. Quote Link to comment
