  1. I'm pretty sure the coaches know what they are getting into. I understand the coaches advice, but this is Qualls' decision, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and let the kid figure it out for himself. Seems like a pretty objective approach to keep him UW centered.
  2. Hearing from UW camp he cancelled the visit already...anyone else hearing this? Article doesn't come out and say it officially, from my interpretation. http://washington.scout.com/2/1257761.html
  3. Yes. Qualls orchestrated the verbal commitment of 6 recruits known as St. Tosh Day Massacre. My goodness this could be huge. UW has a ridiculous DL class right now and are in it for Eddie Vanderdoes. This would devastate them and being a translplant of WA, I would be so happy if we flip him.
  4. I'd say that's a job well done in the girl department. Awards banquet? Can't be prom already! anyone else notice the guy wearing shoes that don't quite seem to be dressy enough for what he's wearing? I'm not disagreeing with your view, but its a different generation man. I wouldn't even try understanding it, you know?
  5. I thought he was more of a cover LB, at least that's what I gathered from the article months back when he and his dad would talk about how Josh would be able to cover him but his dad said Josh would have no shot if the old man was engaged blocking him. But shoot, whatever makes the team better.
  6. look at the end of season records of michigan's opponents and look at nebraska's. they also beat Kstate who finished top 5? top 7 for sure. michigan beat a handful of ranked teams AT THE TIME, but when the season was all said and done, only 2-3 teams ranked inside the top 25. no way in heck michigan's defense was going to stop our ground game. woodson would have meant nothing in the secondary unless he's coming up making a tackle, and if a corner is making a tackle, it's AT LEAST 5 yards up field. I also remember that season's rose bowl where wsu got hosed out of a final play and the refs called the game. fast forward to 2010 and refs put 1 second back on the clock for a team to run one last play aka kick gw fg
  7. other than reading some of the posters who are "in the know," what also keeps me optimistic is that we haven't recently pursued/offered other RBs like Newby.
  8. I can see why a recruit would want to go there. I've always thought their stadium was unique, and Washington is beautiful..... They're stadium is going to get bigger and louder when the remodel is complete for the season opener. Their facilities will look more attractive too. They recruit very well, Lupoi is a genius, but they need to develop the talent they bring in. Going 7-6 every year isn't going to keep landing them high profile recruits. If they're coaching was as good as they're recruiting, they could be good.
  9. The lead-in is wrong. A-Rod was our last USAAA, not Crick
  10. Doubt it means anything but nonetheless... @mitchsherman: Washington WR commit Damore'ea Stringfellow is wearing a Nebraska stocking cap. It's 80 degrees. Nothing to it, he said. #UAGame
  11. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--former-nfl-qb-jon-kitna-finds-‘gold-mine’-at-a-school-where-other-teachers-only-saw-problems-194739063.html Lincoln was in the same league as my team. So much raw talent not developed. There were a few D1 type players but other factors prevented most a chance. Good to see someone step up and take this challenge now. It makes me fortunate for the parents I did have and how involved in my life they were.
  12. heard he is big into computers and on his UW visit they introduced him to people at microsoft and such. i still think he goes ole miss, just my gut
  13. How much of this "re-considering" idea was blown up to write an article and satisfy subscribers? That's a quick 4-7 days to reconsider and solidify a commitment. Nothing personal, just a viewpoint I consider
  14. This was a surprise commit when he verballed in the first place. Only sent the offer to him a month before he committed and right after he got snubbed from Bama wanting to grey shirt him. Probably an emotional verbal and has since cooled, maybe we have cooled, or maybe he was like that OL from a class or two ago that verballed but the coaches didn't even offer
  15. I share similar feelings, however these are my two opinions. I wouldn't be surprised if TommyT dipped before he had no more street cred. Cincy isn't a horrible place to buy himself a few more years after being fired at Auburn and mediocre at TT. Or maybe he fled TT because of bosses. After all, they let Craig James and his cronies at ESPN make their university look like a joke, how smart can the athletic dept and prez be?
  16. At least this thread has truth to what's being said and not some BS social expirement.
  17. until they compare 40 times with pads, i have a hard time buying a kids speed. i recall dan alexander out running a Buff safety who was a top sprinter. I get that its a universal measuring stick, but personally it's only useful for break away speed for "skill" positions
  18. There are lots of things that happen under the table though. You're right and I get that. If Bo left, I wouldn't blame him because I'm sure he would have good reason to leave. For one, the un-bo-lievers and local media have more passion writing a negative article about Bo and his tenure than they do writing something positive. When you've put in half a decade of work into a program that truly was irrelavent, probably bordering NCAA sanctions with John Blake on staff, and such a disconnect from community and former players, I'm sure that can get pretty wearing that the loudest voice is someone focused on the glory, not the deed. I don't envy a college coach.
  19. If Bo goes, so does Nathan Gerry, per his tweet yesterday along the lines of....happy to know i'm in good hands for the next 5 years...hash tagging Bo pretty sure Bo has more integrity than most, especially fans, give him credit for
  20. Ferentz isn't going anywhere. His buyout sits at about $18 million as we speak. fair enough. well this friday tradition continues to get worse. go from respected OU, forced CU, to Iowa pulling out early. when it comes to anything from iowa, pulling out early is always the best course of action. HEY-O!

  22. is ferentz even going to be at Iowa long enough for his opinion to matter?
  23. I liked the post about "how this is nebby's tradition who cares" or to that extent. Clearly, traditions arise from thin air.
