  1. Actually you are right - that was my grandpa's tractor. Loved it.
  2. Yes, I hear you BRB. Knowing a "Trump" or a potential worse person could have this under his control gives me hives.
  3. You know - it was a once in a life time experience. Glad to have been there! Previously I missed the send off of ole Christopher Columbus' trip to the east Indies - heard he got lost. Darn Uber Oxen driver took the wrong turn and I missed it.
  4. Knapp I don't disagree wt you. Glad you had the time to break it apart piece by piece. I was taken back by how Trump's accomplishments 'trump' all of his excesses, vulgarness, petty childness and lack of real administrative abilities. He gives way to much credit to Trump himself. I still think whatever is accomplished (the word accomplished is debatable in the same way you debated the article's list with your links above) will be in spite of Trump and not because of him.
  5. You guys are making me feel real old. I'm from the day of the Minneapolis Moline Z, the John Deere B, the Massey Ferguson 85, and the Farmal M. Growing up those were some of the tractors dad had on the farm near Parker, SD. Only after I went to college did he get the air conditioned, climate controlled International with radio wt headjacks. I can't hear well because my tractor had the radio on the fender blaring louder than an F-18 flyover just so I could hear it - but my neighbor a 1/2 mile away could hear it just fine.
  6. Yes, Oklahoma's issue is at the core poor budget planning which gets exposed by the oil revenue issue. This state needs to do a better job of placing a priority on education and health care - two large issues that show us lagging far behind other states. These issues become an obstacle to economic development and diversification of our economy. The budget is to reliant on oil revenue and when the nipple goes try, the pig shrivels up. So we have this $6-800m shortfall and the state legislature has been doing special session after special session to 'fix' it. Fortunately or maybe not depending on one's view point - oil prices are moving up. Unfortunate in the fact that it could reinforce old budget habits without the state making sound structural changes to wean us off of the sow.
  7. President Nobama. National Review - goes back and forth on Trump (pro or con) depending on the opinion writer. This would be considered a Pro-Trump article or maybe perhaps more of a Anti-Obama - progressive article. Either way, it does layout Trump's agenda and reasons behind his actions. http://www.nationalreview.com/article/455453/president-trump-undoes-obama-legacy-commonsense-nobama The article goes on to state the changes he has made and why. This will bother Obama supporters and for people like me, who are conservative but would be more of the 'Never Trumpers' type, I would have to say he has accomplished some things despite Trump being Trump. And yes, I'd be one of those who would also say it was accomplished more by those around him (The Adults in the Room) and by Congress than by Trump himself.
  8. Or Oklahoma. In 1980 OKLA was 100% Dem prior to the election. State wide offices, state house and senate, US Congress. The Reagan revolution occurred and that was the beginning. Now the state is 100% repub - Congress, State wide offices and state senate and house. I think the state has problems, not because of republicans in itself but because of a lack of strong ideas to create more balance - due to the lack of strong Democrats bringing a different perspective on issues. I use to kid my Sooner fan friends that the only thing between Okla and a great team was Kansas. Well I hope Scott Frost makes that a reality again and I hope our citizens can make Okla better by voting in a more diverse group into the state offices.
  9. Unfortunately having blind loyalty to an R or to a D blinds us to some realities. I think Bornhusker has shown his blind loyalty by refusing to see Trump's remarks as anything but disgusting, repugnant and not worthy of the office he how holds. Back to the topic in hand - the duplicity of some Dems also amazes me. The kind of "I was for ...(name the topic) before I was against it" kind of political double talk. Republican leaders aren't immune to this same double talk. Both parties will take advantage of double votes on a subject - one that they can show voters back home and the other in which they are given political cover. They find ways to have it both ways. I was a card carring Repub for most of my adult life, I'm glad now that I have no such loyalties - I don't have defend the ilk of a Trump nor do I have to close my ears to a reasonable argument from the other side. My 'filter' will always be a conservative interpretation of the constitutional & conservative economics but I know there are reasonable opinions on the other side.

    War

Yes, that was a big portion of it. England's long struggle against France was very burdensome
  11. I agree and on top of that all of the players will be developed and coached up compared to what we've seen in recent years. Recruiting is important, Coaching is more important.
  12. That is funny. Kind of like Medieval times - we'll stretch you wt horses from both direction. How are you feeling? Part of the issue is when you stray away from the far left or far right plantation. If a the person responding to your post is highly partisan either direction, you'll be a target.
