  1. Excellent comparison. Wish I'd have thought of that. I agree, I think Cross's skills are overlooked because he just plain didn't belong in Becks offense. I think NFL scouts will see more than just stats. Let's see what Riley and staff have in store. Hopefully it's a bit more north and south run game. Also, I hope this staff recognizes personnel advantages more than the last staff. Cross should see more touches in a more traditional offense, especially in those short yard situations. This is exactly why I think he will get drafted. If 4 FB's can get taken last year, Fowler from Alabama being the only impressive one, I see no reason why Cross would even get checked off the list. If players his size wasn't being drafted in that position, I would agree, but this kid will get drafted unless he has an injury.
  2. I watched the Big Ten Icons the other day, and they had one on Woodson. Tonight, they played Big Ten Elite, and they had the 1997 Michigan team. This brings back the old subject or who was better, Nebraska or Michigan?! I for one, wish they never ducked us, and played us in the National Championship Game. Again, there isn't much going on here during the off season, so... fan bias aside, do you think we would have beaten the heralded Woodson's Wolverines? Thought this could be a good conversation piece, and a reason to live in the past a little.
  3. Great article Mavric. We all know Cross can lose weight and become closer to that ideal weight. If I remember right, he is actually less than 240 now, but you can't compare one player to another from a different year on where they will be drafted. That is what I meant more towards my post. While Burkhead had a great combine, his injury prohibited him from becoming a higher draft pick. Even if they want to put him in the draft as a FB, he has a good chance, especially that they are still drafting from that position.
  4. Where do you go? If I remember right, you are in Des Moines?
  5. I did cables, some shoulder workouts, lat downs and of course legs, because everyday is leg day! Tomorrow, bench (super sets). Trying to get 3 plates by end of summer, that is both decline and flat, and hope to get close to that on incline.
  6. The only problem, if we were to have an excellent season, it would go against us in the polls, for playoff contention. Great for a record though!
  7. It is nice to see family on your list. If it wasn't so expensive for me to take time off, and the trip itself with tickets, I would be going up to Canton! +1
  8. I don't want to sound rude, but that perception couldn't be any more wrong. There is a huge difference between a 215lb 5'10" RB (Burkhead), and a 240lb 6'1" RB (Cross). Had Burkhead also not had health concerns, he would have gone higher.
  9. If he has a stellar year this year, I think he stays and gets even better, just because of what the staff was able to tweak in one offseason. Just my opinion, but Gerry will be a 1st rounder if he keeps the work up, next year.
  10. It was a mistake, ever made one of those before? lol
  11. Good game girls! With a performance like that against LSU, there is no reason to hold your head down!
  12. http://www.wowt.com/home/headlines/Nebraska-Coach-Killed-In-Crash-During-Recruiting-Trip-304011551.html My prayers and condolences to the Underwood family, players and Husker administration. RIP Coach.
  13. I was going to put him down too, but figured getting more than two off the OL was a stretch, and he has just as much of a chance as Price. I totally forgot about Cockrell. It seems that CB/DB's are going in vast numbers too. I would be satisfied with 4, even more-so with 5
  14. Lets go ladies!!!!!

  15. When looking through our roster, I could see Nebraska getting a minimum of 4 players drafted. Here are my picks of possibilities. Who do you see? Of course this is early, but its the off season and there isn't much to talk about, in the football world. Alex Lewis Jonathan Rose Daniel Davie (if he stays healthy all year and plays the way he has been) Jack Gangwish (agree to disagree) Imani Cross- I think someone will pick this kid up in the 7-8th round as a situational RB. Givens Price- could be a possibility, especially with his youth, as a Senior. Long shot, but if he has a Senior year like hes talked about having, it could happen. Collins and Valentine could also be in this group, but I don't see either of them leaving early, even with a great year.
  16. The thing that makes me more nervous than anything, losing a game we have no business losing. That my excitement for Riley and staff, would be kicked down my throat, and I lose promise early into the season. Last year after that Wisconsin game, I don't want to ever feel that way about this program ever again.
  17. How is 2 more carries going to make him injury prone? Lol Ameer- 14 Kick returns (most on the team), 392 yards. Also, he had 22 receptions, 4th on the team..This guy was more than a RB for us, and this is why you see the injuries. He will be missed next year, and its going to be very noticeable. 20-23 is safe IMO. Its the extra workload that is what makes it become borderline player suicide.
  18. I think that is a stretch isn't it? Here is a list. Far from one every year (with the exception or our legacy years (90's)). Abdullah being the 2nd highest RB drafted in the last 25 years. 2015: Abdullah (2nd) 2013 Burkhead (6th) 2011: Helu Jr (4th) 2007: Brandon Jackson (2nd) 2001: Buckhaulter (4th); Dan Alexander (6th) 1999: Makovicka (4th) 1998: Ahman Green (3rd) 1996: Phillips (1st) 1994: Calvin Jones (3rd) 1993: Derek Brown (4th) 1990: Ken Clark (8th)
  19. In my opinion, we need to establish a main dominant RB. Someone who can and WILL get at least 20 carries a game. I have never been a fan of sharing (50/50) carries, just like having a 2 QB system. You need your main guy, and take him out for rest or large leads. Have your situational RB, like I think Cross will be (short and red zone/goal line). I just hope we don't see our starting RB returning kicks. This is where you see guys fall out towards the end of the season.
  20. Free read through 247 Sports! http://nebraska.247sports.com/Bolt/A-lay-of-the-land-37263114 This to me, speaks volumes of the coach we have. I am hoping this guy actually pans out and turns this program around!
  21. Where do you coach? Let the staff do their jobs. Is he not allowed to voice his opinion? New rule I haven't heard of? Decked, I am with you on this. As a fan, this is VERY questionable. With his size, he suits up well as a TE, but there isn't enough film at this position for me to have any excitement about.
  22. I think you are putting to much into the spring game. Yeah Armstrong didn't look good, but remember King Frazier looking like the best RB we had last season? If we see the same Armstrong we saw against USC, especially being improved due to the offseason, I think we can win games we shouldn't with him at the helm. I personally still believe that Darlington is the best QB we have that fits this system and has all the attributes of a GREAT QB. Just too concussion prone to build something around, I believe. Bush, too little seen to even make a true judgement against. The only thing I personally take from the game, is how well our receivers can catch, run routes and how well our DB/CB's can cover. I don't think our DL was playing 100% either, and both sides of the ball were dumbed down.
  23. Yeah, I haven't done anything consistently gym wise, since I was in high school, Sophomore year to be exact. As of right now, I am at 180, healthy pounds. My bench max is 235lbs, and just did 235 on decline. Incline, I haven't maxed out yet, but I have put up 185 10 x's. Not too bad, when I started in February and could barely do a plate on bench lol. I have been thinking of doing protein drinks. I intake a lot on my own for foods. I I just want to get a little bigger, and start leaning out. Summer is coming up to fast not to, and being newly single (first time in over 7 years) its kind of needed As for pre-workout, I am looking at making my own now. No point in having all these fillers, and spend pennies on the serving, while knowing exactly what I am putting in my body.
