  1. This I agree with. Bussey would be most talented back on our roster. We will be fine without him though. Wilbon was a plan b or c that decommitted from vandy right? Bussey is and has always been our only guy and we have fended off the wolves until right up until signing day. Too bad we couldn't hold the sec off any longer. Kid will be special. Definitely was not plan B or C. Was a Rivals top170 guy who committed to Vandy VERY early (April of Jr. Year), then decommitted when Franklin left. We then held off PennSt and others for him. Well he wasn't our number 1 guy. Our top guy was the back from Colorado that ended up at Arizona state who plays as a true freshmen. But back to bussey. Good to hear he still considers us.Not saying it's the case but when Wilbon was committed to Vandy from April-Dec he was solid as could be...so not sure we saw him as a legit target. However we accepted Wilbon's commitment before Ballage decided so we musta been pretty happy with him. And lastly let's not act like Ballage did anything special as a true freshman, he ran for 112 yards all year. He didn't do anything special but he is going to be. I don't know if you watched when he did get to play but he looked impressive. I think he is a better back at this stage than Newby is for our team, and definitely than WIlbon is for our team right now. Lol, Wilbon didn't play...not sure I would begin to compare Ballage and Wilbon today. By process of elimination, I think Ballage is better than Newby and Newby is better than Wilbon (or Wilbon would have played, if you believe that Bo always gave the kids a shot at competing to play) so Ballage is better than Wilbon... and this thread is getting out of control haha Why would Wilbon have played? We had a possible Heisman rb in AA and two backups that had previous experience in the offense. You don't burn a redshirt on a freshman when you have someone like AA unless he's FAR better than the two backups. Not to mention the fact if you're Wilbon it's smarter to redshirt after coming of an injury like he did and the amount of carries he would've got would be minimal. General philosophy with RB is if you are good you play early. It is the easiest position to move from HS to College and play. Not a steep learning curve and it allows you to use your God given ability. If you are a special back you don't come to college and redshirt unless you have an injury that prevents you from playing. Even when we had the Rex Burkhead we still got Ameer, Heard, and Green touches. Rex was a great back but if you have a hotshot Fresh come in you play him, bc most the times RB leave early for the draft if they are elite level. (Gotta keep that tread on the tires) I would not waste a redshirt on 24(Green) or 25(Heard) carries. Most of which probably came as garbage time runs or against teams like Chattanooga. If they don't want to redshirt that's fine, but they'll get limited carries. For both Nebraska and the player in a situation like that, it's best to redshirt.

  3. I played class D. There are nowhere near ten D1 football athletes yearly in those ranks. The thing about C-D schools is you do everything. Football, basketball, track, baseball, wrestling, choir, band etc. Most students in these schools are too busy to focus solely on football. The amount of development time most would need would be much greater than from some 4A Texas school where he plays football year round. FWIW, a 4.8 forty is probably pretty fast for a RB in a class D school. No it isn't. Are we talking hand held or electronic times?

  5. Nebraska HS football has a long way to go before it can start complaining about this. Until teams like USC and Alabama are recruiting Nebraska players yearly I see no problems in the amount of hometown guys that get offered currently.
  6. IF you feel like making a video what about an AA/KB tribute video? Either way thanks for the videos throughout the season!
  7. Any news on Lundie? It's been almost 2 months since someone posted on his page.
  8. Love how positive Rose has been through all this. True leadership.
  9. And what about that has anything to do with being next years starter? I think we've seen what Tommy has to offer....hard north and south runner can't move laterally....locks on to one receiver and an average passer at best. And so you can say Stanton will be the starter based on what? He hasn't played. Based on how bad Tommy looked at times there's no way Stanton couldn't be better........Between the interceptions, fumbles, locking onto receivers, and flat out looking like a cry baby out there For god sakes Tommy went whole halves without completing passes So based on speculation? If anybody has a chance to overtake TA I'd say it's Fyfe. He was second string after all. Ya because we have to take the Bo Pelini depth chart seriously with Mark Pelini as our #1 center What do you know of Stanton outside of the Elite 11 camp?

