  1. And we all know how bad we need someone good returning kicks and punts. If this is the guy and he is willing to put in the work, then I am good with it.
  2. They beat NU a while back in a bowl game. When was the last time we (NU) won a conference title.. 13 years! Get off the high horse... this is the new Huskers (not the legendary old Huskers) and our program is not substantially better (currently) than Old Miss... not if you factor strength of competition and all. NU is better... but not by that much. Not enough, anyway, to see it as being overly different. When was the last time Ole MIss even made it to their confrence championship game? And good for them they beat one of the shittest NU teams in the last 20 years, with Eli Manning at QB. I'm not on a high horse, just stating what everybody already knows. There is nothing better at Ole Miss than Nebraska with regards to Athletics. The argument that NU is not what we once were is invalid because Ole Miss is a NEVER WAS.
  3. I am not happy with the roster mismanagement...especially with what happened to Heard. He will be missed, but NEB is landing the players that can potentially step up and fill the void quickly. I don't think it's fair to call it roster mis-management. If Heard was better than Abdullah or even Burkhead for that matter, he would have found himself on the field more. Plain and simple. There is no way in hell the coaches kept him off the field due to mis-management. He had the signs of a hell of a RB but maybe he just wasn't what the coaches were looking for. I will give him the most credit to being a team player the first 2 years with switchin positions.
  4. Dont you ever say that Ekeler was good again. Now go was your mouth out. That dude came almost as close as John Blake did in getting us on probation with the NCAA. I remember this. It's funny when you see people say we need a guy who knows how to toe the line in recruiting, well Ek was that guy. Believe it was either the Charles Jackson or the Tevin Mitchell recruitment that got him canned IIRC. Can someone elaborate on this a little further? Being fairly new to recruiting I have not spent a lot of time reading into what was done in the past.
  5. If we never play Texas or have any dealings with them ever again, I will not shed any tears. It's was well thought out but I would not be excited about it if Texas is involved.
  6. Transfers are the norm anymore. I think that some players want to win and some players want to be the guy. Bama, Georgia, Wisconsin, Oregon..those RB's want to win no matter the carries, yards, td's, etc. If Heard leaves, coupled with Green leaving, I think you see who wants to win and who just wants to be the guy. With the RB'S we recruited this year, they show signs of just wanting to win because they knew the other was going to be here and could have picked a different school. Time will tell of course.
  7. haha. It was a joke, dude. Lighten up. He played in Louisiana, so yes, I would assume that a majority of his competition was athletic (black) Look. I just thought it was a tasteless comment. I would think that if the player looked at this, they cold be turned off by the comment. I am all for comments based on their play, good or bad, but race should not be part of it. Joking or otherwise. I don't want to get into a pissing contest about it. What was said was said and we should get back to discussing the player on his thread.
  8. What this looks like to me is the first year in the B1G. Rex was a Jr like Ameer will be. Rex had 3 true freshmen as backups and we saw them all on the field. Ameer will have a So and 2 true Fr as backups. As much as I liked Heards speed and team play, I can't bring myself to believe that we will miss a step. Ameer carried the vast majority of the load last year and Cross was the main backup. Heard was hampered by injury or whatever so he was not a MAJOR contributor.
  9. Not sure you are helping the thread either.
  10. black. Care to explain your answer? African-American lol Wow. His level of competition was black players. Thanks for bringing the level of intelligence of Husker Board down several notches.
  11. NOOOOOIOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Unless Coach Joseph tweets BOOM! I refuse to believe anything especially from the Hed preDICKtor! I refuse to believe that anyone on this board needs to go to these personal attacks ... We say we are the greatest fans on earth ... and we treat our own like ****! Sickning ... makes me feel like I'm a Pastor all over again ... it's the sheep that bite the hardest ... and when you are not looking or expecting. Apology to you Hedley. I give Headley sh#t all the time! It's how he knows I like him! He knows! Calm down Marcus! And you also spelled Sickening wrong.
