not to over simplify it but both our o and d lines r complete garbage. despite football being spread/air it out these days, you still need quality to elite line play, on both sides to make it work. We havent placed quality O or d line guys to the NFL for now 10 years and the record follows that incompetence. Rebuild the lines and getting back to respectability happens a lot quicker

Exactly. Washington was months ahead in talks, had an interim coach and moved fast. Trev was in no place to can frosty mid year last year given how new he was. There’s no way we’d even get a chat with deboer, he was already way too deep with UW

This whole Defense is a huge problem. we don’t have a d line to pressure qb or first line to stop the run. Our secondary is trash. The LBs can’t be expected to be the first one to touch the rb and cover the whole field

To be clear, my expectations r a consistent 9-10 win team, in the running for the west and 1-2 years out of 10 s#!t comes together for a nice run. sorry to say it but there isn’t a coach we woulda brought in last year with all those other big time schools competing for the same coaches that woulda been a for sure guy to do this

A rebuild isn’t a rebuild anymore. Look at Riley and usc, Tucker at msu. Urban doesn’t need 3-4 recruiting cycles like before. Between the transfer portal, NIL and his coaching chops/track record in college he’d have us as a 9 win team in year 1

I could rattle off about 5 things that needs improvement before I list the linebackers In no particular order: the o line The secondary our DC a DT swagger- we’re so f#&%ing weak

Are you on this board for morals and guidance on how to live a wholesome life or are you on this board because you're addicted to a football progrum that deseparately needs a return to excellence to fill your fall saturdays with wins and arrogance the rest of the week? For me, its the latter, if we can bring in Urban, one of the most successful and winningest coaches in CFB history, you f'n do it and worry about the consequences later

I'd love it if it was both.. Urban HC and mickey stays on an assistant HC/HC waiting to be... similar to what stoops did with riley and to an extent, urban had with Day. Realistic? probably not... but gimme somone like urban (if he's interested) in building what a great program should look like, then when hes burnt out he's handing it off to someone who learned a thing or 2 from the guy and can continue the excellence in place

I just hope we see a defense with a pulse. Perhaps one that actually covers receivers at the line and not just play overtop by 5-7 yards in the secondary. We're out here acting like we're squaring up against patrick mahomes every week giving up hail marys of 60+ yards meanwhile FCS level qbs are cutting us up with 5-7 yard slants that most high school qbs can complete

There's no way in hell chins is on this staff beyond the end of this year, regardless if its Mickey Joseph or Mickey Mouse as our headcoach
