I hate Urban Meyer

Recommended Posts

To preface: my dad is a Gators fan and Urban backer, and I've had a few

That last touchdown sent me over the edge. Did he really have to score again? That resulted in a broken window at my house on the coldest night so far this fall.

.

Any other damage out there? Or Urban hatred? That little p#%%& that took time off cuz of stress. Man, I hate him

take a knee. 99 of a 100 coaches do. He's the one. He'll get his. Maybe not from us, but he'll get it. He's quickly pissing a bunch of people off around this conference. Someone's gonna say to hell with it and take a cheap shot and injure Braxton, then he wont be so tough.

Did any of you watch the Arkansas Satate game? We tried scoring when it was time to take a knee and we were up big. Ended up fumbling on the 2 yard line. Go back an rewatch it. Funny it wasn't a problem for you then.

Urban wins everywhere he goes. Bo win..well, wait. I guess he has never been head coach before. Nevermind.

Don't want them to score? Stop them. Simple as that.

Here's the problem:

1) Yes it was a run play. No, we didn't stop it.

2) But that's not the point. The point is: that play didn't need to have been called. They were up 18 with the ball, and we weren't going to call a time out if they knelt the ball. So why call a running play in the first place.

I understand that we should've stopped them. But the play shouldn't have been called, period.

This

It wasn't like tOSU was trying to secure a win. I could understand if they only had narrow margin of a lead. They game was clearly won on their part. Running a play that close to the endzone with a sizeable lead was a douchebag play.

My guess is tonight you hate Urban because "he ran up the score". In a few weeks you'll be pi**ed because the new AD won't fire Pelini and shell out the cash to get a coach like Meyer.

disclaimer: even though unpopular to some at the moment, I am a Pelini supporter! This post was meant to illustrate the incoherent thought processes of some fans after a loss, especially ones like tonight.

I hate him because my dad loves him, because he can't stay anywhere for more then 5-6 years, and because he left a hell of a job because of stress. I have ulcers because of stress at work and make 24,000 a year. Must be tough making millions.

Edit: last touchdown and more then I care to admit I've drank just final straw and now a cold house. Not proud.

Daddy issues?

Problems with jealousy?

Where are all the in house therapists to dissect the origination of this thought process?

Wasn't there a pro coach from Rutgers that tried to smash the QB in the victory formation?

It wasn't a pass, it was the same run play they ran all night. It's up to us to stop it

Why hate Urban Meyer? Hate our defense, hate Bo Pelini, hate the real problem. Tonight was an embarassment and as a Nebraska football fan my pride was hurt tonight and it was unacceptable. No Husker fan tonight should feel anything less, our defense didn't show up to play and it goes beyond that, Taylor had a bad game, but the offense still moved the ball and scored 38, yet our defense can't do anything? Urban Meyer put Bo Pelini to shame tonight and guess what it's the same thing over and over again with this football team under Bo, whenver we are on the cusp of taking that next step to becoming that team that we once were we fall short. It's come to be expected under Pelini whether people want to admit it or not. Tonight could have been Bo's biggest win in the program, yet his defense that he prides hisself on allows 63 points to an Ohio State doesn't run anything special or flashy but yet makes our defense look like the biggest joke on national television. Tonight was it for me, unless Nebraska wins out I don't see anyway that this season is salvaged because there's no way that we can look at what happened tonight as anything short of a huge failure and with a new AD in place he'll be watching very closely over the rest of this season to make sure that this program doesn't suffer the same embarassment that it suffered tonight. Our program is so far from where it needs to be and if tonight didn't prove it to people I don't know what will.

I did everything i could to stop them! I yelled at my tv and broke a window!

I had to chuckle at this - it seems you think the same way I do. For the record, I would've taken a knee, too. Esp. w/starters in.

Yeah but but back in the day blowouts no matter what way the went had 2nd and 3rd stringers in at the end. It was uncalled for by Urban. At our big win this year we had 2nd and third string, along with most of Osbournes blow out wins!!!!

Just STOP!!! Osborne was THE WORST EVER when it came to running up the score and YOU KNOW IT!!!!!

Not really. His teams ran up the score with scrubs playing. And don't think that I had a problem with Ohio State getting that last TD.

IF Urban was going for 70 or 80 like YOUR COACH DID ALL THE TIME then he would have had scrubs....us OSU fans know history.......

No need to defend your team, you didn't do anything wrong.

Try 40+ and Osborne ran it up all the time....didn't BO just run it up????????

What part of "Osborne did it with 3rd and 4th string players with the occassional cheerleader mixed in" did you not understand?

No you don't actually. Like I said, I have no problem with your last TD. NU rarely had starters in with 8 minutes left in games and most of our star players were out before the

4th quarter ever started. Our coach even told an opposing coach which plays he was going to run at the start of the 2nd half once. But you keep believing what you want.

So I agree the last TD was uncalled for and classes....

I started a forum on elevenwarriors and they disagree. Man Ohio State fans are complete a**holes and I'm sorry that you ever played us because I should have warned you. When we lose heart breakers and beat the opposing team the next time most of the fans are trash. I guess Meyer is too...

http://www.elevenwar...yerbret-bielema

im not really sure what the dumbasses meant that said we had 2 timeouts left? uhhhh ya so you think if you got into victory formation and kneed the ball we would call our timeouts? what the hell are they smoking? and even if we did call our timeouts who gives a f#*k, then you give us the ball at our own 20 with 45 seconds and a chance for us to only lose by 2 TD's? these guys must not know the game. you can see arguments either way as far as running the ball or kneeing it, but the timeout thing that people keep bringing up is the most retarded thing ive ever heard.

I agree with you for two reasons. 1. It's poor sportsmanship. 2. It creates bad karma.

To show class, when you've got it won and can run out the clock, you kneel down. I've seen it time and again when a team gets arrogant and runs it up with unneeded points, it comes back to bite them in the butt. This will gnaw at the Huskers and give them bulletin board material for next time. And other teams who hate Ohio State will see that and get extra motive. We've seen that even in this thread. In a game of inches where you so often need every favorable bounce, it's a bad idea to run up the score, even if you don't care about class.

Don't act like Buddy Ryan's Philadelphia Eagles. It doesn't pay. Notice his team never won a championship, despite fielding great teams year after year.

I'm just guessing here, but I bet a lot more coaches than you think would have done the same thing. We were spoiled by Tom and how classy he was, but I just don't see any problem with handing the ball off for run play up the middle. If he had run play action and thrown it, thats another story. Bottom line is, we could have stopped him. Doing it with his starters in is questionable though, you're right that if Miller would somehow get hurt in a situation like that, oh man, would they want his head.

I just think we have so many more issues to be concerned about after this game than that last touchdown.

kneejerk reactions. I normally feel the same way. Just looking for reasons to rag on that prick.

Honestly? I thought we shouldve started taken knees against idaho St start of 2nd quarter.

Guys,

That WAS our 2nd string tailback. Jordan Hall is out remember?

Our offense still needs work and we are starting frosh and sophomores at skill positions. We are paper thin.

Everyone needs to get better and it isn't as if Braxton ran it or if he threw it up in the endzone. Just a hungry tailback who was thinking about transfering last year

We also had our 4th/5th string running back (Rod "I like to fumble the ball" Smith) getting carries.

I guess, whatever. If that score would've come earlier, then it wouldn't have been a problem. But the game was over. No need to run any other play besides QB Kneel.

It's plays like those where you run, and Braxton tears his ACL, MCL, LCL, and PCL. Then what do you do?
