  1. Typical Bo, his anger and hatred of fans holding him accountable is laughable
  2. I love how this has become a big one for our program, no we haven't had big wins under Bo, we haven't won anything other than a couple joke Big 12 North titles, we beat an outrageously overrated Missouri team in Lincoln. We beat Oklahoma State in Stillwater a week after losing to a bad Texas team in Lincoln. We haven't won a big game by Nebraska standards since 2001 Oklahoma?
  3. This is what's wrong, we fail and people accept it, when did we start accepting the flaws of our program and not do anything about it? Hey we're bad against running Qb's in Bo's system but it's ok we're going to lose those games because we'll beat a team that runs a pro style offense. Hey Bo wanna face teams that only run that type of offense go coach in the NFL. Adjustments need to be made, plain and simple and after 5 years Bo won't make them. Well, there isnt going to be any coaching changes during the season. In fact, it's probably not happening after this season either. Nor are there going to be any major philosophical changes. So I suggest you just cool it, relax and enjoy the rest of the season before you have an annurism. Nebraska football isnt the only thing in life, though it almost is. Had this fact engrained into my head after the loss to Oklahoma in the big 12 title game. I was miserable and then 3 days later had to watch my grandmother pass away in a hospital and realized that it's just not that big of deal anymore. I love it yes. I jump on here everyday to post and read opinions, bicker with a disgruntled fan or two and be on my way. But I refuse to let the success and dismay of Nebraska football gray my hair. To concern yourself with lowering expectations this, and accepting flaws and a whole bunch of other stuff that you literally have ZERO control over is only going to cause you bitterness and heartache. I'm as loyal and diehard as they come. Listen to sports nightly every night. all 12+hours of radio game coverage every saturday. Make most to all home games, and give up fun stuff all year round to do so becuase I do love it. But you cannot let it gray your hair. EDIT: I shoudnt've have quoted MT on this. This is a shoutout to all the bitter fans here screaming for heads and change this and expectations that. It's not worth it. I'm not lowering my expectations, nor am I OK with where this program is right now. I've just come to accept what this team is right now and am hopeful that changes are made moving forward (personnel and strategy, not coaching changes). I just couldn't believe that people seemed shocked with this loss when it's the fourth time we've been scorched by a mobile QB in the last two years. Things aren't going to change this season, and the only way it will is if we get a defensive line that can make a difference. Right now we have TWO three-star DE commits and ZERO DT commits, so it doesn't look like that will be happening anytime soon. Pardon my pessimism, but I've been optimistic for 5 years and it looks to me like it will be another 2-3 before things turn around. If things don't change I don't know if things will get much better in 2-3 years

  5. Score more points And no turnovers Well if that's the case we're screwed
  6. 2 Biggest reasons that they would beat us would be Kain Colter and Pat Fitzgerald
  7. This is what's wrong, we fail and people accept it, when did we start accepting the flaws of our program and not do anything about it? 8. I understand there's a lot of anger with Taylor Martinez after last game and I get that whole he's not a real QB argument, but I think he's the one that needs to finish this season out plain and simple. I think it would be a huge waste for Tommy Armstrong to pull his redshirt and to try to right the ship this season. First I think he's got all the talent in the world which is why if we pulled his redshirt now instead of possilby getting 3 or 4 full seasons of him we'd only get 3 and a half at most, if changes need to made in terms of QB they will happen later on, and personally if our offense scores 38 we should win with Bo Pelini as our head coach because Bo knows defense.
  9. Our D-Line and LBs are unacceptably slow and unathletic, nowhere near where they need to be to compete for big time wins and championship hopes.
  10. Pete Carroll would be unreal if we got him to Lincoln, you're absolute fool if you wouldn't want him here. I don't see him being out at Seattle though and I'm not convinced we could pull him away (And I highly honestly doubt we'd even try).
  11. No, I don't know him personally at all. I thought as much. Thanks for clearing that up. I'd love to hear your relationship with Perlman I'm sure you'd find it interesting. But don't hold your breath waiting for an answer. Fair enough
  12. It all starts up front, our D-Line is bad. Compare us to what LSU and South Carolina's D-Line looks like and that's where we need to get our D-Line to, get to that level and that's where it starts. Then we need to get way more athletic at LB, we need way more speed at LB and get guys that will come up and hit and make game changing plays such as force fumbles.

