  1. How is everyone watching this game? It is not being televised, I don't think.
  2. This game is listed as ESPNU/WatchESPN... is this not being shown on T.V.?
  3. There's no chance we medical redshirt him, huh? Probably not, but a turf toe is a season long injury. Knowing this, we've already seen the best of Martinez :/
  4. Don't listen to the fans on these boards, UGA fans. It makes me sick how childish the majority of Huskers fans are on this site with their comments. I can hardly venture on this site because it is sifting through crap dogging other teams and their fans. Unfortunately it's really the only board for my team and so it's my news source. Just know it isn't reflected in the general fan base.
  5. That's cool, you can think this. But win or lose for the Bruins saturday, don't drop your man card by not coming here. You better be here after the game to back up this post or you're nothing.
  6. Why risk it? Because if NU seriously wants Rex to have a legitimate shot the Heisman then he'll need to be a dominant force in every single big game moment. The 50+ yard TD run against Southern Miss was a good start. But he needs consistent, big time performances against marquee teams to have a real shot at winning the Heisman. F***. THE. F***ING. HEISMAN. Seriously. This damn heisman talk reminds me of the B1G schools obsessing over the Rose Bowl. National Championship game? No thanks, we want to play in the Rose Bowl! The mere fact that anyone thinks that over-hyped individual award is so important that it's worth risking further injury to a player NU definitely needs to be healthy to help his team is just mind-blowing. I'm not just focusing this on you, 'skers. I'm not guilty on hyping this up, but I still contribute posts that no doubt feed the beast that is 'living in the world of astronomical expectations.' This is just becoming an epidemic upon Husker fans. We hear about how the team is playing for each other, but then the fans and media want to individualize them. Rex goes down? No problem! Taylor Martinez for heisman! Who will it be next week? Who can we distract and heap a ton of pressure on next? Geez, it's no wonder players and coaches stay away from message boards and newspapers. If I was them, I'd want to blow my brains out after reading the stuff that's out there. Someone buy this man a beer.
  7. I'd be surprised to see us win this game comfortably. Even though they're not returning many starters, this is a good team, the best team we have for OOC games this year. Still, I have full faith we'll win.
  8. It's on Fox http://www.huskers.c...3&db_oem_id=100 http://www.lsufootba.../tvschedule.htm Okay, thank you. Makes me feel better now.
  9. Looking off ESPN's website, it seems that none of the sports channels are picking up the UCLA-Nebraska game (ABC, ESPN,2,3,U, B1G Network). Will it be picked up later? What's the deal?
  10. I'm counting on it, but I'd still rather: put the ball in Bell's/Enunwa's/Turner's/Reed's hands, and let Rex take maximum carries in the run game rather than: Rex take targets away from those four, and Abdullah get carries in Rex's place. So much explosiveness in our receiving core right now.
  11. Rose, Love, Valentine, and now another Rose for our future starting defense. Quite the defense there. O_o
  12. We have the best receiving targets in the conference (WR: Bell, Enunwa, Turner / TE: Reed), if Burkhead finishes second, than three of those receiving targets are being sorely under used. I like a running offense as much as the next guy, but our best chance to have a winning offense is to get the ball in these playmakers hands as much as possible. If these guys could all have 5+ touches a game, that will maximize our play making ability. Abdullah didn't show much in the run game last year (3.6 ypc), so if he and Heard/Cross don't step it up, Rex is going to have another full work load like last year, and would be ineffective getting more than 5 catches a game.
  13. I know it's David, but that picture just doesn't look right ha. I'd be far more surprised if he wasn't impressing. He's just a gamer.
  14. Just think, in 07 we could only get I Bleed Red and his playing credentials to post on this board. Now we're getting coaches! Progress! Absolutely! True-blue cfb coaches who just can't understand why one qb plays a lot more than the other. It just doesn't get any better! Why is there need for personal attacks? (awaits personal attack)
  15. I don't remember Ryne Reeves starting (or even playing, but he might have). And you're missing Abdullah. Also, it's too bad Quincy Enunwa is on this list :/ The question I'm really interested in is if Cross can beat out Abdullah and Heard for #2. I really love power backs and even though Ameer was pretty electric on kickoffs and on a few runs, I don't care for him as our #2. I really want to see Cross play or Heard step it up.
  16. Don't take it too hard. I've felt the same way one time when I was making a point on something I believed in but was in the minority. Say what you believe.
  17. The better question is, is will Carnes take over in 2014 (when Taylor's graduated and Carnes is a senior) or will we go with Armstrong or Stanton in favor of him?
  18. From what little we saw of Carnes last year, he's not even close to Martinez. He looked horrible in the option game, both on his pitches and his reads (not to mention he's much slower than Martinez). Our offense runs a lot of option, so Carnes' inability to run it effectively (or at least close to Martinez' ability) hinders him greatly. Not to mention Martinez has been the starter for two years now, and has two years left. He has been building a rapport with our current receivers for two years now. That chemistry (especially next year when they've all played three years together) will pay dividends.
  19. Not sure if I'm sipping the kool-aid this year; I see us being another 3-4 loss team. But that's not bad at all. This squad is young and we have almost no seniors starting this year. If Abdullah can shine, or maybe even Heard, than next year will be our time to shine. It'll be Martinez' senior year, well have a much more experienced squad, and a much easier schedule. But for this year, if we can pull off wins versus both Michigan and Michigan State, we'll be likely to face Wisconsin in Indianapolis, which is where the fun will start.
  20. ^ Yeah, but if you have all those players AND a TE, that'd be 12 men.
  21. I am a member of this other football site that I go to, and recently I've made two Husker sigs for my account there. Does anyone think one looks better (preference) than the other? Burkhead: David & Jamal Turner
  22. Does anyone know, is Martin still playing OLB or is he back at DE?
  23. And honestly, if you want to talk about killing tradition (which is stupid, because tradition is made by memories, atmosphere, pride, the team, effort, and everything that goes into this team and state . . . . . not a piece of fabric) the 02 jersey's with the white/red pipe on the jerseys (with many other minor changes) was so much worse than these. Mainly because they were actually for a whole season.
  24. Um what? Lol, this is such a small issue in the big picture. You'll stop supporting the players, the coaches, the university, the team . . . and you'll miss out on the biggest scheduled game of the year . . just because we changed our jerseys a little for one game? XD Tradition is not a SMALL issue to me. My family has had these seats for 20+ years, and we have attended all but a handful of games in all those years. Maybe if they spent the time and money on getting the crowd into it, instead of "hey look at me on TV"; we might win this game. Nebraska tradition is in the university's blood, not the jerseys.
