  1. Looking forward to this Dual. Three top ten individual match ups and would give the Huskers a big jump in the rankings with a win.
  2. Kid from my high school made this shot during their game last night http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1927157-high-school-basketball-player-makes-an-insane-bounce-shot-from-behind-the-basket- Would make gif of it if I had any clue how to do it any ideas?
  3. True but I'm asking if the season is seen as a good season if we make a major bowl but not the playoff. Winning a conference title and making a major bowl aren't mutally exclusive. How did I imply that they were mutually exclusive? Mutually exclusive means they can't both happen. Winning the conference title guarantees a major bowl, so of course the two can both happen, and usually do. Secondly, there is no such thing as a "BCS bowl" next season. The Sugar and Rose bowls are both part of the playoff, so if we make one of those, we are in the playoff. The Cotton, Fiesta, Chick-Fil-A and Orange bowls will be the major rotating non-playoff bowls that we could be selected for. If we go, say, 10-2, and get in one of those four, I would consider it a "good season" but not as good as winning the B1G title. It all depends on your definition of "good" I guess. It would certainly be a hell of lot better than this season, but still not as satisfying as a conference championship. Never said you implied anything I was just asking for more clearification if you thought a good season could be obtained without winning a conference championship which you did in your second paragraph. Also I am aware that there are no longer "BCS bowls" just used the term to describe which bowls I meant aka rose sugar orange fiesta and so on because I couldn't remember what term if any they assigned to these bowls.

Anyone thinking that just because we "missed" the playoffs we can't have a great season needs to catch up on the last few years of Husker football. Playoffs include 4 teams. Not 8, or 16, or 32. If we have to be in the top 4 to have a great season we're soooo screwed. Isn't happening. At this point, I think a lot of people are looking for progress, meaning a 20ish type ending, a competitive team that plays 100%, no blowouts, reduced turnovers, quit beating ourselves, no national headlines for coaching meltdowns, etc. Most of those happen, and it will be a "good" season. A great season it probably top 10 season, even a loss in the championship game could be a great season considering where we are now. We're starting from a ways back. There's a lot of room for improvement. I agree totally with this KC. While I feel there is some potential in this team to get us to the next level, there are a lot of things that need to change before they can make that jump. The two biggests problem in my mind are turnovers and special teams play. As I stated in my OP, I feel that just because Nebraska doesn't win the the BIG Championship doesn't mean the season can't be a success. While conference championships are on #1 or #2 on most lists doesn't mean the season should be solely defined by winning or not winning one.

  6. Reading threw some of the threads lately I have noticed differences in expectations and what benchmarks are used to measure a good season. With the playoffs coming next year and going forward after this years bowl game, what do you consider a good season? For example, lets say we would make the orange bowl or the rose bowl or what was a BCS bowl and win but not make the playoffs. Would you consider it a good season or is it a playoff or bust mentality? Personally I would feel that making one of the "old BCS games" would be considered a good season but not great because we missed the playoffs. Thoughts?
  7. Whats BS is that there are too little festivus gif's in this thread

  10. Had to pick up Ridley as insurance because MJD is iffy and even if lamar miller comes back he is a hit or miss guy. Done starting victor cruz can't get a TD to save his life and is playing the seahawks got to go with Bowe playing the Raiders right?
  11. Havent even heard of this story whats it about? Not only was Jeremy Hill charged with basically child rape, he sucker punched a guy outside a NOLA bar. The judge decided to release him from probation and back to the team (LA judge, go figure). Then, Les Miles LET THE TEAM VOTE on whether or not to let him back on the team. Surprisingly, the star running back was let back on the team. Still drives me crazy. So he did all this and didn't even go to jail!? That is a joke. Special place in hell reserved for people like him.
