  1. But ESPN only has him rated as a 3 star....ahhhhh
  2. So they get just as many Cali/Florida kids, yet only spend a small percentage of the time recruiting the region as we do because of the availability of talent in Texas makes Cali/Florida much lower on their list? I do think as much time as we spend in California and Florida - and with as many connections as we've developed there over the last 6 years...we should have way more than 14 kids on the roster from those two locations. (not like it is hard to convince an assistant to go to Cali/Florida in December/January when they live in Lincoln) Those are really easy assumptions to make from outside of both of the programs. Do you know for a fact that Oklahoma only spends a small percentage of the time recruiting these regions as Nebraska? Nebraska has spread out their recruiting regions pretty far so I doubt they spend that much more time in these two places. A competing view might be that Oklahoma is able to recruit these two areas harder since they don't have to work as hard in Texas and don't have as many kids to look for in other areas like Nebraska does in Louisiana, Ohio, Illinois, Colorado & Missouri. And if you are saying we need more kids from Florida and California on the roster that means you have to get rid of kids from other parts of the country, we only have so many slots to fill.
  3. We have pulled some very good recruits out of California just like they did. However, it's a numbers game. Look at how many players they have on their roster from Texas....more specifically from the Dallas area. It is extremely easy for a recruit out of Dallas to get to Norman for a game even when they play a game Friday night. Heck, I'm sure they could even make OU 11:00 games. That may be true, but Oklahoma always recruits nationally very well. To me, I don't I think getting a kid to come from FL, CA, NY, NJ, VA to Nebraska is much different than getting a kid to go to Oklahoma. I see these schools as being equal in about everything but coaching. Let's look at the Oklahoma versus Nebraska rosters for the past season. California - 8 for Oklahoma - 9 for Nebraska Florida - 4 for Oklahoma - 5 for Nebraska Texas - 45 for Oklahoma - 18 for Nebraska
  4. Could it have been a bad lunch?
  5. So you're saying we are disadvantaged? Gee, I never really thought about that. Then why do we expect any better than we're getting? This is an honest question. Everything isn't always one way or the other. You can be disadvantaged and still have high expectations. Thinking about this more, what a crappy attitude towards life in general.
  6. And even if Nebraska were to break into the top 10 like 2005 (which was a ranking that was probably not deserved), its highly unlikely they would be able to sustain it. Over the past 13 years there is usually one team that is unexpected that breaks into the top 10 but its usually the same 14 teams alternating in the top 10.
  7. Michigan has a pretty good amount of talent in state and they draw a lot from Ohio as well.
  8. So we won't ever be able to keep up with the big boys with more geographically advantageous circumstances then? You're right. Why even try. That is quite the leap. It just makes sense that the teams that are located near the most high school talent are going to be able to pull better players more consistently. Its not easy to convince a kid to come to the middle of the country to play football at Nebraska when schools closer to home are also calling. I know its hard to see that through scarlet colored glasses. Not saying it isn't doable, just difficult.
  9. Location (USC), location (Texas), location (Florida)
  10. I don't think any graduates of the service academies would appreciate you call them a 'yes man.'
  11. Reading his biography and for some reason St. Cloud State stood out to me as being a school somebody on our staff had ties to. Turns out everybody's favorite whipping boy was the OC there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barney_Cotton.
  12. Marvin Sanders wikipedia page has been updated, this one is in the bag folks.
  13. Was joking - just found your comment about the accountability of Mr. Sanders amusing given your name as Mr. Accountability. I'm very juvenile and jovial. Well. I've very mature as well as literate. That's good because our future depends on libraries, reading and daydreaming.

  15. This is great coming from Mr. Accountability What the hell is that supposed to mean? Please clarify. He needs to be accountable for his actions? Oh. Where gonna play this "guess what I'm thinking but dont really mean" game again, eh? I'm the one that wrote it. Your comment was just very fitting of your name, why so hostile?

Mike Rowe. The poor man's Morgan Freeman.

Both have excellent voices. I could see Rowe playing Red in the 2025 remake of Shawshank Redemption.

Wasn't Red a white guy in the book? (Like Santa?)

True story about Mike Rowe he went to a friend of mine's vineyard to do a Dirty Jobs segment. He spent a great deal of time trying to take every female employee there into the barrel room if you catch my drift.

  20. It's discussion man...part of what a forum is all about. I'm curious to know how long the supporters of Bo will continue supporting him if we do not win a championship. It's pretty black and white. You can argue that everything we talk about on here, whether its the coaching staff, Taylor Martinez, the defense, etc...is pointless as nobody inside the Husker program is going to read it or do anything posted on here. Throwing out random numbers doesn't make a discussion.
  21. The annoying thing is that you aren't trying to start a conversation with a thread like this. You are asking a silly question and just looking for somebody to give you an irrelevant number. What if we went 13-1 for the next 5 years with all 5 losses being in the conference championship game. Should Pelini be fired? You don’t allow for any context in your question. Just looking for a number here folks... What are you using that number for? Are we going to put this together and deliver it to Eichorst? “Shawn, we polled random people on Huskerboard and on average they will allow Bo to be the coach for an average of 3.14159265359 years without winning a conference championship before he should be fired. Trust these dudes, they know what they are talking about.” There’s no reason you couldn't have asked this same question in any of the other many threads you mentioned in the first post and you probably wouldn't have incited the horse beating gifs.
