  1. The government should always be as small as possible with the least amount of intrusion into our lives as possible and the lowest taxes possible. Now, the government still needs to do what it needs to do and be funded. This is where Republicans falter. They believe that all government is bad....which isn't true. It's actually a necessary part of any society. The debate should just be about what the government needs to do and how to fund it.
  2. My comment was more about how (rightfully so) the left has slammed the Trump administration about statements that are similar. I would have thought someone like her would be more careful. Trying to convince people that the facts really aren't that important......
  3. Wait....I didn't know she was in the Trump administration. Why can't politicians get their facts right when they talk?
  4. Kind of like claiming you're going to tax the crap out of the rich and give it to everyone else. Back to the original intent of the thread (this is about the Democrats, not the Republicans). I'm very interested in seeing what budgetary ideas they have. Ocasio-Cortez was asked over the weekend in an interview how she was going to pay for everything she is proposing.....didn't have a good answer.
  5. I think that was the biggest problem with Trump's tax cuts. Republicans acted like they were reducing the tax rate that started at 93%. Reality is, the tax rate they started at (especially hen you throw in what the effective tax rate was) really wasn't an alarmingly high percentage. So, the benefit was minimal at best.
  6. I would need to have more information before I got alarmed.
  7. There's a lot that I can agree with you on in terms of taxes. I think it should be criminal for the government to take what some people propose. There's a lot of RedDenver's post that leaves me uneasy. However, to the bolded, that stat is totally meaningless in this discussion and it's totally misused and misrepresented by the right. LINK
  8. I have no problem with pointing out loonytuneness from both sides. Makes me feel pretty comfortable right in the middle.
  9. I agree with your post. However, I have one correction above. For instance, Iowa is a very similar team to us as far as talent and ability. We were in their house. It's tough to win on the road in the Big Ten. Yes, we could have won that game. We didn't. That sucks. And...as for Heiman, I really think we would see more of him if he wasn't fouling about every 10 seconds while in the game.
  10. Ranks right up there with a waitress calling me "honey" or "Sweety".
  11. Why should his play be scrutinized any more than any other player's? They were only 5 for 16 in third down conversions. They only ran the ball for 65 yards. Prince's tweet was on point.
  12. I believe I was the first one who referenced Bell in this thread and it was appropriate at the time. The discussion was if Mills looked like the #1 back in JUCO. My point was, that last year we started the year with another previous #1 JUCO back......and that player didn't look too great either. My comment was solely on the rankings of JUCO players and how sometimes they can be not what they seem. Then....the thread took it into a totally different direction that wasn't needed.
  13. Chris obviously didn’t get the talking points memo.
  14. This reminded me a time when driving the family to church, we came across a woman walking down the street badly bleeding. She had had worked all night as a nurse and got home 10 minutes late in the morning. Her husband beat the crap out of her. I was absolutely sick to my stomach pissed off at someone who could to that. I also was the first to the scene of a couple accidents I forgot.
  15. I think I saw a poll not too long ago that showed the military is only a little more pro trump than the general population. And, I believe the generals and other officers are NOT fans.
