  1. I don't know about OC. But, I have always said I would take him as QB coach.
  2. 8 teams is perfect. 5 conference champions plus 3 wild cards. There is no reason to have more than three wild cards. I actually don't think we need 3 but it's pretty hard to fill a bracket with 5-7 teams.
  3. I would absolutely love it if PETA decides they need to protest Husker football games outside the stadium. It would be priceless. Gangwish has now become one of my favorite players on the team.
  4. So, what do we see tomorrow night? Cincinnati's only loss right now is to Ol' Miss. They are 6-1. Cincinnati stats rank natinoally Points per game 279th Rebounds per game 131st Assists per game 250th Field Goal Percentage 172nd Nebraska is Points per game 107th Rebounds per game 174th Assists per game 209th Field Goal Percentage 128th
  5. Wow, Really! No kidding....Ever over react a little Tony???? Let's get real. I am totally real. He doesn't look like a guy who broke his ass all summer getting better. He is the leader of this team and the team will only go as high as he takes them. It looks like he spent more time reading his press clippings than practicing. If there is an injury that I don't know about that is slowing him down or suppressing his abilities, then he gets a pass. He has the physical ability to play in the NBA and there will probably be a team that will sign him. I'm saying he never starts a game in the league and bounces around from team to team. Ummm....my comment was mostly at your last sentence. It's bad news if we have him back next year? Really???? Gee.....from that, I'm assuming you wish he never would have come to Nebraska because he is so awful.
  6. Yeah, he probably shouldve. He obviously got out a few years too early. Remember when he flirted with the Seahawks and Michigan St job? Obviously he still had the itch and got out simply for loyalty to a friend in a promise. But god, could you imagine what transpires if he does remain and keeps the staff intact for another 3-5 years? That train was rollin by '97, and Solich lived off it for 4 years before it finally fell off. Imagine if TO stays and keeps it rollin and even possible improves. I also think Osborne retired when he did realizing there were some huge changes to the NCAA coming down the pipeline that would affect recruiting and such. I also think with the changes that had happened going from the Big 8 to the Big 12 were also a reason why retired. I completely agree with this. TO even spoke about it many times after he retired. The world was changing and he knew it.
  7. I firmly believe Bo could beat a #1 team. However, to do so, he needs to sit back and reevaluate schemes and how he coaches during games. A little time off and reflection might be good for him in these categories.
  8. I'm just the opposite. We need our conference and division to be really good. We need the best coaches possible in our conference. Nebraska just needs to be even better.
  9. So, he lets you off with a warning, even after you were doing enough to piss off your own wife, and you are still pissed? Seems to me like the guy gave you a break... He pulled you over to see if you were drunk or doing something else... You almost talked yourself in to a ticket from my angle. Like I said in a post a couple posts up. If you feel you need to pull me over, find a good reason and do it. Don't insult my intelligence and in turn, make yourself look like an idiot. And, his job isn't to just pull random people over (making up a reason) to check everyone to see if they have been drinking. This isnt meant to come off as rude but: Are you a cop? How do you know what there role is? His role is to keep the streets safe and if you are driving down the middle of the road(technically breaking a law) and speeding(speed limit is 50... going 1 over is still breaking the law) Ya, i understand it might seem stupid, but you were breaking two laws.... he let you off with a warning. I guess I am failing to see the problem.... The problem? He was being an ass, plain and simple. Not an uncommon thing for State P in my experience. He's making the road more dangerous by offering idiotic advice. Driving on the side of a gravel road is a great way to end up in the ditch or in the case of an SUV/truck, roll it over if the crown of the road is high. I actually just looked through the DMV's manual, which I would assume is the gold standard for rules of the road in this state, funny enough I couldn't even find a place where it mentions you're supposed to drive on the right side of the road to begin with, free country I guess. But besides that there's nothing in there about gravel roads or unmarked roads. I thought it was pretty much standard teaching in drivers ed that you never drive close to the edge on gravel roads unless there is oncoming traffic or a blind hill, like others said. That's pretty much it. You know, I wouldn't have had near the problem with it if he had stopped me, mentioned that I was speeding (Gee...a couple MPH over) asked if I had been drinking and when he found out I wasn't moved on. What baffled me was when he literally tried to make me think I was doing something wrong when I was driving on the road exactly how I was supposed to drive to be safe. How my kids (who were in the car ) have been taught in driver's ed recently confirmed what I was doing. The rule as I have always known it is you drive on the right side of the road unless conditions warrant differently. Well, general conditions on a gravel road are you drive towards the center of the road to stay out of loose gravel on the side and stay on top of the crown.
  10. Good article. LINK I find this really interesting when Riley hasn't named anyone as DC or OC yet.
  11. I would agree. I don't understand fans who don't support a new hire even if it isn't someone who they would have picked themselves.
  12. Well, the difference is I'm sure he won't hire any assistants that he knows and has coached with before.
  13. You don't say.....???? Really??? Hmmmm...amazing how that works...you can't be planning on transferring and still waste everyone's time and money here?
  14. Who is this about? Michael Bruntz ‏@michaelbruntz 7m 7 minutes ago #Huskers assistant Trent Bray making a key in-home visit tonight (VIP). More here: http://bit.ly/1uqrWJ4
  15. Here is the bigger thing for me if I'm a Badger fan. Doesn't Barry need to be concentrating on finding a new coach and helping that new guy get off to a good start with a good staff? Does he really have time to also prepare a team for a bowl game? I think Barry needs to be concentrating on what is wrong in the program instead of living in past for one more game.
  16. This little pissing match is cute. But, the fact is, coaches hire people they know and are comfortable with. Yes, they might go out and get a few new ones that they feel can help. But, the bulk of a staff is going to be of guys they know and trust. This isn't anything new. It's not anything that is alarming. It's not anything that is all of a sudden going to cause this staff to fail. It's not the cause of what made Bo fail. So, hey.....I have an idea.....let's relax and not se so uptight about every single move thinking it's going to destroy everything good in the world of Husker football.
  17. You have to wonder what is going on here. There is obviously a reason why two coaches in two years leave for what I would consider lesser jobs. I am not one who thinks people after a certain age need to retire. There are many older people who still can do their jobs better than people half their age. However, sometimes there are people who get to that age and think they have to keep proving something and maybe Barry does that with the football program. Maybe behind the scenes he is one who is still trying to prove to the new HCs that he knows more than they do. I have absolutely no inside info obviously and this is just speculation. But, I have seen it enough times with older people in the work force to know it does happen.
  18. Wow, Really! No kidding....Ever over react a little Tony???? Let's get real.
  19. No.....at some point you make a decision and live with it. When you manage people, you realize that most of the time if an employee comes in and gives his two weeks notice, you might as well just wish them well and go on with life. Very very seldom does it work that they change their mind back and they come back as a great employee. This is a similar situation.
  20. Bo's new job should be assistant coach in the NFL. He wouldn't have to deal with boosters and play the college politics stuff that college coaches have to do. He can just dive into his job dealing with the players. He would have a boss over him keeping a foot on his hot head. Now, if he can do that and learn from someone else how to handle the emotions and psychology part of the job, I think he could move up and be very successful as a coordinator or HC again.
  21. I personally think that Bo is one hell of a good coach. What he has problems with is management of personalities and the psychology part of the head coaching job.
  22. That's right. And, if he doesn't play the best player based on who the fans think is best no matter what that player does in practice and if he doesn't play the back up QBs in meaningful minutes in the second quarter of every game so we as fans can see how good they are......FIRE HIS ASS!!!!!
