  1. Not to hijack the thread, but is it simple to add a pix to a post ?? (not utube........just a picture). When I've tried to transfer a pix from a document file, I can't get it to copy and paste into the post or reply section. I admit I'm WAAAAY behind the curve on this type of stuff, but if it's simple, I'd enjoy adding it to the repertoire. Appreciate any info from you creative genius types...................
  2. The problem with this argument is that we can look at a miniature single payer system right here in the United States. It's working quite well at the moment . . . in fact . . . better than much of the private market. ("The Best Care Anywhere." http://www.washingto...01.longman.html) Second, I think your visceral reaction to the word "socialist" is exactly the sort of thing that redblooded was talking about. I'm guessing redblooded doesn't want to add an S.R. after U.S. I'm guessing he isn't a fan of Mao. Yet somehow we can't have a conversation about the very real problem of paying for health care without references to the most evil examples of socialism. He's right . . . if you look at the numbers there isn't any argument. Single payer is the only way to adequately risk pool to lower costs and increase availability. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll see it in my lifetime because the insurance companies are making enormous profits that they then dump into scary advertisements and lobbying. The AMA isn't far behind. Exactly. And a massive part of the cost of the private insurance is overhead, Mountains of paper work and all the salaries of the people who just move papers around, people who make descicions based on spread sheets weather or not to approve something a doctor views an needed for a patient. The weak minded in this country need to start thinking for themselves, actually paying attention to facts and stop believing the right wing, and the people who are profiteering of the missery of others. Stop falling for the scare tactics, and the word 'socalist.' The true irony is the many of the people most against universal health care call themselves Christans. They need to take a min, and ask themselves (like they claim to on many other matters) 'What would Jesus do? Would Jesus support universal health care?' And you believe the bolded red above does NOT happen in a federal bureaucracy.............?? I know the last few times I've attempted to navigate the morass that masquerades as "the Fed", I was unbelievably frustrated.......! Just sayin...........
  3. Great win and a record start for the season.......! Of course, Iowa comes to town next...................
  4. Incidents like this make it hard to believe that we have folks who think you DON'T have the right to protect your own....................
  5. DEATH TO THE BCS (like the name of the book)! IF we're passionate about this....................can we vote more than once.....???
  6. Love to see Minter getting into coaching ( previous stop at Johnson C smith). Following him at NU and then Carolina, I always thought he would be a good one. Best of luck to a classy guy in Gill. Good fit for him and some others on he staff. Minter is class as well. Both as a Husker and a pro. Seem to remember an article where he moved back to Lincoln in order to get his son right under the noses of the Husker staff. Hope joining TG doesn't move Junior out of state.
  7. Agree with you on Barf-knect. Of course, he has been easily disagreeable since the formative years when he sported that David Niven style replica of a 'stach. On the other hand, I'll give props to Sam McKewon who seems to know his stuff and constantly approaches topics from a differing angle than the standard boilerplate.
  8. Given the vociferous reaction to the Penn St. hiring choice by many in the PSU community, does anyone see any parallels with the 1 man never-ending Pedey saga when all of Husker nation was seemingly reduced to scrambling for Cessna tail numbers and pouring over FAA flight plans in a futile effort to shed some light on our future leader?? If I recall, SP really enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame while isolating the free world in an Exodus style banishment from any meaningful content on his solitary infamous “Search”.
  9. No one should be surprised. I've relegated "journalists" to the dregs of the sh*t pile. I started to lose respect for them years ago when they made a conscious decision to "make' the news rather than report it. It's also noteworthy that many of the better ones have "progressed" to electronic media, this fulfilling the adage of the "Peter Principal"
  10. This. You don't even have to ask yourself if the OP was serious about this. The "insider source" thing really had that insane, let's-play-russian-roullette-for-fun quality to it. I still can't tell if this guy's account is the same as one of the primary admins previously on um...ahhhhh, what was it called? Husker something. Huskerp...hmm, it's on the tip of my tongue. I think it might actually be a post-troll trolling under the guy's name. Hard to say, either way. It's who you think it is...............
