  1. The consensus here seems to be that the refs are playing QB for Iowa. Maybe one of the refs will go out for a pass.
  2. Offense is gonna have to decide if they want to play today. So far it's been Tommy's decision-making and the playmakers not getting the ball.
  3. So far it kinda looks like we're pissing this one away.
  4. There is excitement now because we have an opportunity to finish strong. If we lose to Iowa, I doubt there will be a great deal of excitement to see the Huskers in a bowl. Yeah ,I agree....a strong finish would really help this team's confidence. Still think there are too many Bowls if .500 teams are getting in.
  5. We need to beat Iowa because.....it's the right thing to do. Besides, what else will they be doing that day?
  6. Yeah, I don't know how they see this at this point. I still think the network wants Ohio State, not Iowa,....but now Iowa winning out gives them the best chance for clear top 4. Who knows, maybe it won't be rigged at all and the gamblers will feel confident that they're not being jobbed. I'm sure they'd be just as happy if Clemson took out a BIG opponent in the first round no matter who it is. Heck, maybe Iowa is for real and wins it all?? Let's all watch to see if the ref has a hand on the flag every time a big play starts to break........or if the OC comes down with temporary insanity on 3rd and 2.
  7. I take it there are a lot of fans who will be excited to see a 5-7 team play in a Bowl? If you ask me there are about 10 too many Bowls. I wouldn't mind going to the Smurf Bowl just for laughs, I guess. I still think you need to be at least 7-5 or 8-4 to say you earned something.
  8. The forecast is chance of light snow, 33 degrees, breezy......... breezy is the worst part. Sounds like normal football weather.
  9. Did Ganz play in the NFL? I think Tommy would have to go see the Wizard, take the witches broom with him, and get some kind of magical transformation to have any chance at playing QB in the NFL. Dual-threat QB's usually don't play in the NFL....even our best dual-threats haven't made it. Better to try what Frosty did, learn to be a really good safety. Maybe I should start a thread asking whether Ganz would have made the NFL if he had been as big, strong and fast as Tommy. That would make more sense because Joe is a gamer and with more physical skills would be the Favre type that a lot of NFL teams are looking for.

  11. ...and every group that feels perpetually aggrieved over anything and everything will see this incident in that exact same way and let it die a quiet death...like they do at Missouri...or Dartmouth... Yeah, but they cry wolf so much nobody cares.
  12. We really need to drop this until they come up with some specific charges against someone we've heard of. From a distance it sounds like a case that won't go far. If it doesn't involve players, it's a case I don't want to hear about any more.
  13. I do. I think everyone, coaches to players, knows what they have to do and the composure they have to maintain. I don't see any reason we can't win this one.
  14. That's a pretty good looking list of players....I think KC should sign Gordy because of the intangibles he brings to the team, like these guys. Heart is kind of hard to put in a stat.
  15. What happened was they put in the right players and for the most part called the right plays on offense....on defense they stopped playing prevent most of the time and actually took a chance on some creative blitzes, the db's actually looked for the ball, and everyone tackled well. Bought in my ass. They've been waiting all year for the coaches to pull their head out.
  16. I'm sure it's a scam in the sense that the big money people do their best to get the big money teams and eliminate the outback teams with 12 fans. It's a royal scam.
  17. Piscataway rhymes with pissthataway.....that'll come in handy some day.
  18. That's the problem with this coaching staff. Riley said he was not going to force his system on these players and he has done nothing but square peg/round hole it, since he got to Lincoln. That's why he's not a good coach. This is easily a 9-win team if he coaches it correctly. However, he has been stubborn and consistently tried to make this team the Nebraska Beavers. It hasn't worked. It's not the Nebraska Huskers either....it's the Nebraska Cornhuskers.....BRING BACK THE CORN!!!!!! BRING BACK FARMER HERBIE!!!!
  19. If Joe Namath had been young and healthy those last 4 minutes of the first half, it wouldn't have been close.
  20. Except for the last 4 minutes of the first half when Joe Namath ran onto the field and started flinging the ball around, that was a great game; the kind of team we expected to see all year. Somebody needs to tell Namath it's over.
  21. Langs and banker are still on the field. Anything can happen. Look to air it out.
  22. Rutgers got stomped by the top teams but they put up pretty good numbers against the middling teams. We better come to play and not be goofing around. Would be nice to see the defense hold a team under 1000.
