NUance-Have you ever taught in the public schools?  

I have not taught in public schools.  In fact, I didn't hardly learn anything in public schools either.  (But I am related to a couple of teachers.  lol) 

Teaching is a tough job. The pay is crap but you keep on doing it because you love kids.  That's the bottom line.  Teachers don't just work 5 days a week for 9 months out of the year.  The work comes home with them.  They think about their students all the time and do whatever they can to help them.  They tolerate helicopter parents, egotistical principals, kids that come to school not having eaten, or slept or bathed, kids that are angry or unloved, kids that have parents who don't give a crap about them.  They spend  thousands of dollars of their own money to buy supplies because there is little money in the budget, and if they're lucky, they get time to go pee during the day-it's a tough,tough job so if anyone has a right to complain they do.