  11. Regardless of who throws it more..................we EXPECT our wr's to be physical and embrace blocking...................IF that feeds into his competitive juices, it could help...............
  12. They said K-State was 25 to 1...better odds than us...fail. fail?? So when did the mildcats move to the B!G ?? National championships can be won by non B1G teams, and actually almost always are. I was pointing out that a small school in the middle of Kansas coached by an old grandpa is more favored by Vegas to win a NC than we are....FAIL. I understand that............I was only pointing out that WITHIN the B!G, we have the 2nd best odds according to outsiders................ergo................we must not be as bad as some suggest..............
  13. I think TO extended his contract before this season. If it wasn't this season, it was last year. It also included a huge buyout to get rid of him. I think the buyout for Doc is higher than the one for Bo. It wasn't one of TO's best idea's to say the least. The extension was before this season. Egg on the face of T.O. as attendance dwindles in the direction of Doc's point-a-minute offense...................
  14. Very true....................we really caught a break that BOTH were tossed since the SC guy never threw a punch.....................If it was only Fonzie................Bo may have totally imploded..............
  15. I don't think he is overburdened with collegiate experience...................
  16. Weather, beaches and pointy sweaters..................
  17. They said K-State was 25 to 1...better odds than us...fail. fail?? So when did the mildcats move to the B!G ?? It should be noted we were 18-1 odds coming into this season. The odds are worse by their measure for next year, it seems. Not that Vegas should really factor into a reasoned assesment. Wasn't comparing last year to this year, only noting that (compared to some of the "sky is falling" comments) Vegas gives us a modicum of respect in comparison to our B!G brethren......
  18. They said K-State was 25 to 1...better odds than us...fail. fail?? So when did the mildcats move to the B!G ??
  19. I support Bo, but there is no question his antics are becoming the visual icon for the program for many outside the state. When I talk to friends around the country they are almost unanimous in their assertion that Bo being the face of our program is unfathomable. They wonder how a program that has invested so much in trying to do things the right way (obviously a lot of that is due to T.O.) puts up with an image that flies in the face of our historical image. (They liken it to contrary branding. Remember, this is their take, not mine). But, it is a bit of a concern when you hear how others are perceiving our program now.
  20. Interesting...although I am concerned at his desire to play RB. This latest pursuit of Bourque gels with the theory I posited in the Imani Cross thread. I think these will be the types of RBs we'll go after in future recruiting cycles. It does fit well. I'm curious if we'll get some of both or just bigger backs. We've obviously got some smaller backs that will be around for awhile but only one more year of Rex. Given the power series we seem to like, I'm guessing we'll trend toward bigger backs but it also might just be a need to balance the roster. Don't forget about Morrow..............supposedly a beast..............
  21. For some outside perspective.............(since the inhabitants of this board are all pretty frustrated right now with the lingering images of the bowl game still fresh)............... I heard today on the Zone (haven't checked it out, but THEY were saying...........) that Vegas has us at 30-1 to win the Mythical National Championship.............which is second only to Michigan in the B!G.......!! Now I'm not running out to bet the mortgage on it, but obviously outsiders (who may have more of an objective view than we do)............think we will be pretty decent.....
  22. They got 40, does that mean Doc gets to ride in the cargo hold? Probably means an extension........................
  23. And the sad part is it is a 35 second shot clock in college RIGHT............my bad...............I get so frustrated with Doc............I've lost whatever math acumen I might have once possessed.....................
  24. In a regulation basketball game there are 150 24 second bites. In a perfect world, each team would get 75 of those. Doc’s plan must be to limit the damage by utilizing the full complement of 24 seconds for each of his 75, thus leaving only 75 for the opponent. If said opponent only shoots 50 % on field goals (leaving out treys, foul shots, and NOT using all the clock----just to make the math easier) Then said opponent only scores 75 points and avoids Sports Center breathless highlights Good Night Lucy…………and head for the bus…………. Now I understand the good Doctor’s plan………….
