I can't believe this. The second rated recruit in the nation has Nebraska as definitely a potential school. I doubt that he is actually coming, but I still can't believe we even got that far with someone like this.

That would be pretty surprising if we could get the number one prospect to even visit us. That guy just won national high school player of the year, as a junior. Only three people had ever done that before.

A Big Ten title isn't unreasonable since the conference isn't too tough, but the idea of Taylor Martinez leading a team to a national title is nothing but laughable.

We'll see about that.

I'll gauge my excitement once the season is here. Maybe the team will get out to a horrible start and I'll just be looking forward to the end of the year.

People were saying the exact same thing about 2011 back in 2009...I don't disagree that this year can be special, just pointing out that fanbases go through this trend all the stinkin' time. And everyone's team is also able to hang with anyone on their good days. I really don't buy that this year is going to be anything spectacular. 9 wins before the bowl is the best I'd hope for, just like I figured they would last year. Until Pelini rolls out a very well disciplined team that doesn't constantly shoot itself in the foot, it will be nothing but second and third place finishes.

I'm not sure how one could justify keeping Doc around. He has had more than enough time to do something with this team. The best he has done is an 8-8 conference record, and I feel like that is incredibly outweighed by the 2-14 and current seasons. No signs of improvement. Just fire him. Even when the team has occasionally won it usually isn't that pretty,

Good for you, well see how both teams are doing when we get to that game. Robinson could be out for the year Taylor could be hurt, long way away. true, but it's more likely Robinson will be in the hunt for the Heisman, Michigan will be fielding one of the most dominant defenses in CFB (i think people WAY overlook Michigan's defense), and Taylor/Nebraska will still be relying on Rex 30-35 plays a game. Robinson won't be in the running for the Heisman, no way. The game is in Lincoln though and Vegas values home field advantage greatly, since it clearly exists, so Michigan won't be favored by that much. I doubt they are even going to be that good.

Michigan appears to be a pretty bad road team. I'll say Michigan by 12.

I think that us being second favorite is nothing more than a testament to just how weak the Big 10 is. Who would you put ahead of us? Wisconsin and Michigan State lose huge pieces and Ohio State isn't bowl eligible.

There has been some considerable defensive talent here the last few years. However, it should seem the offense has been abysmal since no one has dared to even mention an offensive player from this decade yet.

If you are willing to just stop rooting then I have to question how much of a fan you really ever were.
