  1. Harrison Phillips was slow rolled into accepting Stanford’s offer. And Fant was bungled between Bo and Riley - or his DT coach. It is concerning that they can’t get their homegrown talent, but seems overblown. 1 doesn’t qualify who would have gone to mizzou (terrible), another to auburn (meh), and another heading to Oregon who never considered Nebraska. The kid who’s dad played for Nebraska is flipping off the stadium? I have a hard time believing a kid acting like that ever seriously considered NU, maybe I’m wrong. Seems more about a winning culture than anything. They’ve picked up Betts, Bretz, Hickman, Henrich, Fidone, and Prochaska. The missed on the other Xavier who ended up at ND.
  2. I’m saying what was expressed on 1620.
  3. Because he had guys like MoWa, Bell, Speilman, accused rapists, and others detract from the team. (Do you not remember players getting kicked outta the locker room?) Like I said, it’s either he’s gone in October (because it’s all excuses) or he has learned from his mistakes and is building something.
  4. I’m taking personal accounts from my buddy I grew up with in the PNW and his cousins and uncles, plus the random kid I golfed with and what they’ve expressed to me. For a small city private cold winter school in the middle of the states, Creighton has a good name for itself in the Hawaiian circles.
  5. Hawaiians LOVE Creighton. But that’s for education.
  6. It’s also a waste of time worrying about someone who never stepped foot on the field.
  7. Being enamored by recruiting rankings is a flawed method of expectations. Recruiting rankings for top 10-15 show some stability and conference title contenders. Outside of top 10-15 is a crapshoot. The high level of talent Frost, and others, has landed has not faired well - Wandale being the exception. Otherwise it’s 90% of guys who washed out or never moved the needle. Lotta people want to compare us to Wisconsin or Iowa who built their program on identity and culture with 3* guys and 30-40th ranked programs. Frost admitted (to Benning recently) that he messed up by trying to win early and not focus on building the culture and team development. This last season was a turnaround from prior seasons lack of effort from players giving up in a game and on the team. We’ll see if it was that just this year alone - which would lead to Frost’s departure prior to his guaranteed salary bump - or if indeed knows what he’s doing and has the team progressing. edit: 1st paragraph.
  8. A walkon leads them to a natty but only after running off Fields and two 5*s not panning out (Daniels has time to make a name yet). So strange. Is that development or lack thereof? Is that bad scouting? Problems I wish we had.
  9. If you mean that you hope the players are holding themselves accountable, calling each other out, responding to the call outs and moving forward together or getting dead weight out, then I get you. The fact that the program didn’t unravel at the seams over a 4 year stretch and 3-9 season says a lot - which others have noticed too - shows unity amongst the players and the staff.
  10. Would you prefer if more starters with eligibility transferred to different schools? Seems to be undervaluing a positive aspect of the program that Frost is building up. According to the ever evolving opinions of some here, Omar Manning and others should have left before the Covid year but yet he and others are still here and praise Frost.
  11. I’ve recently learned about primary and secondary defenders, which has helped my understanding a little bit more, but it doesn’t explain discrepancies in calls.
  12. What was SDSU thinking when scheduling an early March game in Lincoln? Not a bad move for NU to head south one more weekend.
  13. Shots fired haha. Clark for Iowa is a baller, but she is a whiner and works her way to the line through complaining.
  14. His dad was politicking for another transfer to check out NU shortly after the season ended, if there’s a niche role to be played then hopefully he would see it out to fill the void. They seem like football junkie type of family, maybe the NFL or major playing time isn’t the allure.
  15. Hot damn! That’s some good news. This has been my ideal offseason so far, at least QB competition wise.
  16. I hope these metro coaches are as concerned with getting their kids qualified for a college education as they are about NU coaches hanging out with their kids
  17. Ditto. Reduce prices of concessions and I might actually spend money on something other than a pop to chase my hooch and plan my meals for before/after the game. Some of the design ideas look more like a MLB atmosphere or football for leisure/casual fans, like watching the game from a sports bar or my home. Why would I pay $300 to watch a game like I already do? Or pay $1000 for a pregame buffet, like I’m rolling Warren Buffett dough? Also, lack of student section getting any attention wreaks of corporate preference over fan experience. Pipe dream idea and I know this won’t happen, but it would be a cool to somehow find a way to get every grade school kid in the state to attend a game. Considering the lengths they go to to sustain the streak, this could aid in keeping that streak alive and also promote the program for the youth.
  18. I liked him too, but he seems to have been a bad administrator.
  19. Could be. But then would make me curious about Joseph’s role as associate or assistant HC. Is that more of a “title” role so NU can be more competitive in salary? A step down the totem pole to take a couple steps up isn't the worst decision, especially if it means he could coach his son.
  20. Yeah, I was picturing Smart yelling “go down! Go down!” during the pick-6 and wondering if that would actually bite them. Did he also grab him coming off the sideline and yell “i (blippin’) love you?” to the kid? Haha, it was a great exchange
  21. Just read that Rhule and Nixon are buddies since HS, makes sense why they’ve been so attached during their coaching years. Also funny considering his son plays for NU and CMC ran his mouth last summer about Frost.
