  1. I'm getting more and more excited about this hire. When you look at what OSU was before he got there, he has to be on hell of a coach/manager/recruiter to do as well as he has done.
  2. I'm trying to see the method to the madness here. There is a way I can get excited about this. He is obviously a very experienced HC. He knows how to manage a program. He has not been in a program with anywhere close to the resources we have. Sooooo.....let's get him here and then spend a huge amount on coordinators and assistants around him. This could work.
  3. I actually completely believe Tressel when he says he will never coach again. He spent many many years catering to prema-donna 18 year old kids thinking they are entitled to everything simply because they can run fast and play football. Along with that, he has had to cater to spoiled fans who think they are entitled to demanding his job if he doesn't do things exactly right. NOW, he has a very nice job actually working with adults and a more mature working environment. I would be shocked if he coaches ever again. PS....I would be much less surprised if he was hired as the University President.
  4. Who gives a rip and why is this such big news? If anything, it should be news that Bo hasn't paid for it. He is the one getting 7 figures to walk away.
  5. So, I'm confused on something. Is this his choice to not coach the bowl game or the program's choice? If it's the program's, who made that choice? If it's his choice, doesn't he forfeit any additional money he should get by being let go?
  6. I beg you to show me where you know this is the "second Callahan debacle".
  7. Well, if true, it just goes down as evidence that I will never understand the mind of a kid that age. He is sitting here in Nebraska at a program where he has a chance to win championships. He is in a position that is very thin and if he works hard he will have major playing time next year. The fan base is just about to get excited about whoever is named head coach. And that coach is going to be thrown one heck of a lot of money because the school really thinks he can win championships. Oh...yeah.....that school just won 9 games. Meanwhile.....he is thinking about going to a school where there is absolutely no chance they win a championship, that school just LOST 7 games getting their azzes kicked by most of those. The school must be perfectly happy with that and the fans are....oh...yeah.....it's a basketball school. I hope he stays. But, if he leaves for Kentucky....well....he obviously is leaving for other reasons than wanting to play for a winner.
  8. Make a decision on who runs the entire University based on emotional fan's opinion of how one sports program is performing.....
  9. I agree. I don't understand why everyone is upset or scared of what Eichorst is doing. Before Bo was fired and he hadn't made any statements, there were people all pissed off at Eichorst before even seeing what he was going to do. Well.....he did what those people wanted ultimately. Let's sit back and enjoy the excitement of who a new coach might be. Enjoy the process instead of jumping to conclusions and convince yourselves that you're already going to be disappointed and upset at who ever it is.
  10. Of coarse they are....they have a coach. No, I'm not impressed with Arkansas. They played 5 teams that are actually ranked NOW. Playing someone early in the year that is highly ranked but then ends up unranked doesn't mean much to me. And, of those 5 that are ranked now, they lost all but to the one that is now ranked 19th. They have wins over Nichols State, Texas Tech, Northern Illinois, UAB (Which I think is dropping it's football program now), LSU (now unranked) and Ol' Miss. Meh...... Even if Pelini was still here.... Arkansas is still so much closer to getting over the hump.... Some count the teams on where they were ranked when you beat them. Even if you just take those 5 teams. They are 1-4, which is better than Nebraska. Bama lost by 1 Miss St lost by 7 Georgia lost by 13 Missouri lost by 7 Ole Miss won by 30. 3 of those games by one touchdown. 2 of those teams have been ranked 1. Ole miss didn't even score a point. Bama got held to there lowest out put of the season. Ummm....I admitted they might be closer to what we want. I'm still not impressed. I believe their coach is in year three. In year three, Bo beat the #7 and #17 teams. He also lost to the # 10 and #18 teams both by 3 points. Look where that ended up going. Hey....if you want to have a pissing match about how good Arkansas is, you can have it with yourself. If you want to claim they are much better than what I think they are....great....I have no need to argue the point and am done with the topic. Let's move on.
  11. Steven M. Sipple retweeted Amy Gill ‏@amygillsports 7m7 minutes ago So yup... Brady Hoke gets fired on the same day Rich Rodriguez wins P12 Coach of the Year. #Michigan This is how coaching changes can get really really weird.
  12. Bryan Munson retweeted Sam Webb ‏@SamWebb77 7m7 minutes ago Source has confirmed that Brady Hoke has been fired from post as #Michigan's head football coach. Team to be briefed during 3pm meeting

  14. Wrong Mississippi school Ahhhh...you are right. His team lost 31-17 to the team that lost 30-0 to ARKANSAS!!!!!!! The same Arkansas team that lost to Alabama by 1(Moral victory....yaaaa....I remember Bo having some of those). The same Arkansas team that lost Mullen by 7. The same Arkansas team that man handled LSU(That same LSU program that isn't that good this year and has 4 losses themselves? That same LSU that is 116th in passing yards and 77th in points for?). The same Arkansas team that hadn't allowed ONE SINGLE POINT in the 9 quarters. And finally the same Arkansas team despite having a 6-5 record had more votes than a 8-3 Nebraska team leading into last week.
  15. Tressel and Meyer failed miserably as a D1A defensive coordinator? That's part of Bohl's route, whether you want to remember it or not. Just talking head coach there. Well then, I'll say it's still part of his history whether you want to acknowledge it or not. I just had a conversation about this with a guy this morning who was adamant that he would be pissed if we hired Bohl because he was so bad here before as DC. My question to him and now to you is......sooooo.....because he wasn't successful at his very first attempt to be a coordinator, he is destined to be a failure the rest of his life at the FBS level?
  16. Something like this wouldn't surprise me. Bo knows defense. He needs someone (a boss) to take him aside though and tell him...."Psssst....Bo....stop the run buddy....then let's worry about the pass"
  17. Wrong Mississippi school Ahhhh...you are right. His team lost 31-17 to the team that lost 30-0 to ARKANSAS!!!!!!!
  18. I actually believe this was a bipartisan effort.
  19. Why is Dan Mullen so great? He is sitting on the same number of losses as Nebraska. One of those losses is 30-0 to......ARKANSAS!!!!!! Not sure why he is such a hot commodity.
  20. I never thought I would say this....but....I REALLY want Mizzou to win.
  21. LINK I believe this is huge and it really isn't getting much play in what media I have at least been reading and listening to. I firmly believe that the spike in gas prices in 06-07 was the pin that pricked the balloon that was the mortgage mess we all witnessed. Way too many people were maxed out in mortgages they shouldn't have had. Their budgets were maxed to the penny. All of a sudden gas prices spike, they are driving around huge gas guzzling SUVs and their bank accounts were milked dry. They couldn't pay their bills and the entire mess collapsed. However, I believe this is an issue that the government has played very very very well. OPEC was milking us for everything. We had absolutely no control over the price of what we were paying for oil. Sooo....we took control. We told the world (and showed them) we are willing to open up drilling on our own land if that is the way you are going to play. We did that. OPEC didn't like it and they started dumping oil on the market to get the price down lower than what it needs to be to make the new drilling technologies profitable. GREAT.....keep it there and we won't use our resources. Spike it again long term and we start drilling again. Suck it OPEC!!!!!! MEANWHILE....we need to be developing more and more alternative resources away from oil and increasing fuel mileage...thus....still decreasing our usage. Well played Americans....well played. Also, the additional money in American's bank accounts will help the US in many many ways.
