  1. I was thinking about this just this morning the highlights of the Purdue game. After watching the Gerry interception in the end zone, my thought was.....wow....what is this guy going to play like when he is a senior? I doubt if Bo (or anyone) knows what Gregory is going to do after the season yet. I wouldn't expect him to say anything different and I don't have a problem with that. Even if he isn't 100%, we need to give Wisconsin every need to prepare for everything.
  2. And...here we go with the doom and gloom again.
  3. MacBook. It will read everything to me!! lol Hey...that's cool. I have a new Mac and didn't know it did that. Now I just need to change it to a sexy female voice.
  4. I guess I didn't know we put in a whole bunch of new passing plays for Purdue. Was this discussed by the staff or players somewhere?
  5. Now, that's just plain stupid right there. You never pass up a pulled pork sandwich.
  6. I would get so frustrated with fans during the Solich years when they would constantly complain and claim Frank didm't know what he was doing because he runs the option to the short side of the field. They would inevitably make some stupid comment about wish Frank would just do what TO did. I would simply point out that TO did that too. The argument usually ended around then.
  7. Why? Admittedly, OU was in the post I copied and agreed to but it was the weakest part of the post. If we're not in a top tier bowl, I think it would add a little interest to the game to play an old conference foe. If we're in a top tier bowl, bring on whoever, except Georgia. I guess I can see someone thinking that but it's just not for me. I'm over them and there are bigger fish to fry they would mean more in the grand scheme of things.
  8. Better than throwing it with a two touchdown lead in the fourth. Remember that time we ran it four consecutive plays right near the goal line, failed to score anything and injured our Heisman trophy candidate? But then, who doesn't wince every time Beck insists on running the ball? Ha! If you think I was praying for a pass in that situation you've got the wrong guy here. We did exactly what any team should and does do. I was thrilled we ran it four times. What was disappointing was: 1. No push by a Nebraska offensive line 2. Lined up in shotgun/pistol on goal line 3. Fumbled snap 4. No FB lead blocker 5. We didn't score. Interesting. Any team would and should do? I'll remember that while I watch many tes run many different types of plays successfully in that situation. Glad I now know they are all bring stupid.
  9. I don't think you know what refuted means. I think we were pretty sloppy in 5 of our 9 games this year. That's most of the time. Winning 9 games has literally nothing to do with my statement. If I said we lost most of the time, then you'd be onto something. I didn't - you're not. Sloppy football can strike any team at any time. This is true. That's not the point, though. Under Pelini it "just so happens" to strike most of the time, year after year after year. People are starting to consider it more of a trend than some zany, unlucky fluke. There is your entire initial quote. I'm putting there to show the disconnect between your logic and reality. 8-1 season plus Coach Power T's work r-e-f-u-t-e-s "most of the time". And now I am done with this. Carry on. Is there REALLY a substantial difference between "most of the time" and "way too often". Would you go to so much trouble arguing against it if it had originally been posted as "way too often"? That is more subjective, less finite, and IMO quite accurate. Of course, I didn't have much of a problem with "most of the time". Actually, yes when it's paired with the rest of the drastic over reaction and exaggeration that has been on this board the last two days.
  10. I've wondered about that same thing. I don't think that their rabble rousers (see Cruz, Ted) will let them do anything but full scale anti-Obama warfare. So . . . yeah . . . that's not going to do them any favors in 2016. We'll see. The GOP could still win in 2016 if the economic recovery stalls or reverses . . . or if there is some sort of foreign policy crisis/massive terrorist attack. Barring something along those lines the demographics do not look favorable. I'm genuinely interested (and a bit nervous) to see what they do if there is a SCOTUS vacancy. I'd lay odds on a full blown Constitutional crisis if it happens. The only hope the GOP has long term is to be completely destroyed and torn apart in every election until they honestly sit around and wonder WTF??? licking their wounds. THEN...and only then....maybe they will crawl back humbly and ask politely for our votes and actually respect our intelligence. I feel like they are like a junky that just needs to hit rock bottom before they will realize what they are doing to themselves and start trying to fix it.
  11. Myself,I just wish Bo Pelini wasn't such a hater with a troll agenda when he says things like that. Here's the difference. A coach who simply comes out and says he isn't satisfied with the play and they have work to do is different than a group of fans having what literally was a mental melt down after a 3 TD win wanting players kicked off the team and demanding coaches being fired and claiming they just KNOW we are going to lose the all or the majority of the rest of our games.