    Reality

We can't take that next step as a program, that's the reality. When was Nebraska's last true marquee victory, when's the last time this program has truly won a game that really meant something, something that is "Nebraska tradition" worthy? The reality is when we play on the brightest stage we shrink and it's become quite obvious over the past five years that it's not going to change anytime soon.
  14. Why hate Urban Meyer? Hate our defense, hate Bo Pelini, hate the real problem. Tonight was an embarassment and as a Nebraska football fan my pride was hurt tonight and it was unacceptable. No Husker fan tonight should feel anything less, our defense didn't show up to play and it goes beyond that, Taylor had a bad game, but the offense still moved the ball and scored 38, yet our defense can't do anything? Urban Meyer put Bo Pelini to shame tonight and guess what it's the same thing over and over again with this football team under Bo, whenver we are on the cusp of taking that next step to becoming that team that we once were we fall short. It's come to be expected under Pelini whether people want to admit it or not. Tonight could have been Bo's biggest win in the program, yet his defense that he prides hisself on allows 63 points to an Ohio State doesn't run anything special or flashy but yet makes our defense look like the biggest joke on national television. Tonight was it for me, unless Nebraska wins out I don't see anyway that this season is salvaged because there's no way that we can look at what happened tonight as anything short of a huge failure and with a new AD in place he'll be watching very closely over the rest of this season to make sure that this program doesn't suffer the same embarassment that it suffered tonight. Our program is so far from where it needs to be and if tonight didn't prove it to people I don't know what will.
  15. No, I don't know him personally at all. I thought as much. Thanks for clearing that up. I'd love to hear your relationship with Perlman
  16. you'd be surprised. (that was a joke, but probably as much as us?) I know they give him notes but he threw out some names and stats like he knew what he was saying, but like you said who really knows...
  17. You should work on getting factual information next time. This stuff, while entertaining, has more truthiness than truth to it. Hey guy you don't like what I post you don't have to read it, what I hear is great info and I'm sure what you think you hear is great info and I'm sorry if doesn't match up 100%, but that doesn't mean info stops b/c some MOD doesn't like it when someone knows more than he does. I didn't tell you to stop posting. Go ahead and post your rumors. Keep them here in Rumorville and it's cool - as long as it isn't libelous, of course. Deal

  19. If any new information is out there I'll try to keep you posted but really that's pretty much it. Best of luck to Shawn Eichorst, I think fresh blood in the Athletic Department could be good for us, not saying it was bad before, now we just have to wait and see.
  20. I think Harvey was just trying to show everyone that he's the chancellor, he makes the decision on who the next AD not TO. I don't think he's trying to be a rock star by any means, I just think he wants people to know he's in charge, he decides who wants running the Athletic Department because that's his job, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. Some may not like how it played out, but what can you do?
  21. This is pure conjecture on my part, so take it with a grain of salt, but I get the sense that Harvey resents the fact that he isn't a bigger deal publicly around here than he is. Harvey strikes me as a guy who holds himself in pretty high regard. I just have the sense that internally he's annoyed that the "damn football program" gets way more attention and has more prestige than he does. Like the public dressing down of Bo after the A&M game. That was 100% avoidable, and Harvey is not a stupid man. The only purpose I could see in going the route he did was to draw attention to himself personally. This might be another one of those deals. Like, "you guys think you run this operation? Nope! I wear the crown and wield the scepter around here, and I just proved it." Purely a hypothesis based on nothing but intuition, but this is feasible to me. That could very well be spot on
  22. I think the biggest thing out all this is: At the end of the day Harvey wanted his own guy. TO's been able to make a lot of decisions over the years of who his predecessor is going to be such as somone mentioned the Solich situation. In Harvey's mind which is technically true the new AD was his choice not TO's, and even though Jamie Williams was brought in to be groomed to be the new AD by TO, Perlman wasn't having it and wanted to make a change in the AD that was his choice. And like most people would react TO didn't like how it was handled and he wasn't even consulted because like people said he thought we were going one way and Perlman had obviously known for a while he wasn't going that way and didn't want to tell TO because he knew it wouldn't have gone well.
  23. Was told that that the deal to get Eichorst was pretty much made weeks ago, and was done behind TO's back. Apparently TO got wind of it, and that's why they did the press conference when they did. It's also why Tom said he wouldn't be involved at all in who they chose. Apparently Perlman was doing this without his knowledge. So as we are now all aware, Harvey has made an extraordinary power play over the AD. Specifically TO. This Eichorst deal was put into play 6 weeks ago or so. He came up Sept 9th and met with Harvey. Once TO heard about Harvey's actions, he called the impromptu PC without letting anyone know ahead of time via proper channels. The associate AD's didn't know about it until the morning of the PC. No one in the media knew. He called this PC on Yom Kippur, which one could argue was out of spite for Harvey and forcing him to come into work that day. Looking back, you can see Harvey is annoyed to be there and this clearly wasn't planned. This is what I had told to me today, take it FWIW
  24. What is the big update and when is it coming? Just posted
