I can't put the World Herald completely at fault for their antagonizing writing at times. This is Nebraska... Are they being antagonistic, or are we used to being mediocre? With that said, I'm not particularly a fan of Dirk Chatelain... The guy comes off like he has a right of passage to say what he wants about Nebraska football at any given time. I doubt he's played a down of football.

Anybody who hasnt seen the field gets no praise. This is the real world... just sayin. And why would ESPNU be impressed? Can you blame them?

Care to elaborate? I dont see it. If you want look at it subjectively... We lose our key player in the secondary, we lose our key player at linebacker, we lose our key player on the defensive front. Losing key guys in every layer of a defense that was less than stellar last year. It's essentially the same offense as last year... a sputtering one. Okay, scrap "many ways" and replace it with "a few ways." Personally, i've built on plenty of positives from fall camp and the offseason. But we shouldnt expect anybody to be giving us a red carpet entrance to the BIG championship at this point after what we showed last year.

They aren't in the wrong IMO. We have earned nothing. On paper, we're worse than last year in many ways. ESPN will be ESPN. It's on us... I wouldn't want it any other way.

You guys will DEFINITELY be surprised at how physical our D is. Especially up front. I'm surprised every time I see us play. Yeah should be a good game. What is you're score for this game? Maybe, maybe not. UCLA has a reputation for being soft. This is the same place where the seniors had a 'skip day' for practice, and Mora is the first guy to put a stop to that. UCLA has tended to be a school that folded when someone punched them in he mouth, like USC routinely does.

Ya but what would people be saying if Bo did this tonight, we would probably be concerned about our team. I would rather hear whats coming out of our camp....confidence. Bo has done this. In the form of, "Everyone runs till one person from each position pukes." I remember Niles and Prince (or was it Niles and Dennard?) made it a personal competition and if I remember right they both puked just as they were leaving the field.

i disagree... Yes, there are a lot of hard working, tough, all class cfb players out there. but there's only a few players, a certain type of player (rb in this case) who has a number of yards punched up in their head seconds before that play is even ran. Not getting those yards is not a question. Those yards might as well be written in pen on the stat sheet before the center snaps the ball.
