  1. I don't know about snapping footballs but I do know something about shooting free throws. Shaq's mechanics were bad which leads to inconsistency. I think Cam's mechanics are bad. Snapping 200 times a day probably won't solve the issue unless his mechanics are fixed. I imagine he's snapping from a pendulum motion so whether he launches it or makes a reasonable snap is a matter of split second difference in his release timing. I don't know if that is normal or if it should be more of a upside down pass. Maybe it's something as simple as having a consistent stance. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the problem to be diagnosed and fixed 5 games into the season.
  2. We can play NW ball better than NW! 0 turnovers and 1 for NW. Penalties favor NW but not excessively 6-50 vs. 8-74 for us. Coaches can't do much about penalties but they can help with turnovers. Maybe due to turnover concerns and the wind we had conservative play calling. Unless you are vastly superior, the way to beat NW is not to beat yourself. If NW had 400 yards to our 319 it would have made it a perfect ugly win, NW style.
  3. Good question. Too much inexperience on the OL could get someone killed is my only thought.
  4. It was kind of strange when one of the OL was asked before the season started about Jurgens and his response was "no comment". It could be that Farniok is or was better but the coaches thought Jurgens had a higher ceiling so they wanted to get him the experience.
  5. Gophers looked good today, congrats. Slaughter is a bold prediction though.
  6. I believe Jurgens is getting the playing time to gain experience for the future. His high snaps haven't caused a loss yet. Colorado was a defensive collapse and OSU was a loss whether all the snaps were perfect. There isn't much margin for error to get bowl eligible so that might cause some re-evaluation.
  7. The pass Vedral made down the right sideline is not one that Martinez is as accurate on. It would be interesting to see what Noah can do if AM isn't ready to go next week. It's not been obvious but I wonder if AM's knee has been bothering him and causing some hesitancy running the ball.
  8. I didn't watch today's disaster but I think the offense's horrible play is directly tied to the high snap from center. The high snapping hurts plays but what's killing the team is that someone anointed as the next Rimington consistently snaps the ball high and there are no consequences. Playing favorites when it's obviously hurting the team is an excellent way to kill motivation. Why try hard in practice when you know that you will not be rewarded with playing time? If the coaches continue to play a player that is hurting the team, maybe winning isn't important to the coaches so why should the players care?

    B1G Week 6

The gophers are going to row their boat over us.

    B1G Week 6

    They were playing Michigan...
  11. Minnesota looks good against Illinois. Illinois lost Peters their starting QB.
  12. We're not good at NW ball, bad matchup for us.
  13. I always thought the shuffling Williams was teaching the WRs prior to taking off was a waste of time. All the defender has to do is wait for the WR to stop doing his dance and then defend him based on which direction he ultimately goes.

  15. Very important. You can't expect an overweight high school football player with a basketball player frame to develop into a good offensive lineman. I believe back in the day they would take body measurements of a recruit when they came for a visit. They were probably trying to find the endomorph body types.
  16. It's almost predictable due to it being unexpected while providing maximum disappointment for us fans. NW offense hasn't looked good so naturally they light up our defense. We know we can't turn the ball over and have a lot of penalties so of course that is what happens. Another close game with the purple people that either team could win.
  17. Wow, it's like you live in the real world and not some fantasy world where one can change the rules and believe everything will work out. Atomic bomb is accurate. Boosters will either pay for play or watch their college be left behind. It does make life easier for ADs. Instead of soliciting funds from boosters for facility upgrades and whatnot the boosters can just buy their favorite players. The B1G really needs to get rid of the guaranteed 4 yr scholarship. It's not fair to be saddled with a player for that long that isn't performing up to their pay. The 4 yr deal is an antiquated notion that doesn't fit with the new college model.
  18. Speed bump fights back! I'd rather the team learn how to stop getting ran over instead of playing dirty.
  19. A couple million subscribers on Youtube pulls in a lot of money. Let's get the Nebraska bots fine tuned. The athletes can post videos of themselves studying.
  20. Schools would be stupid to not utilize this to draw in top talent. I'd say the potential for abuse is high but there are no limits to abuse. It's going to be extremely humorous when some no name school with a rich booster wins a NC. If this goes through then I'll give CFB the same interest as other professional sports which is to say none.
  21. We should go ahead and hire a marketing/agent guy in the athletic department to bring local businesses and players together. You could probably film about 50 players for a 1 second spot at the end of a car dealer commercial in less then a day and pay the players $20K each. That will help with recruiting.
  22. They pointed out on BTN yesterday the Schiano had good seasons when Rutgers was still in Big East. He won't have those kind of seasons for a long time now that they are in the B1G, east. Is he a better coach than Ash? IDK but they might be losing time by switching horses.
