  1. I left the room for a minute with us down big. Pleasantly surprised with the comeback. Hope we can finish it off.
  2. If I were the opposing QB I'd request we not run the play where we leave Boyd unblocked. Ouch.
  3. Ha! Had him in at FB in their jumbo set! Didn't look like he was really comfortable carrying the ball but would still be a load to bring down. Not sure they should go back to that package - didn't work out very well for them.
  4. Just a reminder that his game on ESPN starts in about 15 minutes.
  5. The most recent article on Rivals (which is now two months old) listed us but 247 makes it look like we're down the list. I haven't heard much about him recently so I'm not holding my breath.
  6. Playing on ESPN right now.
  7. Yes Edit: Sorry, didn't see this was already answered.
  8. If my math is correct, 12 ypc is pretty crazy. I was wondering why he only got 12 carries with that kind of production but apparently he was battling cramps after a fast start.
  9. It was on his page on 247 that I previously linked to. The article was titled "Love still solid with 'Huskers" but the teaser was "LB Courney Love says he's still committed to Nebraska but he's still communicating with the Sooners" I was just curious about the nature of his conversations with OU. Thanks for the update.
  10. So he's going to end up in an ice bath again? Too bad for Prince. Hopefully he recovers quickly.
  11. Rick Neuheisel was going to change things too. U$C's monopoly on the city was going to be over. Oops.
  12. Absolutely. Hopefully with our offense in it's second year Ole Timmy can reach a little deeper in to the bag of tricks.
  13. Geeesh Chris......3 or 4 center-qb fumbles a game? Did we have that many last year?
  14. (**cue Dr. Evil voice**) One BILLION dollars! Ouch, that's got to hurt.
  15. I'm not a VIP on 247 but there is an article saying he's "still committed to the Huskers but still communicating with the Sooners." Anyone know what the story is? Courtney Love on 247 (the link in the OP could be updated, by the way)
  16. What would our line look like with he and Cochran together???
  17. I would say OU is his leader at this point, with Florida directly behind. The only way we have a shot is if he makes it back to see a game, he has said he will but you never know with other schools pushing just as hard as us. Hopefully a few games into the season when we have our 2-TE sets humming at Patriot type levels.
  18. Still not really sure on this but I've changed my theory somewhat. I now think it's taking me to the first post after I've opened my browser session or the last post in the thread if none have been posted since then. I haven't been using the "Mark forum as read" at all but it's still skipping over posts. I'm still only using Chrome so maybe I'll break out the old IE or Firefox and see if it changes anything.
  19. I think that you're an Obama fan and you just don't know it yet. Contrary to popular belief, the government workforce has dramatically decreased during his years in office. A fact which Obama constantly bemoans. Link to Obama bemoaning? Also . . . it's still a fact. I didn't argue that it wasn't true. BigRedBuster observed that some believe we can't downsize government. You stated he could be an unknowing Obama fan and followed that up with the fact that the public workforce has decreased dramatically during his term. To me, this implies you were giving credit to Obama for doing this. If true, that would be like having your cake and eating it too. Credit for reducing the workforce while complaining that it's being done. Also, overall government employment has fallen some 636,000 state and local government jobs have been lost but the Federal government has actually added about 143,000 so it's not the government most directly controlled by Obama that's shrinking. Here's a couple: Obama urges Congress to boost public sector jobs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvUMvknc228 Never caught this before: "Flexibility of the Federal Government" read: "Ability to print money" or "Ability to spend more than we take in."
  20. Sure. Exhibit 1. Barack Obama. There was a certain "grand bargain" that was all over the news a few months back. Something like $3 trillion in spending reductions . . . and rejected by the GOP because they would not agree to the rich paying a cent more in taxes. That sounds good on a message board but is not accurate. This is an extremely long read but very informative. It seems to me that the writer hails from the left side of the isle so a couple of his conclusions may have some bias but overall it is very interesting. Who Killed the Debt Deal? Not inaccurate. Simplified, sure. The short version is that a deficit reducing bill failed because of disagreements over taxes. The power struggle between Cantor and Boehner over the deal also played into the failure. You second set of reasons differs significantly from your first. From the first post: Wrong: 1 - $3T in spending cuts. From the article I can find numbers close to half that that were somewhat agreed upon 2 - GOP didn't agree to tax increases. Basically every paragraph talks about the $800B in added tax revenue that seems to have been agreed upon for some time before the deal fell apart Misleading/Unprovable: You insinuate that the GOP killed the deal. Could be. Maybe not. That's what we don't know. Did Boehner panic or did Obama change the deal? Obviously no one knows for sure - other than those present and I doubt any of them are posting on this board. So, as I said, you post was inaccurate.

  23. I couldn't bring myself to vote for anyone but DONU but I could definitely see tOSU jump up. I've been a fan of the Urban Meyer offense (not necessarily the rest of the package) since he was at Utah and I can see him getting them going in a hurry.
  24. I hope you're not too disappointed with 4 because I see that pretty easily. It wouldn't surprise me if you manage to slip up @UNLV or vs. 'Cuse. I also doubt you'll beat both NW and Illinois (they had pretty much mailed the season in when you played them last year) but may get past Purdue instead. Five wins isn't out of the question but that would be pretty good from where I sit.
  25. I'm somewhat skeptical about them as well. Maybe I have a little skewed view because we handled them so easily last year but they also got handled by Notre Dame and were trailing Minnesota in the 4th quarter - MINNESOTA!!! They did seem to play better in their big games (except us) but also lost a lot on offense. They could pull a 2009 Huskers and have their D keep them in enough to pull a few out but I don't seem them as having a lot of margin for error.
