  1. Thanks Adam, really going out on a limb there. Nothing like hedging your bets but I'll let him slide if the first part is right.
  2. Or perhaps they have some "insider" info....
  3. Adam Gorney (Rivals) @adamgorney Hearing good things for #Nebraska with Terrell Newby but don't count out #UCLA just yet.
  4. I really think - even before we played Georgia well and ND forgot to show up last night - that we would have every chance to beat ND. I won't say we "would" have beaten anyone as we found many ways to make life hard on ourselves, but I'd say we would have played them tough. Probably would not have had as much luck in the second round. The Alabama/Georgia rematch in the second round would be interesting. The winner of that game probably cruises into the final.
  5. That's becuase they took an SEC team to the wire, and we were "routed" by an SEC team. Like I said, subjective.
  6. In a statement that will be a total shocker to everyone, the polls are pretty subjective. The AP has a Michigan team that we handled head-to-head and has a worse record than us ranked ahead of us. I don't lose a lot of sleep about who's ranked where, except for #1 of course.
  7. I can definitely see ND next season repeat Michigan this year. Over-achieving defense one year leads to higher expectations. Regression to the mean the following year and you get a handful of losses.
  8. LOL @ "They had to change the recruiting rules because of Saban."

    1. Count 'Bility

      Count 'Bility

      to no rules at all.

  9. Saban can come unglued up by four scores. Brian Kelly mouths "Bull S#!^" twice on camera. No big deal apparently. They're just "setting the tone" for their teams.
  10. The difference between Callahan and Pelini has more to do with culture than wins and losses. True. But did I dream this up or did Callahan win nine games exactly one time and had two losing seasons?
  11. I'd agree with you on these seven: Bama, A&M, South Carolina, Georgia, Oregon, LSU, Ohio State I think those teams would be favored over ND The next tier would probably be 50/50: K State, Florida State, Florida, Clemson I'd tack two more on that are just as good although they lost to ND but are very close: Stanford, Oklahoma Penn St. probably not so much. If Pitt's kicker doesn't miss that FG in OT, ND is probably rated #5 or #6.
  12. Oh man, you took the easy way out. Though your comment is true, your opinion is very valuable to me. Can't you give a better effort? I think Notre Dame is a top-5 team. Alabama is just a demi-god. They beat MSU, a decently good team. They beat Michigan, a ranked team. They beat Stanford, a top 10 team. They beat Oklahoma, a top 15 ish good team. They beat USC who has the second most talent of anyone in the country. I'd probably put it this way: They beat a crappy MSU team. They beat a Michigan team that didn't find its identity on offense until Shoelace got hurt. They beat a really good Stanford team because of a completely blown call IMO (Taylor was over the goal-line in OT). They beat OU pretty handily but A&M freakin' embarrassed them in the bowl game. They beat a 5-loss USC team by 9. And they probably should have lost to Purdue. Notre Dame isn't that good. And they definitely should have lost to Pitt.
  13. Nice of Bama to take their foot off the gas before it gets too far out of hand.
  14. Jones was 84-87 Dubose was 83-86 Jeff Smith was 81-84 The first Husker game I attended was in Boulder where Jones ran wild. Only saw the first five and the last five of about a 60 yard TD run right at me because my frozen feet would let me stand up quickly enough to see over the people in front of me.
  15. Curious what those who say we don't need a playoff are thinking currently?
  16. I was just trying to find some defensive stats. Admittedly, this game isn't holding my attention very well. But has he done anything?
  17. Don't really think so. Notre Dame beat Stanford. And Stanford does not have enough athletes to move the ball consistantly against Bama.
  18. idk man 2006 osu and florida was pretty bad. its up there. Up there, yes. But not as bad. 41-14 vs. 62-24
  19. Starting a pool for when the first "Most lopsided #1 vs. #2 game since the 1996 Fiesta Bowl" reference will be dropped.
  20. 55-10 final. Notre Dame might be really happy with that score the way things are going...
  21. I approve this message Nothing like hate for Notre Dame to bring Michigan and Ohio St. together.
  22. Luck of the Irish. Karma?

  23. 19-19 at the half. Not sure if I can take much more of this...
  24. Bengals getting outgained 202-29 ... and lead 7-6.

  25. They knew he was from/going to Nebraska.
