good post! The emotion, the "OMG the sky is falling" people..... that is what makes NEBRASKA FOOTBALL fans so great. We dont just "like" football, we "love" football. We get excited when we win, and angry when we lose. To love something, you really have to care about it, you have to cherish it. That is what makes us one of the best fans in all of CFB. Yes, we have the extremist, but why would they get so upset? Because they "love" their team. You have to be able to take the good with the bad (im talking about the fans here, not the team).

I think it's the same problem Solich had and the majority of coaches have....inability to land enough big recruits. They do a fine job with ordinary players but I have news for you, they could coach me for a hundred years and it would never make me a top athlete. thats an excuse. Wisconsin cant recruit, Oregon was a no one until Chip arrived, Boise State still has no one, Kansas State doesnt have sh#t, OKlahoma State, Michigan State....... I can go on for a while. Hell Tom didnt have that many decent recruiting classes, but Tom knew how to COACH! THis is all about coaching and lack of player development. Bo messed up on not getting Stoops here as a DC. One Coordinator being new is OK; two is just committing suicide. Outside of Brown, our DB coach, and maybe Kaz - every other coach is still learning how to be a college coach. (cotton doesnt count, he is a lost cause)

Simple, we got out-coached at every level. Our coaches are young and inexperienced..... and its showing. At some point, our COACHES need to turn the corner. Too bad they spent all winter saying the "players" needed to take more responsibility and needed to turn the corner.

its mora first game with subpar california talent (recruits heading to Cal and Stanford the last 3-4 years). Im not a ucla fan, but I think UCLA will make some strides this week. Not enough to beat us, but they will be better than they were last week. Same with Souther Miss, new coached teams make HUGE strides their 2nd and 3rd weeks. As for the article, that guy just likes writing stuff that pisses people off, much like his Pelini comments. His opinion doesnt matter much even in the PAC area (i live in Washington and hear too much about how great the PAC is)

hate that we are burning a redshirt. With Marrow as a big back, Rex all purpose, and Heard and AA as scat backs; seems like a huge waste. One extra year geting bigger and faster, as well as learning the offense and reading holes.... Bo will regret this one.

I dont think this has anything to do with his girlfriend. I think this still stinks of Barney. His dad or girl stated that Tyler didnt think the coaches could help him further his career (steelers) anymore. THat to me says he thinks his postition coach is a F'n retard (Barney!). "He had some things he wasn't happy about at Nebraska", "then in January he'll make a decision". He is probably telling Pelini that if Barney goes, he will come back. We know Pelini wouldnt fire Barney this close to the start of the season, the next opportunituy will be..... in December or January! thanks for the info, Daskers. Any thought on how long they plan to keep BC on staff? We heard rumbling a few years ago about him taking some sort of assistant AD spot. Heard anything about this lately? I like Barneys kids, no doubt the kids can play, but it does put Barney and his kids in an awkward position. Everyone is going to call nepotism if they arent starting, so I can see other players saying he is making special rules for his own kids. But, most dad coaches are HARDER on their kids, than other peoples. They expect more and reflect on the parent. So, who knows what is really going on. If the other players forced him out, then maybe he was just crying because he didnt get the #1 spot.

This is our "we should have won" game that we lose every year (see NW last year). Minnesota - Win Iowa - Win Division, 3 way tie with Mich and Mich lite. We win based on BCS ranking. CCG - Beat Wisky - revenge is sweet Bowl - USC in Rose - Loss 10-4, Pelini keeps his 4 loss season streak going, but the fans back off after winning the B1G.