  12. Why? Admittedly, OU was in the post I copied and agreed to but it was the weakest part of the post.
  13. "Most of the time". See, this is what drives me nuts, this mindless inanity just to prove a point. Pelini is one of only two coaches to win at least nine games each season since 08. Check out this post from another thread by Coach Power T and then reexamine "most of the time": Statistically Nebraska's Offense and Defense points per game stats vs each game individually vs Opponents averages. Without digging too deep into the depths of statistics of team offense and defense. Nebraska Offense average ppg = 40 Opponents Defense average ppg given up. (I rounded up or down the decimal) vs FAU = 35 (we scored 55, +20) vs McNeese = 21 (we scored 31, +10) vs Fresno = 37 (we scored 55, +18) vs Miami = 22 (we scored 41, +19) vs Illinois = 37 (we scored 45, +8) vs Michigan St = 20 (we scored 22, +2) vs Northwestern = 24 (we scored 38, +14) vs Rutgers = 29 (we scored 42, +13) vs Purdue = 32 (we scored 35, +3) despite playing horrible on that side of the ball we were still able to score more than their average on defense. Total = +107 / 9 games = 12 ppg higher than defenses average giving up. Opponents Offense ppg vs our Defense (We give up 20 ppg.) vs FAU = 24 (they scored 7, -17) vs McNeese = 38 (they scored 24, -14) vs Fresno = 27 (they scored 19, -8) vs Miami = 33 (they scored 31, -2) vs Illinois = 27 (they scored 14, -13) vs Michigan St = 46 (they scored 27, -19) vs Northwestern = 19 (they scored 17, -2) vs Rutgers = 24 (they scored 24, +/-0) vs Purdue = 27 (they scored 14, -13) Total = -88 / 9 = 10 ppg lower that offense average scoring. We've consistently beat the averages. Granted I know each average changes each week. Interesting nonetheless if you are a stats guy, like me. Take it for what it's worth. Maybe nothing. Criticize Pelini all you want, but for God's sake keep the hyperbole out of it. No hyperbole at all. We won big against Northwestern, Rutgers, and Purdue. That doesn't mean it wasn't sloppy (the players and coaches seem to agree with me here). Maybe we shouldn't care or talk about it when we play like that against the sisters of the poor, but that undiciplined brand of football continues to prevent us from winning championships. Also, this is me seeing it both ways. I was the first to point out that winning big against this sort of team is preferable to scraping by with a 4th quarter comeback or even losing (which we made a habit of in 2011, 2012, 2013). Although I fully understand the concern from coaches, players, and fans alike. You dodged it. Your phrase "most of the time" was proven wrong by Coach Power T and my point that only Pelini and Saban have at least 9 wins since 08. Sloppy play striking most of the time is refuted. You can't justify your exaggeration by citing what most here agree with, that there are uncorrected problems. Again, criticize the staff all you want, and I will probably agree with more than you would guess. But you diminish your efforts with silly declarations like "most of the time". Demonstrably not true. I don't think you know what refuted means. I think we were pretty sloppy in 5 of our 9 games this year. That's most of the time. Winning 9 games has literally nothing to do with my statement. I'm interested in knowing what 5 games we played that sloppy in. FAU = No...everyone was proclaiming we are winning the world. McNeese State = Yep Miami = Nope...we went in and played very well against a very talented team. Fresno = No, we went out after a big emotional win and took care of business. Illinois = Nope, we were up 31-14 at half. Our defense shuts them down second half. We work in many back ups. Ameer gets over 200 yards with not even getting the majority of carries. MSU = Yep....for three quarters. Northwestern = Naaa....could have been a little crispier but we were playing on the road in the Big Ten and beat the team by 3 TDs. Rutgers = Ameer racks up stats that leaves 100% of the rest of the world jealous. We win by 3 scores. Only one Int. A few plays could have been crisper. But, all in all, we did what we were supposed to do. Purdue = yep So, my count is three games we played sloppy. four games were good. Two were good but could have been better. Now, I think after absolutely every one of these games, we have had fans come on here and claim we are horrible and there is no way we will ever end with a decent record. We obviously suck. Meanwhile, our defense is putting together a very good year and our offense is top 15 in a lot of major categories including scoring (most important). Heck, we even had fans on here this weekend that thought we should kick Armstrong off the team. WTF???? Are there things that I wish were fixed? Sure. But, to say "most games" we played sloppy is an exaggeration.