  12. Question here. Since Steele was confirmed to have been contacted; Banker confirmed to be as a coach (whether as position or DC is unknown); Orgeron having interest in a Nebraska job and having known Riley (also had a 'crystal ball' for him coming to Nebraska but could've been nothing more than a test since that feature is more or less in beta); and Warren already be being on staff, out recruiting, and hopeful he'll stay on staff, how do these parts fit? Areas of Expertise- Steele- DC, LB, RC Orgeron- DC, DL, RC Banker- DC, CB/S Warren- DC, CB/S, RC With Bray being the first OSU coach to have been confirmed coming to Nebraska, it would seem Steele wasn't contacted to be a LB coach. Unless Steele was Riley's first choice at the job but he declined. Any insight on this? Edit- I also don't really see any of them being just the RC except Orgeron if he can't find another job. But I think that is unlikely.
  13. I understand our recruiting class to be a solid recruiting class. The number 38 means very little to me, because it is representative of an imperfect metric that doesn't accurately assess the quality of our class as it pertains to our program. Get over it man. If you don't like the class, don't like it for an actual reason other than an arbitrary number that lacks context. This is the same class that was ranked as high as 7th early on in the season. It hasn't dropped because other teams have all the sudden got way better players - it's dropped because other teams have all the sudden got way MORE players. Recruiting rankings highly favor quantity. I don't know how to make it any more simple for you than it has already been made. If you look at average star rating, which is a better indicator at least of the quality of players overall, we are second in the conference and 21st nationally. unfortunately, YOU are the only one that looks at it that way....like I said, maybe YOU and a few others should rank the classes because rivals, SI and ESPN ALL have this class listed as sub-par....but then again, what would they know...right??? No he's not. You are that only one looking at it from the way you are spinning the argument. It was shaping up to be a solid class. The new guy needs to get off his duff and hold it together ya, me and the rest of the nation...you guys just keep drinking the pelini kool-aid...catch up to the rest of us when your finished..k!!! Proof that the rest of the nation sees it that way? oh, I don't know...maybe a NATIONAL RANKING SYSTEM....... Marlon Lucky was a 5 star. Ameer Abdullah was a 3 star.
  14. Riley's probably trying to nail down his staff before contacting recruits so he'll have answers when they ask who their position coaches will be. I just want him to contact them so they can get to know him. Have a casual conversation. Maybe talk about his days in Bama playing under Bear Bryant. Just so they can get to know him. This late in the year losing a bunch of our current class would be detrimental to future years. With such a small class it's imperative we make each recruit count.
  15. Whoever he hires do you think they could contact the current recruits before stealing others? With this small a class you'd think that would be a top priority. A ten minute phone call would do just to put their minds at ease.
  16. With Cardale Jones' performance in the B1G CCG the question for tOSU next year becomes 'who'? Braxton Miller - Senior Miller will be coming back from a major injury. At the start of the year, he was a Heisman hopeful. J.T. Barrett - Sophmore Aside from the VT game, tOSU has been rolling all competition. Barrett became a star and was brought into Heisman finalist contention before a season ending injury. Cardale Jones - Junior Yikes. So much for Wisky's amazing defense. For his first start he looked like Manning/Luck on that field today. With a possible playoff spot Jones could have 2 more games to become the front runner for next year. Other ? I've never seen so many competent QBs on a team in a single year. Since all seem very capable and could start for most teams, who (if any) do you think transfers? Miller and Jones are both from Ohio so maybe playing for their favorite team is enough. Any tOSU fans want to chime in? (As that's about as far as my knowledge goes for tOSU's QB situation goes.)
  17. His highlight tape reminds me of when I would take offsides penalties off in NCAA games.
  18. That blindside block look familiar? BS targeting call.
  19. lol you clearly still don't know how bo did things while he was here... If you're going to call him out at least provide some form of proof.
  20. If what LOMS says is true, do you think it to be more likely that Frost... Stays at Oregon Takes a HC job / Possibly CSU Takes OC job at Neb / Possible head coach in waiting
  21. Can you tell the diff between say fun dip residue and weed residue? Two completely different kinds of 'highs'.
  22. Based on Riley'd comments on hiring his staff and position coaches, I'd say he's being looked at for the LB coach.
  23. The current leaders on the team, AA and Bell.
