knapplc
Former Nebraska QB Zac Taylor promoted to L.A. Rams quarterbacks coach Quote Former Nebraska quarterback Zac Taylor is no longer under center, but he’s sticking to what he does best. Taylor was promoted to quarterbacks coach of the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday after previously serving as the team’s assistant wide receivers coach. “Zac’s promotion is a testament to him and the coaches that we have in place as well as our desire as an organization to build and grow from within,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said via a release. “He has a clear understanding of our offense and we’re confident in his ability to coach this group at a high level and that his transition into the role will be seamless.” As a Husker, Taylor played two years (he attended Wake Forrest and Butler Community College beforehand), starting all 26 games in that stretch and finishing with 5,850 yards with 45 touchdowns including 26 in his senior season. He set several season records and career records for touchdowns, passing yards, completions and attempts and earned first-team All-Big 12 and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors. After graduating, Taylor spent some time in NFL camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, then had a quick spell in the CFL. He then became a graduate assistant at Texas A&M from 2008-2011, joined the Miami Dolphins and was an assistant quarterbacks coach then the quarterbacks coach for the team from 2012-2015, was the offensive coordinator at Cincinnati in 2016 then joined the Rams in 2017. 2 Quote Link to comment

Football assistants will always pretty much have a job somewhere, if they don't mind the life of a nomad. It can be very hard on their families and kids, but they do make great money, especially if they can get to a coordinator spot. 1 Quote Link to comment

I am sure he made very good money at Cincinnati, and will make good money with the Rams. If he ever makes it to OC again in the NFL, he will make huge $. Quote Link to comment
