Would be great for the defense if he had a breakout season. This play from the Michigan St game is a good example. Last year was supposed to be his breakout year but of course injuries robbed him of much of the season. It’s guys like him to watch this spring because of the development during last season. Put on that Colorado game, he had 10 tackles and he didn’t even know what he was doing. Then put on Iowa, 9 tackles and he’s covering their tight ends in the slot. He’s one of those guys Chins was talking about learning to be a better pass rusher. When he does that better, he can be a real force capable of covering tight ends, being down on the line in the run game and being a disruptor in the backfield. But it’s the mental side, as he said, that is slowing him down. When he can finally play free, as versatile as he is, he’ll be a great player. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
