NCAA Football 2013
'SkersRule replied to Excel's topic in Tech Central - Computers, Games, Phones, A/V, etc.
Well I've completed my first season in dynasty mode: 14-0 with the #2 recruiting class in the nation. Fire Bo and hire me....lol. Some observations: 1. This game absolutely loves to call Nebraska for false starts. 2. The speed / recovery speed of the computer defense is just flat out unbelievable and borderline ludicrous. 3. Pressuring the computer controlled QB with solely the front four is almost impossible. 4. My DL routinely gets flat out tackled by the computer's OL and there's never a holding call. 5a. Players get hurt every game. In the dynasty mode, I played my 1st season and #22 sat out the final five games. 5b. NU #3 gets hurt and misses at least a quarter of every game. 6. On the plus side, you can actually run the zone read although it's still hit or miss. And after the first season in dynasty mode: the ksu qb won the heisman and missouri won the sec title...lmao. -
Obama urges tighter background checks on gun buyers
'SkersRule replied to walksalone's topic in Politics & Religion
The only problem being that this isn't true. You don't even need to go into the writings of the founder to see that it isn't true. It's right in the Constitution itself. Yet another example of the alternative reality theory. The founder? So there was only one? . And the Federalist Papers, which is what our Constitution is based on, clearly articulated a limited federal government. Carlfense demonstrates yet another example of the alternative reality theory. -

I watched Jim Delaney's entire interview and the way he answered the probation question was comical and terse at the same time. The way he said that you can't compare Nebraska's book buying for athletes to what happened at Penn State was absolutely priceless. His tone, and what I infered, was that Nebraska's being on probation for giving athletes textbooks was pretty damn stupid. Of course he couldn't possibly say that even if it is what he actually thought. But in my estimation his tone clearly conveyed the sentiment. Delaney even went further to differentiate that what happened at Ohio State, as bad as it was, wasn't even close to what occurred at Penn State. And I can't think of the fourth team on probation right now.

The Orphan. (There's something wrong with Esther.) A really first class, creepy, and slightly disturbing movie.

I haven't clicked any of the links or voted, but option B seems to be Kevin Cosgrove. -
Obama urges tighter background checks on gun buyers
'SkersRule replied to walksalone's topic in Politics & Religion
the musket was the most powerful gun at the time of the constitution. it is not the bottom line as the constitution is not final and there have been assault rifle and extended magazine bans. And the framers of the constitution believed in a small, limited in scope and power, federal government with the states holding the majority of power... -
mitt romney; the candidate of transparency?

An utterly hollow promise of transparency...now where in the world have I heard that before? -
It'll be interesting to see what NU does this year. 9-3 is the more probable and likely but if a few key bounces, calls, staying healthy, etc go our way...

Another Guy Doesn't Pick the Husker Hat
'SkersRule replied to Ed Helms's topic in Football Recruiting
Dude chill out, I wasn't slamming Nebraska........I said we weren't recruiting him very hard because we already have 3 BETTER linebackers. And yeah I agree, the 4 last year were better too. I just thought it was funny to see a Nebraska hat on the table when I knew we weren't really pursuing him much. Seriously braj, take pill full of chill. I wasn't slamming you. I was merely asking you what I thought were logical questions and backing up my observations with relevant data. So now the question is, why are you gettin' all defensive bra? Alright, I'll answer your questions: "And......?" - I posted the video because I saw a Nebraska on the table, and thought it was kinda funny because I knew Nebraska wasn't pursuing this kid too much lately. Nothing more, nothing less than that. "Were they just as "burned" as Nebraska or do they get a pass because they're not Nebraska?" - Never said Nebraska got burned, but I guess if you think I implied it, the I'll say I'm happy NU got burned. We have 3 better LB recruits right now and better targets on our board. "Why is it that you seem to be relishing the one LB we didn't get instead of celebrating the three we did get in this class?" - I'm not relishing Beisel and once again I'll say, I think our 3 2013 commits are better than him. Because we got those 3 studs, I knew we weren't actively pursuing Beisel and that's why I was surprised to see a NU hat on the table. "And what about the four we signed in last year's class?" - I'll say this again too, I think the 4 last year we're better than Beisel also. I am VERY happy with our past 2 Linebacker classes. All are very good players and I look forward to seeing them in Red. Wasn't getting defensive Bro Pelini, just responding to you freaking out, thinking I was slamming Nebraska, when I really wasn't. There was some sarcasm in my post in saying another kid doesn't pick a Nebraska hat, but apparently you didn't pick up on that. Well based on your post the tone really didn't seem sarcastic at all. Although all things being equal I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. And again I wasn't slamming you at all. I was merely responding to your post. Trust me, if I actually do "slam" you-you'll have a headache for a week. That's not true at all-it'll only be for a couple of days. -

I thought the same thing...that ain't no woman! -
It's going to depend a lot on how Jackson lays out his background story. The reason this movie is two parts is that he wanted to tell a much broader story than what Tolkien put into The Hobbit, and that could entail any number of things, from Gandalf's work against the Necromancer when he leaves the party at the gates of Mirkwood, or if he wants to provide some background on Thorin that could include The War of the Orcs and Dwarves, including the bloody final Battle of Azanulbizar. I believe Jackson wants to flesh out the Aragorn character, including his relationship with Arwen and possibly some of his work in defense of the West in his earlier life, so that could include some of the battles he fought with the Rohirrim and the Gondorians back in the day. There are a lot of possibilities for action, but of course, the Big Action comes late in the story. So expect the grandest battles in the second movie. So do you think these movies will have anything to do with how the ring came into being and the rise of Sauron? Or is it a completely different story that has nothing to do with the ring? Bilbo finds the Ring in The Hobbit, but it's not how The Fellowship of the Ring movie depicted it. If I'm not mistaken, Bilbo wins it from Gollum in some kind of game. No. Bilbo gets separated from the Dwarves in tunnels under the mountains, and blindly fumbles along until he's in a subterreanean chamber with an ice cold lake and he literally stumbles upon the ring which Gollum had lost earlier. Or rather the Ring abandoned Gollum. From there he puts the Ring into his pocket, encounters Gollum, has the Riddle Game, and the rest is literary history. And point of correction: The first Hobbit film is set for a December 2012 release, not 2013.

InYourEar, I find it interesting and almost hilarious that you, as non-Nebraska fan/outsider, have a more positive outlook about this team than half our fans do.

I'd rather hang my hat on the potential of this group than be in agreement that we've got nothing there to even worry a defense.
