I'm a fan of Benning but he's really reaching here. First of all, he's making his own assumptions - that it was three hours (or however long) into a meeting and that they didn't know he was there. I find it pretty hard to believe that they didn't know he was there. It's not like there were 100 people in the room. Probably 10-15 depending on support staff. It was a mistake. Riley said so himself. There's no way they were wanting this news to get out from a reporter in Oregon unless they are totally clueless which isn't the case. They either didn't set enough ground rules or shouldn't have been discussing things they didn't want released yet. It's not the end of the world. The only reason to continue to argue against it being a mistake is to try to insist that they are incapable of making a mistake.

As long as TW thinks he is visiting... I agree. I'm not sure we'd have to have two QBs in this class and I'd be fine with only POB if that's how it went. But if the coaches think they want to have two, you have to still be working on other options. It just seemed like some - not necessarily on this board - are kind of acting like we really aren't after Gains that much. It looks to me like we are.

This is nuts.

I don't think we have much of a chance. But with all those options, we must still be after him a little bit if he's even considering a visit.

Fisher has a son at UNL and one in HS so he's waiting around a bit. Els is basically in the same situation. Twins that are seniors in high school so he's coaching in Lincoln this year then probably look for another job after football season.

Wow. That seems odd. Sounded like he was in the mix at OG. Woah. That was definitely unexpected. Didn't he play a fair amount last year and was part of the backup group that many felt outplayed the starters? What that tells you is that Price is most likely not getting on the field at O-line this year. He has been passed up. But he may get some time at DT. I have my doubts, but you never know. He seems like a really nice bright young man, and will be very successful in life. I am not sure his motor runs real hot though. That didn't seem to be the case from what we were hearing out of practice. Plus, we have three starters already at DT.

Well now. I don't know that this is an offer that just went out. Probably has been there for awhile. Planning OVs to Florida, Notre Dame, and Alabama. Considering an OV to Nebraska.

Says he's "100% committed" to Texas Tech but is planning to visit here for the South Alabama game. May take other OVs as well even though he's been peer recruiting for TT.
