  1. If Chubba is going to run, he needs to tuck and go. Left some yards there.
  2. Gotta hang onto that ball. Theyre going to go after the ball every play.
  3. Lucky on that drop. Think that could've gotten the 1st...
  4. 17 degrees with wind chill. Nebraska weather! GBR. One game left. This is it. If we die, we die. Talking about Iowa's D.....WTH. What about the Blackshirts. Come on man.
  5. Posted in the rumor thread, my nephew is a big OU fan. It was on their boards yesterday....Said Rhule announced during their team Thanksgiving.
  6. Do you have and "ideas" or "guesses". Maybe a "hint"?
  7. I hate that every beat down, injured, pull your QB(insert position) from the stands goes all Heisman/All American on us. Why can't we, for once, have our injured/back up players rise to some super human performance level and beat Iowa....
  8. Great news. Benhart has quietly improved. Need veterans back. We have painfully seen what a lack of quality depth does. Be great to start having a plug and play 2 deep across the board.
  9. My nephew just said it's on the Sooner boards that Rhule told the team he is out....I also saw on an alleged A&M board that Ryan Day had accepted....Great to see our HC rumored for openings. means he is doing something right and others have taken notice! GBR
  10. Just a rash of season ending injuries this year. Never good to lose guys, but to lose 2 in an OT loss is just a straight kick in the nutz…..
  11. This sums up the major difference to me between the success of the O vs the D. The physicality and "dog" mentality shown by the D. They were laying dudes out. Hard hitting, gang tackling, punishing etc....The O, not so much. They lacked the physicality in the blocking department across the board. From OL, to FB, to TE and WR's... really see the receivers fight for the ball or really "get after it". Hard I know, when the passing game was erratic, but none of our guys went after the ball like I have seen other teams. The "eye ball" test comes to mind. RB's did well, but would love to see them become sledge hammers that by quarter 4, the D doesn't want to hit. Unsure how the D developed that (coaches?) and the O did not (coaches?). Younger guys on O, QB play etc all factored in. Here's to next year. (After we beat Iowa and get a bowl!)
  12. This is the type of running I was hoping to see with the mention of a FB and/or 2 back sets. Some more of TO's counters or traps. Especially when defenses quickly realized we have no passing game and crowd the box. Use the counters and misdirection to make a D pay for the aggressive rush or make them back out and play "slower". Can't remember if it was the 1st or 2nd drive, but we used misdirection and went for a good gain. Don't remember seeing it again tbh.
  13. He does. I have often wondered how that motion hasn't gotten a flag. Much like a OL shifting their stance. It's very noticeable once you see it. It can't be unseen. Any rules gurus or former OL guys that can chime in?
  14. Elko would be a good get. Has done well in the ACC. Hard to recruit football players to a private BB school. Contract through 2029 at 3.5 million/year. He has a done a lot with less than a little. And A&M has those crazy deep, zero F's to give financial pockets. Only thing is you pulled a Nebraska and fired a 45-25 HC. A lot of coaches, imho, that are in a stable position would be leery. Unless you get a life changing buy out clause that is more than 90% of the worlds countries GNP. Be fun to watch. One article I read they are all about geting Prime as he'd bring his two sons and Hunter. Unsure how the transfer rule would work though.
  15. Doesn't make us victims. And I am sure not saying that. But we have been on the wrong end of some sh!tty calls. Allen tripping our LB in OT. The reviewed TD catch that wasn't, even after review..I have watched a lot of football and NU does appear to be on the negative side. I am sure the B1G and the refs didn't like him publicly calling the reviews out after the MSU game. Crazier things have happened. There can be an unconscious bias. But bottom line, like a boxer, take the decision out of the ref's hand.
  16. It would be our luck that coming out of a decent 1st year, with a HC with a plan, that our HC would leave. Not saying there is any truth to the rumor, but NU has fallen out of the bad luck tree and hit every branch on the way down.
  17. Possibly. Just interesting with Comptons comments at the end. I will say that last year,IIRC, was the first time in years that NU got a holding call go their way. Then there was the 16 penalty A&M game on our Big 12 farewell tour……
  18. Was watching a video today of Will Compton’s live reaction to the NU loss against Wisky. He said that after the blown calls against NU during the MSU game (and comments) that there’s something going on. The past few games, to include the MSU, there were several missed calls that were obvious to everyone, but the officials and reviewers. Any chance Rhule’s comments about spy gate and the officials is biting us in the butt down the stretch. Not trying to put the losses on officials, but there have been some bad blown calls the past few games. A call or 2 went our way we might already have 6 wins. It’s a short week….
  19. Couple of quick questions. 1) @Mavric Had posted James "Sackman" Williams would not play last night to preserve his RS. Selfishly, I really wanted him to play. Thoughts from the board, would he have made a difference? I think he could have helped on those third downs to have gotten pressure on Mordecai. 4 tackles and 2 sacks in 3 games. 2) Any word on Sanford or other injuries? Sanford has turned into a great asset. Wish he had another year.
  20. I agree with your post. The pipeline and Blackshirts are what NU was known for. The B1G, and even with the addition of the PAC teams, will be won or lost banging in the trenches. Unsure who coined "smash raid" last night in the games thread (if it was you Kudos), but even this "run the damn ball guy" can get behind it. Unsure if Wisky figured us out (adjusted) after the 1st or we went away from it, but those first few series looked good. If we could build around the quick passes, the misdirection and PA with power running (would love some actual 2 back sets (EJ and insert other RB here) we migth be on to something. Learn from last nights miscues and move on. Bring the smash raid to Iowa and go bowling.
