  1. I just happened to watch this movie last weekend and thought the same thing. One thing of note, the prayer rugs that Trump mentioned were first brought up by a rancher that claimed he found them on his property. So it's conceivable that Trump took his info from a farmer that watched Sicario. Which, now that I think of it, is way worse than watching the movie on his own.
  2. I wonder if they knew they were only going to get $15K for their likeness and also kill an entire video game platform would they do it all over again.
  3. It was -26 temp (-43 wind chill) when I left my house this morning. Such is life.
  4. Yeah. How dare we Democrats want to give working people every opportunity to vote?!?
  5. There might have been some Republicans in the House that would have changed course once they saw the Senate vote 100-0. Not holding my breath or anything. But a chance.
  6. You're right that the president didn't have the power. I guess what I was thinking is if a law were passed that mandated the Senate to vote on a veto override if the initial vote was, say 2/3 in favor to begin with. This would take the power out of the hands of the Senate majority leader to block that vote.
  7. Totally normal to contradict your intelligence people
  8. Foxconn did not receive a $9.5M payment from Wisconsin due to hiring only 178 of the 250 people needed to secure the money. Still can't seem to find anything about how much up front money they received
  9. If there is a law passed so that the President can't hold the country hostage like this, then fine, figure it out. But I'm not in favor of there being a law that prevents a shutdown all together. Then there is no incentive for them ever to work together.
  10. Contact your Republican member of Congress...
  11. Personally I would have told the person complaining to shut the f#&% up
  12. "Earlier this month, Foxconn, a major supplier to Apple, reiterated its intention to create 13,000 jobs in Wisconsin, but said it had slowed its pace of hiring. The company initially said it expected to employ about 5,200 people by the end of 2020; a company source said that figure now looks likely to be closer to 1,000 workers." "Heavily criticized in some quarters, the Foxconn project was championed by former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, a Republican who helped secure around $4 billion in tax breaks and other incentives before leaving office. Critics of the deal, including a number of Democrats, called it a corporate giveaway that would never result in the promised manufacturing jobs and posed serious environmental risks." JOBS JOBS JOBBED!
  13. No idea what a Pendragon is but that's what they are Edit: UPDATE. This is what a Pendragon is but it has zero to do with dragons. Which is their mascot. Pen·drag·on Dictionary result for Pendragon /ˌpenˈdraɡən/ noun a title given to an ancient British or Welsh prince holding or claiming supreme power.
  14. But if the info is from PoPo's, then there is a chance people have food poisoning and are hallucinating from the fever. Pender Pendragons to be precise.
  15. It's an old, stupid joke by an old, stupid man aimed to make old, stupid people laugh.
  16. I would do this if it weren't for the fact that the speech is the evening before I have surgery. I nominate @Moiraine to do this and live post as it's happening.
  17. If there is anything I've learned in sports it's that when someone has to come out publicly with a vote of confidence about a coach, AD, etc, the clock starts ticking.
  18. Absolutely correct. Ironically, Perlman went to a different former Husker, now AD, to get advice on who to hire-Barry Alvarez.
  19. Right. And I'm not saying that either of these guys would have taken the job but the fact that there wasn't even a chance is very telling.
