  1. I have said this all along. https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/947580?src=mkm_covid_update_210316_MSCPEDIT&uac=211987EJ&impID=3252914&faf=1 A study evaluating asymptomatic adults for COVID-19 would add another 16 million to the total number of SARS-CoV-2 infections in the United States, at least up to September 2020. The finding would "double the number who have been infected with COVID-19 compared to the number of clinically diagnosed cases"
  2. Thanks for your comments. I too think even once in a while is too much, but do think that a narrative that those acts are perpetrated based solely on race is not accurate.

  4. Unarmed is one portion of the graph. And, if you think that violent crime doesn't occur unless you are armed, you are mistaken.
  5. If 13 percent commit over 50 percent of violent crime, they have 4 times more chance to negatively interact with police than their representative number. It has everything to do with the discussion, and you are using deflection rather than say that there is a factual correlation because it doesn't fit your narrative.
  6. It was a stand alone chart containing information about black people being killed by police (not just unarmed) and alleges that it is in disproportionate amounts. I pointed out that one answer is likely that black people commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime...hence the heightened numbers in Red's reference. If one group is responsible for 4 times the violent crime than their population in society it stands to reason.
  7. Look at @RedDenverchart again. It compares 2 different topics. One of those is unarmed killings.
  8. I agree with your assessment...now, get out the tarot cards and tell me when to move my 401k money
  9. Thank you for those links. I agree that there are definitely inconsistencies regarding incarceration and sentencing. Those should be studied and changed for the better. But you cannot in good faith say that 13% of the population committing over 50% of homicides and other violent crime is completely a racism/systemic issue.
  10. Maybe...crazy thought here...because black people commit more violent crime? Lot's of folks on here go on about the Occam's Razor scrutiny regarding other topics. Maybe that works for this topic as well.
  11. Yeah...if you could let me know when the market will turn the other way off into the distance...that would be great. (said in best Bill Lumbergh voice)
  12. I have to ask you to explain that. So if you have provided counter statistics for the percentages I posted, previously, I apologize in advance.
  13. I know this has been discussed before, but stats like this leave out an obvious contributing factor. As your graph shows, AA make up approximately 13% of the US population. And, I am not trying to say that unjustified killings by police (any race) are okay...because they're not. https://www.ojjdp.gov/ojstatbb/crime/ucr.asp?table_in=2 Black perpetrators account for: 40% of all weapons crimes 37% of all violent crimes 51% of all murders 53% off all robberies
  14. You are correct. Badly worded on my part. My inference was disagreement regarding what the changes (from human activity) will produce for results and how dire the results will be.
  15. I don't know of anyone that says the climate isn't constantly changing. (Note how it used to be called Global Warming...but that has morphed into Climate Change) The only disagreement, as I see it, is the amount that human activity has influenced that change. And, I have seen compelling arguments for both sides.
  16. Lots of stuff on Twitter is disingenuous or misleading. But it can also be true, right? I believe @Scarletadded the graph portion.
  17. It definitely came up during the primaries...from just about anyone that watched the debates
  18. The wife and I watched it Tuesday night. I was left with much of the same perspective as you. I was intrigued by the real life aspect, and interested in the use of "real people" on what is actually a Spinal Tap style mockumentary. McDormand is a treasure, some of the scenery is gorgeous, but overall mostly "meh".
  19. I read it as it would be prescribed and given by their physicians after it was determined that they had contracted the virus
