  1. Your season sure reminds me of the Rich Rod debacle at UM. After his 3-9 first season, he promised UM would be back and that was interesting because Carr had won 9 games the year before. He went 5-7 and then 7-5. Riley is similar to RR in that he is loyal to bad assistant coaches. Mediocre head coaches need great staffs or you will just get mediocre.
  2. Harbaugh has to talk to any recruit that shows interest and they evaluate on film that fits what they want to do. He only has a month to recruit, so poaching is going to be a part of it. My guess is going forward Harbaugh will want to have his class wrapped up early so I don't see the poaching trend continuing, except maybe for OSU. )
  3. Nah, the donors stepped up to make sure UM could afford JH.
  4. It will not be a night game. UM AD Brandon limitsit to one per year and that was the ND game.
  5. This includes Rich Rods years, so that needs to be considered. Hoke is already improving on this.
  6. Why don't you like him? Even I hate Herby. He is a dope and I know plenty of people who agree. Next time College Gameday comes to Columbus watch for a protest on camera. Herby got a very popular radio host fired in the fall. Hate is a strong word. When you strong arm a radio network to get a man fired that you don't even know leaving him without a job with a wife who is pregnant(without healthcare) and their two kids then I got a problem with you. And it was for nothing substantial. just some silly rivalry banter on twitter. Of course you leave out that this radio host had other issues in his past and this was one that broke the camel's back. Guy was / is no hero.
  7. The "you" in the following statements is a generic you for any fan base. Stadiums you should always be able to take over: Indiana, Northwestern Stadiums you might be able to take over: Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota Stadiums you should never be able to take over but you still can: Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State Stadiums you will never take over: Nebraska, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State I've been to every UM game since 1977 and Michigan Stadium has never been "taken over". You Bucknuts are delusional.
  8. Not sure where our scheme hardly changed. We played players more that we didn't before, and we pressed their WR's to prevent the run, and shut them down. Sure, we still ran a nickle defense, but the scheme and pressure was different. Something we did not do in our previous games. I would expect us to do the same thing for Michigan. Robinson doesn't have an arm, and I see us taking advantage of it, and if he does go through the air, I see our DB's taking advantage of that as well. This game is going to come down to turnovers, whoever converts the most and has the least, will win. Great thing, Michigan is known for turnovers as well. DRob has very good arm strength, his issue is throwing off his back foot and that hampers his accuracy.
  9. Lots of NFL and college players do that. It's a younger generation thing.
  10. Yes it can. Wisky is a distant second to the worst fans in the conference. Ohio fans are in a class all their own.
  11. Are you sure you are a Michigan fan? It's UM as in University of Michigan.
  12. I was only giving my opinion on my experience at the game. On average, most of the fans were nice to us. I didn't really notice any exceptional loud fan base though. Obnoxious? Some were. Am I jealous? Absolutely not! Michigan fan aggressiveness? Is that why there are SWAT team members at all games? You do know that our country is at war right? You do also know that a venue like UM Stadium is an appealing target to terrorists right? Those officers were there to protect you.
  13. if it was Penn State fans from BWI that said this, then it makes sense. They are the largest group of black helicopter, UFO, Bigfoot conspiracy fans in the conference.
  14. Funny that a Sparty is on a Nebraska board posting about UM. Spartan fans are so well known for good behavior. I would guess you guys have kept the tear gas vendors in business with all the riots in East Lansing.
  15. Most popular for non-students is definitely the golf course. Pioneer High School is also pretty popular but I thought I had heard you can't drink alcohol there now? (I guess that makes sense...) Anyways, for more student-driven tailgating go down State or Hill st. and you'll have no trouble finding the parties. You can drink alcohol, but pour your beer in a cup.
  16. 53 and partly cloudy for Saturday in Ann Arbor. Weather won't be an issue.
  17. Jackson, MI is west of Ann Arbor and usually has some room on game days.
  18. Wear a UM shirt in Columbus and see what gets thrown at you.
  19. I have watched two PSU / UM games in Happy Valley and they used to be louder by a large margin. With the renovations at UM stadium, the sound is staying in and the Notre Dame game was as loud as I have ever heard and I have been going to UM games since 1977. This being a noon game will not allow for the students to get juiced as much as a night game so may not be as loud.
  20. If you have an RV, you will want to park at Pioneer High School and if you have a car, try the golf course first, it has a better tailgating scene.