  13. To BRB's post above about Trump not going to London, it is reinforced by this article I saw this morning. I find it discussing that he blames Obama for the Embassy decision when it was clearly made prior to Obama. The guy who talks tough isn't a tough guy at all - he's not going because of the protests. And then he blames others. https://www.newsmax.com/headline/trump-cancels-london-obama/2018/01/12/id/836731/
  14. Scott Frost outsmarted Steele in the 2nd half of the game. And the UCF DC out coached the Auburn OC/HC all game long. I think we are in good hands.
  15. Very true. And in 2019 we will also have the UCF transfer competing for the job besides the others available this spring.
  16. So would Hurts fit Frost's system? Or would it be better for Scott to save the scholarship for a great defensive player - which we sorely need? A difference maker at rush end or LB. Wt the returning QBs, the transfer from UCF and the incoming freshman QB - we might not need another QB unless Hurts could make the same kind of immediate difference that Wilson did at Wisc a few years ago.
  17. Scott will have 25 years to better Tom. I hope he does!! And to this Tom sustained excellence for 25 years at a location not in the hot recruiting bed of the the south. Yes, Saban has won 6 NC but I can think of 3 that Tom should have won - 2 from ref calls - 82 PSU enlarged field and TD pass no call, FSU Orange bowl- 2 many to list. The 83 NC was his but being a man of integrity he went for 2. Not to mention the many other times where he was one play(darn sooner magic) or one game away from the NC.
  18. Follow the money. I suspect those unreleased tax filings of Trump's have some hidden clues. Funny how long the auditors need to look at them.
  19. Trump most likely won't talke to Mueller. No surprise there. It is too big of a risk for him to do so, so he'll make Mueller prove his case wtout being easily trapped by his (trump's) own words. https://www.newsmax.com/headline/trump-mueller-russia-probe/2018/01/10/id/836398/
  20. If we talk about an all "Post Solich" team - I would rank it this way 1. A healthy TM - I think his injuries also affected his passing which seem to get worse in later years (maybe I'm putting too much on that OK State game - stats may prove differently). I think a healthy TM would have surpassed Crouch in reputation and we know Crouch probably had better players around him. Can you imagine TM in Osborne's offense?? If he got the option down, it would have been deadly. Him and Burkhead doing the option - wow - think of the possibilities. 2. Zac Taylor - He is still one of my favorite QBs of all time - he was tough, a true coach on the field and he made up for BC's inadequacies as a HC. Without Zac I think we have 4 losing seasons under BC. 3. Ganz - Very much like Zac, tough, what he lacked in talent (not saying he was without talent but I think Zac was overall a better qb and had more talent or QB IQ), he made up with determination, desire and leadership. He should have been a 2 year starter and if BC had half a defense in 2007, wt Ganz as full time QB, BC may have been around longer - good or bad. 4. Armstrong - too bad he didn't have more help and often times plays weren't called using his strengths. The 'QB whisperer' didn't seem to help him much. I think Armstrong would have been great in Osborne's offense --Great runner and adequate enough passer (even if each pass was an adventure) 5. All others
  21. Never thought of that - so true. It is kind of like this year - OU at the end of the game wt Georgia - they take the ball out of the hands of their all everything QB and do running plays. Sometimes coaches try to get 'too smart'. Just ride the horse that got you there and 9 our of 10x you will be OK.
  22. I voted TM just because of his overall impact. I think Ganz was the better QB but only had one year wt Bo. Now if Ganz had been there wt the SUH D of the following year - I think we would be talking NC contender if not winner. Now wouldn't that had changed things. Ganz wt Swift and Peterson as WR made for a pretty good trio.
  23. Remember this every great person, every great event had a beginning. We are at the beginning of something great.
  24. Oh, there will be movies -- many movies - you can count on it. Once this all goes down, Hollywood will be very happy to capitalize on it.
  25. Trump pulling the tiger's tail may come back and bite us. As he takes are harder line wt China on trade, China is taking a hard look at suspending and lowering the value of US Sovereign debt that they purchase from us. As the largest holder of our debt this is no small deal. Markets will and are reacting accordingly as it down 100 points in early trading today. The 4% GDP growth predicted by JP Morgan's Dimon (2nd link) may find a considerable chain and ball attached to it if China plays hardball. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/10/china-is-reportedly-thinking-of-halting-us-treasury-purchases.html https://www.marketwatch.com/story/dimon-thinks-economists-are-dead-wrong-about-gdp-predicts-4-us-growth-2018-01-09
