  1. Wouldn't be an OV but it would be nice to get him here.
  2. Luke Hiers ‏@lukehiers54 30m New top 5 Kentucky USF Syracuse Nebraska Mississippi State
  3. Not yet. We're probably a long shot but you probably would have said the same about Gates a year ago. With a teammate already here and a coach that likes us, it's worth keeping after for awhile yet.
  4. Not quite on topic but I thought I'd put it here. HuskerOnline ranked their 10 best Nebraska HS players of the last 10 years. Hernry was great and I didn't realize Zuerlein was from Pius but it's a little sad that the best two in the last 10 years were both kickers. And only 5 of those 10 went to NU.
  5. Not sure About this. It's one thing to not play a guy but they moved him to a different position hoping he'd play more and it still didn't work. He may be one of the best physically but that's not the whole story. Similar story with Andrew Green. Started at corner as a junior but got moved to safety. You don't do that with a guy who should be starting at corner. You do that to try to find a different position where he can have more success.
  6. Here's the video since I don't see it in this thread anywhere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ha3S3kwAQE You can see at about 0:27 Smart jerks his head around (sitting on the floor) and looks in the direction of the fan. He then gets up and at about 0:29 you can see the fan in question say something. So that looks to me like two different things were said to which Smart took offense.
  7. Added more to my previous post.
  8. I'm not sure. From the other video I posted he was yelling on the court, flipping the guy off and then doing some strange head-shaking-with-tongue-hanging-out thing. Maybe that was all he said but I'm not sure I'm convinced. Probably never know. Addendum: You can tell from the ESPN video that someone said something to him while Smart was on the floor that gets him pretty angry to start. Then he gets up and you can see the fan in question and he says something else and that's when Smart pushes him. So there were at least two things said to him, possibly not both by the same guy.
  9. We are currently tied for 333rd out of 351 D-1 teams in assists.
  10. I'd like CJax to take a spot but I'm just not sure he'll get there. I'd be fine with Gerry at Nickel for one more year but not Dime - he wouldn't be on the field enough.
  11. I've been with you. He did well and we obviously needed help at the Dime spot this year so that's good. But we really haven't had a play-making safety in awhile and I think he will provide that.
  12. Considering we were picked 12th in the conference and started 1-5, getting up close to 8th wouldn't be a bad accomplishment.
  13. This. I'm not in the slightest saying that there aren't racial issues in today's world. But when basically every potential controversy is instantly labeled "racism", I believe that hurts progress instead of helps it.
  14. I was VERY impressed with how TA ran the option - decision making, fakes, keeps, etc. Was a little hesitant on a couple against Georgia but that was probably the first time all year he didn't run the play very well. But the actual pitches against Michigan and the one to Newby against Michigan State were not that good. We got away with it against Mich but it cost us against MSU. Not that Newby couldn't have still caught it, but it was a tough one to handle. Especially for two guys who hadn't worked together very much.
  15. Considering we were 17-21-11-23 last year (four services), what trend are you referring to?
  16. Figure skating isn't really my thing anyway but I'm not sure about this new team competition. Considering both the gold and silver medals were locked up after two of the four stages. And the US would have to have a disaster not to win the bronze. So much for competition.
  17. That pitch in the Big house the worst you've seen? I love these cases where two people watching the same thing come to completely different conclusions. That pitch was masterful. There were 3 Michigan players between Tommy and the goal line that were focused purely on Abdullah. They were simply waiting for Tommy to pitch it to him. Tommy nearly pitched the ball but instead faked it and hesitated. He hesitated just long enough where specifically #57 for Michigan, and a couple other Michigan defenders, sucked in closer to Tommy. At that point, Abdullah had gone past Armstrong and Tommy pitched it forward perfectly. Tommy couldn't have played it any better than he did and I thought it was a great example of that playmaker ability he brings to the position. Can't wait to see more next season. Newby's drop was "catchable" in that it was possible to be caught but it was a poor pitch. I think the Michigan game was two separate sets of circumstances. The final TD play was a GREAT play by TA - and there was nothing wrong with that "pitch" (technically a pass). Prior to that, every one of his option pitches was high, hard and behind AA - basically the worst combination you can have for a pitch. I was very impressed that AA was able to come down with each one of them - it would have been very easy to drop one. Thus it didn't surprise me when TA came out the next game and did the same thing to Newby and he didn't come up with it.
  18. Barring a complete disaster I highly doubt there is a chance Wilbon won't RS next year. I would tend to agree but it's surprising to me how few of our RBs redshirt. Taylor was about the second one in the last 12 years or something like that. But it would probably to good for him to redshirt.
  19. ESPN's Joe Lunardi currently has six B1G teams in (2-Michigan State, 3-Michigan, 4-Wisconsin, 5-Ohio State, 5-Iowa, 10-Minnesota). He obviously follows it very closely but I'd say it's fair to say the B1G isn't as strong as it was last year so six is probably right. Maybe seven if someone finishes really strong.
  20. Saying someone was more at fault is not the same as saying it was warranted.
  21. I don't think so. Curry was really solid and working his way up last year - was ahead of VV part of the time.