  14. If the Republicans win the Senate, it would be the worst nightmare for them in 2016. They will spew all over themselves thinking they have a referendum to destroy everything with Obama's name on it and in turn, will turn off about 65-70% of Americans. But, hey, the angry old white guy will be happy. The best case scenario for them would be to gain ground in the Senate but not win it. That way, they don't have this egotistic scorched earth mentality going into 2016 and maybe...just maybe....someone in the party comes to their senses and actually campaigns on ideas and being reasonable and not trying to fill the world with the biggest load of crap ever known to man or beast. And, no, I still can't fathom who in the hell I'm voting for tomorrow.
  15. College is WAY too expensive now for a woman to only go to college to find a husband. Yeah....she would really want to come out of college with thousands of dollars in debt with the chance of getting a husband.
  16. It appears to me that Nebraska is in the top 15 so we're talking about anything and everything that can occur to get them into the top 4. Any other year, at this point we've had a couple bad losses and are out of the picture so the conversation is different. Fine...shrink my number down to the top 10. We still are talking about way more teams and watching way more games that matter this year than if there wasn't a playoff. And, when I say "we", I'm talking about the general football fan public. Not just Husker fans.
  17. It still matters to the players. Read their comments about when they go them. It doesn't matter one pebble what we as fans think.
  18. There is absolutely something lacking between the WRs and the routes they run, and TA. Didn't we hear at the beginning of the year that one of the changes Beck was implementing was giving the receivers more freedom to change their routes to get open? That requires them to be on the same page, all the time. That's obviously not happening - and it's not limited to KB, Westy has been off with TA, Moore, Turner, etc. If you watch all of his INTs, almost every one of them was a good throw the a spot he thought they were going to be and they weren't. Plenty of that is on TA, but something is going on. It's not like he's throwing into triple coverage 6 times a game, or shot putting a long pass that gets picked (martinez). It's a good throw to a spot he thought someone was supposed to be. Thankyou...I agree with both of you. Tommy is not a bad QB. There needs to be something worked out with the WRs on knowing where everyone is going to be. Heck, I have seen the best hall of fame QBS in history throwing into blank space and then having conversations with WRs in the huddle showing they weren't on the same page. It happens. It needs to be reduced as much as possible. But....it happens.
  19. But we would know that someone from the SECw is emerging as the leader of the pack and will play for a playoff spot. It makes no difference whether Arkansas gets in the endzone in the final minute because that in no way derails #1 Mississippi State's playoff run. There will be Egg Bowls and Iron Bowls that don't matter because one has already locked up an SECCG berth. How is that different from the past several decades of college football? This entire "the regular season won't matter anymore" argument is just plain laughable anymore. If we didn't have a playoff, at this point we would probably be simply talking about 3-4 teams that might make it to the championship game. NOW, we are talking about any of the top 15 could some how make it to the championship play off and multiple games every weekend are affecting how that will turn out. It appears to me, there is MORE of the regular season that matters.
  20. Hey.....I'm sure nobody would notice Imani in and think...."they won't run outside"...or notice Newby in and think...."They won't run inside".
  21. Ol Miss should drop out of the top 10. We should move up a couple spots because of Georgia and Arizona. Everyone else from 5 - 10 should basically move up one spot due to Ol Miss dropping out. Based on the previous rankings and how they did this week, I would put my top 4 as.... 1) FSU 2) MSU 3) Auburn 4) Oregon But, that's not what the final 4 will be.
  22. thank for some reason. This is all im trying to say. I understand uneasiness. I don't understand the all out fall apart emotional, we are horrible and going to lose most if not all of the rest of our games....that occurred from some fans this weekend after beating a team by 3 TDs.
  23. True. But, that's how the game of football is done. It's played on the field for one game. You are demonstrating why "opinions" are total BS when it comes to all of this. Sports are meant to be decided on the field of play. Win or lose. Not, in some media or coaches office picking their nose and deciding who is "best". And, let's just say we use your data. If you are comparing teams in this ranking that are, lets say, ranked 5th and 30th, the likelihood of it being correct is much greater than if you are comparing teams ranked in the top 15.
  24. No, that is a guess as to who is better. You don't know until they meet on the field. MSUs only loss is to the # 5 team in the country and they were beating the for 3 quarters of that game. If they play one more quarter, they are undefeated and would be sitting at the top of the rankings. That's one quarter of play against the 5th ranked team in the country. Now, anyone can try to guess who is better. But, that doesn't mean squat until they play a game.
