  1. Welp... (Edit: 1000 people in an online poll is not real indicative)
  2. Agreed. Folks like Sasse and Romney need to get a bunch of others behind them and call her a whackadoodle on the record.

  4. So this is obnoxious, but you insisting that my best friend, whom you have never met, is stupid and brainwashed, when I assured you isnt accurate, because of his views is not obnoxious. Got it.
  5. Why don't you help me out? Are you saying that is not accurate?
  6. 1988 Ever wonder how the notion of a President Trump got started in the first place? You can thank a GOP activist named Mike Dunbar for hatching the idea. Dunbar, from New Hampshire, wasn't exactly thrilled with his party's slate of White House hopefuls in the summer of 1987. Vice President Bush and Senate Minority Leader Bob Dole of Kansas? "Those guys are duds," Dunbar told the Associated Press in an interview at the time. Thus, the Draft Trump movement was born. "I figure Trump has what it takes," Dunbar told AP. While the real estate tycoon maintained he didn't envision running in 1988, he did make a trip to New Hampshire in October 1987 where, according to an account fromThe Philadelphia Inquirer, he ripped into Japan and Kuwait and said the Ayatollah Khomeini made Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev "look like a baby." Years later, Trump would tell Boston.com that the heady days of the 1987 Draft Trump movement might have "planted the seed" for his later moves toward a presidential campaign. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2015/06/15/donald-trump-president-campaign/81230050/
  7. There is not an ounce of aggressiveness in my responses, and I am not defending Trump. I never have regarding Covid. I have no idea if you did or didn't support the travel ban. That's why I asked. And no, this was specifically in regards to the ban at the beginning of Covid, but good deflection. Regarding specifics, I don't have any handy, other than a running diatribe from Dems (not general public, I am talking politicians) that no matter what Trump said or did, it was wrong. Trump's response was bad and the bleach and HCQ episodes prove he didn't need help in making himself look stupid. But other than promoting mask wearing earlier and with more conviction, no one has been able to say what a Dem POTUS would have done any differently. State responses differed, and States were in charge of their own mandates. You cannot blame the POTUS (regardless of who it would have been) for State results. I will try to find the quote, and I will admit it may not have been you. But within the last couple of weeks you or @commandoor @Moirainesaid that it was hard to believe you were saying it, but without Covid he probably would have won reelection. You may not have said that ONLY Rep's made it political, but I sure don't recall you calling out anything against the left, which comes as no surprise. I always read what you write, because you comment more than anyone else. I was not insinuating anything other than your dreaded term "both sides" used the entire pandemic to further their political goals.
  8. Do you agree then that when Trump implemented a travel ban to prevent the virus from coming to the US, that it was a good move? Or did you jump on the "that's racist" bandwagon? Do you also feel that Democratic leadership did their best to assuage that situation?... or did they use Trump "misinformation campaign" , and continually fan the flames to assist them politically and get Trump ousted? Because it worked, and as you yourself have commented, that were it not for Covid, Trump would have been re-elected. But sure, only Republicans made it political.
  9. Partly tongue in cheek, yes, But, it got political, from opposite ends, back in February with the travel ban kerfluffle and SanFranNan telling folks to come on down to Chinatown...
  10. A moat would add work to the site security team on a daily basis. But it would also add to the overall beauty of the Capitol, while adding security from the masses. But it would certainly be more effective than a fence, which also detracts from the aesthetics.
  11. The bold are hilarious. Conservatives in the Midwest boycotting those things is a sham. They may have said it, but they didn't really do it. Folks in my circle were like "Yeah, I will never watch the NFL again" I am sure the NFL didn't lose much sleep...and they are all back to watching the NFL lol
  12. Trump definitely may have screwed the pooch on the response...but it was definitely the D's that made it political
  13. My thoughts as well. Just wondering why others insist on characterizing, or labeling, them as such in every reference...

  15. I thought you were one of the posters that referenced cutting people out of your life due to differing views. I must have been mistaken.
  16. Definitely right, I was not trying to put anyone down if they have chosen to do so. I am also sorry to hear about your cousin, and the position he put you in. I was absolutely making reference to family/friends more like your in-laws example.
