Roundball Shaman
There’s an old Frank Sinatra song that went something like this... Thanks for the memory Of things I can't forget, journeys on a jet That wondrous time when wins were peak And we would win ‘most every week. And thanks for the memory Of autumns Big with Red. We used to have such happy fun It was a joy back when we won. Now since things changed, I wake up Sad on the morning after I pine for sounds of winning cheers But all I have is eyes with tears. But, thanks for the memory Of every touch a thrill, I've now been through the mill I've lived a lot and learned a lot, you win no more I wonder what all this was for. Thanks for the memory Of how we used to smile The barbecues in Lincoln town When skies were bright and leaves were brown. Thanks for the memory Our tradition now made void And now because the way things look, I need some time with Sigmund Freud The happy days have come and gone I’m left to sing this sad sad song. They wait for us in Big Ten Land I'd rather see Sahara Sand. I know it's been said That grown men never cry, baby, that's a lie We had our bed of red but see how roses die Thank you boys for what you were Our Nebraska proud Big Red. 2 Quote Link to comment
ScawFraw
Would I be considered a bad fan if I decided just to take a break from Nebraska football for a while? Quote Link to comment

I always tell myself every year that I won't get as invested as the last year, but that never works. Even if we loose most of our games this year I still won't be able to look away. Call it habit I suppose. Even when we are horrible, I still watch, even if I don't want to. I don't get it. 3 Quote Link to comment

I'm the same way. Even when we are getting pasted, I sit there and watch. I'm a fan, win, lose or draw. Passionate and opinionated, but still a fan. Even if SE and Riley are here for 5 more years. I follow the team, not the staff. Regardless of how incompetent... Quote Link to comment

The best time to be a Nebraska fan is Tuesday during the weekly press conference where the coaches, players, and media tell us how progress will be made, and how good things look. You have no choice. SE made sure that none of us would get to enjoy NU football until he is gone. Quote Link to comment

This right here ^^^. I started "knowing" about Husker football when spending time with my grandpa, and remembering how excited he was for winning seasons at the start of the Devaney era. We, including myself, got pretty spoiled and thus got a rosy colored view of what Nebraska Football "should be". But regardless of the record, I'll cheer the alma mater and the young men she puts on the field....every week....every year. Quote Link to comment
