Posting Info From Paid Sites

What is the difference in posting articles from Rivals/247/On3 vs The Athletic vs ESPN+ vs OWH/LJS (which are paywalled after 5 free articles a month)?

If you can't post anything from the "recruiting sites" then why can we from the others?  They are all paywalled.

It seems like it is ok to say "Callahan said XYZ" instead of linking to the article where it is actually in print?

I believe you can paraphrase the article but not copy it. Linking to it is always ok.

This is correct. You can even post a snippet - like a short paragraph - but not a significant portion of the article.

Posting a sentence or two, or a short paragraph, can be acceptable under Fair Use, for purposes like commentary and criticism. The trick is to keep it brief.

It won't prevent Callahan from messaging the Mods and asking to have his content removed. And likely the Mods will just remove it because it's easier than arguing with the copyright holder about Fair Use.

I totally understand the frustration of having your post removed, and it can be confusing when you see other articles posted without removal. The difference here is that Callahan is local and he or one of the staff is going to check this site pretty much daily.