  12. His picture on 247 looks like Jared Crick
  13. I blame Pedersen more than Callahan for the debacle that was his coaching tenure. Had Pedersen looked into how he coached the Raiders the year after the Super Bowl instead of just having the lasers pointed directly at the need of an NFL coach, I think things might have worked out differently.
  14. Bo, Beck, and Els have Ohio connections. So I am not worried about that. They were recruiting in Ohio prior to Marrow becoming a GA. And Marrow didn't recruit every Ohio kid we have now. I don't think he was even the lead recruiter for Greg Hart and that was his "coaching" position. So I don't think we will lose much of the groundwork that has been set. Also, Marrow has been credited for kids leaving our class this year. One being a guy the staff didn't even want and now McWilson. I would say we will be okay. As for Sandland, I would have been more upset if he had gone to Kentucky. But if he wants to wallow in a cesspool of an empty stadium with infractions looming over the team, more power to him. We wouldn't have landed Sandland even if Marrow would have stayed here. He showed little interest and I think most of it was for attention. If it was all about Marrow, wouldn't you think Sandland would have made a visit to Kentucky? No because he couldnt get into the SEC schools because of a math class he took online, the SEC didn't recognize it. And yes, we would've gotten him if Marrow didn't leave. Sandland said he wanted to play for Marrow. Good call. I forgot about that.
  15. This sounds a little far-fetched. How so? Its been rumored for the last few years that they were trying to move him to an office position. Bo just doesnt fire people when they are doing a good job but not what he wants see Shawn Watson, Ekler, Gilmore, Sanders It seems far-fetched that the new AD would start his tenure here by stepping in the way of the Head Coach to shuffle staff around even when the current AD signed off on it. I am not saying it didn't happen, it just seems that this would be farther down the ladder of issues to get into a pissing contest about. I live in Minnesota so I defer to alot of you guys that have better sources to drop knowledge on the rest of us. A lot of you do very good work here.

If it was all about Marrow, wouldn't you think Sandland would have made a visit to Kentucky? That was my point. I don't think Sandland was going to come here regardless. I think Marrow leaving was a good excuse to eliminate us from contention. But had we really been in it for him and then we have something happen like a McWilson situation, I would be more upset. Sandland made his bed, and now he will lie in it.
  17. I wonder if the University has someone employed on the football staff to record stats. If they do, that person should be fired and we should just let the OWH let Dirk keep writing stat filled articles on how we are not as good a a NC. This way we could free up the cash that is needed to keep our assistants paid well. I really don't care one way or another about Dirk but these articles he is writing are stupid. It doesn't take someone with a journalism degree or any degree for that matter to understand what we saw on television this past year. Turnovers hurt your team. And the less you turn the ball over and the more you force your opponent to turnover, the better you are. Wow summed up his whole article in 2 sentences.

  19. If this player flipped this quickly after a year of being a commit to us, I don't believe there was anything the coaches could have done. Hopefully the in-home with TJ, will do some good. But all in all, I don't see where the coaches are at fault.
  20. \ YES< YES Someone on twitter needs to do this He has been a commit for almost a year. I think he knows by now what our stadium looks like filled up
  21. If he has been committed to us for a year and in one weekend Kentucky of all schools can flip him, I tend to wonder about how solid he really was. I mean, he turned down Meyer and tOSU and now all of a sudden UK is getting a strong look. The only reasons I can see him flipping is #1, feels more secure about he competition level at UK. And #2, less of a spotlight in UK vs NU which kind of plays into his thought process of avoiding the recruitment spectrum. I have had many beers tonight so maybe I don't know what I am saying but it sounded good at the time
  22. I think you have to go with Irving Fryar and Johnny Rogers as the top 2 just because no one else accomplished what these 2 did at Nebraska in their respective generations. After that I think you can just about fill in #3 to whatever number you choose for the other good receivers. For RB's, I would pick Marlon Lucky, Brandon Jackson, Rex Burkhead. No particular order but these 3 were damn good at catching. TE's: Johnny Mitchell and Matt Herian would be my #1 and #2.
