How is it possible, there is no other team that keeps making this basic middle school football level mistakes.

Six wins was an acceptable metric for year 2. Not year 5 after four years of utter failure.

If they win 8 and one of those is OU, that means presumably that they also got a win over one of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, or Iowa. I wouldn't be saying give him a lifetime contract, but I'd be happy to say yes he gets another couple years provided we see it be a consistent thing that he wins the games he should and punches above the weight class here and there. EDIT: I need to clarify - do I expect that to occur? No I expect four wins at this point.

Respectfully I've always founds this position silly. Coaches are competitive. They want to succeed where others haven't. I'm not saying we're a golden ticket job that everyone is dying to get, but you can't tell me the idea of being the guy that brings Nebraska back to respectability and even national contention doesn't appeal to a lot of coaches. Yes, they are concerned about stability and not all of them will be interested in this job. But there's always going to be guys willing to give it a shot. As for who, I'm not sure, but I don't want Urban Meyer. It wouldn't be worth it.
