  1. I think being 6th in rushing yards per game and 4th in yards per rush are more important stats than total rushing yards.
  2. Trevor Siemian, Northwestern, October 20, 2012 - 15/35 (42.8%) - 116 yards - 2 TD - 4 dropped INT
  3. National averages for scoring defense. 4. So, tell us again, what point is there in comparing our rushing defense average in three games versus an entire season's worth of games? Through 3 Games: 2009: 3.3 2010: 3.5 2011: 3.9 I had to do some digging on the NCAA's website to find the archived stats, then going game by game, I took the total number of rushing attempts thru 3 games and divided that by the net total yards gain per rush thru 3 games. http://web1.ncaa.org...e&sportCode=MFB Here we go: Final national ranking in regards to rushing yards for teams played in the first 3 games: 2009: Average ranking - 53 (Florida Atlantic - 64, Arkansas St - 83, VaTech - 13) 2010: Average ranking - 65 (Western Kentucky - 46, Idaho - 114, Washington - 36) 2011: Average ranking - 72 (Chattanooga - 87*, Fresno St - 74, Washington - 56) *Rushed for 1588 yards on the season which would have put them 87th among FBS teams and who cares amongst FCS teams. 2012: Average ranking - 38 (Southern Miss - 86, UCLA - 5, Arkansas St - 24) Sothern Miss has only played 2 games. The rushing defense was pretty amazing in 2009 based on what they did to VaTech. Clearly that defense was better than what has been on the field this year and the past 2, I wonder if they had a player that was just a beast playing then, guess we'll never know. Is it that they've played better rushing teams or is the rushing defense worse? Think its still too early to tell.
  5. I think it is interesting that for all of the rushing yards the team has given up they haven't allowed a rushing touchdown yet.
  6. cfbstats.com is also a really good website for finding stats broken down by situation.
  7. Its the 3 headed-monster at RCB, must have been quite a battle between Mitchell, SJB and Evans for them to all get the -OR-.
  8. Also a lot of talk about Seisay coming in and starting right away, its been mentioned he's slowed by an injury but he's not even listed on the depth chart for this game.
  9. Pelini pretty much said Westerkamp was going to redshirt in an interview yesterday and he's not listed in the depth chart so all signs point to it.
  10. Link Woohoo! I thought I followed the team fairly well and then I noticed that Brodrick Nickens is the back-up RG.
  11. I honestly thought this thread was going to be about September 11th.
  12. Game was against Rice, Collins had 19.5 tackles for loss last season. He looks a little light for a DE, is he going to play there in the new system?
  13. My family likes to think this is because it was the first game we all attended together!
  14. Swoops: This is a lot different from school, cause we don't really have a playbook. Texas has to love their recruit saying this!
  15. Trying to make equivalents to the Husker squad. If we lost Burkhead, Santos, Carnes, Jake Long & Vincent Valentine? Ouch...
  16. Tight end Kevin Haplea to Florida State and Defensive Lineman Jamil Pollard to Rutgers. That puts the count up to 5 transfers so far.
  17. This is surprising considering how many players DiNardo says are underrated. As he is going through these reviews he most often gives players a higher rating than Scouts has them.
  18. You have the parties reversed. Priest tells another kid the coaches' numbers. Nope, he had it right...
  19. This is a good article that discusses USC recruiting, where they are and where they are going. They are limited to giving 15 scholarships a year and 75 total. Both limitations are in place. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/usc-numbers-lane-kiffin-successfully-staves-off-scholarship-213753439.html
  20. But this doesn't work out with them signing 16 last year and already having 18 verbals this year. Which says that they are not following the punishment handed down to them by the NCAA on the 15 a year. Sorry I edited, I did some more research. They signed 17 last year with 5 of them being early enrollees that counted towards the previous year limit. 12 of them counted for 2012, so they still have 3 available.
