  1. Interesting. I thought Javin Wright was our top CB target. Who knew?
  2. Here is a better thread to talk about how "tight" Greg Bell is or isn't. Let's keep this thread about Benhart.
  3. "Ran too tight" might be code for playing with an injury. Damon Benning has implied several times that Bell has an undisclosed injury which may be affecting his speed. This may be purely speculative, though DB seems close to this staff.
  4. I personally think it is a non-issue. However, I am guessing that some may find it off-putting that he is using his freshman daughter as an unofficial but on-the-record source. My opinion about this is that we have football to talk about, so whatever.
  5. Look at all of those returning starters!*** ***Referring to players that starting in game 1 this year who will start against Troy.
  6. Saw that during the game and mentioned it to my wife (who was watching the game with me). It appeared after Martinez was down completely, 44 held onto his leg and twisted his knee. It looked like he was trying to injury Martinez intentionally. Not the first time something like this happened in a game, but even as a competitor, you have to draw a line.
  7. Which Husker plays vs Colorado do you hope will appear on Husker Vision this weekend?
  8. I listened to the most recent HOL podcast. Nate Clouse said he was not surprised Gebbia left the team.

What a clown!!! Nate 'Clown' Clouse.

I can't say it wasn't in the back of my head if he didnt get the nod.

i dont think anyone was really surprised he left, it was more when he left. why the hell would anyone stick at a school then transfer a week before the first game? had he left in the spring he probably would have been eligible to play this fall.

You are trying to split hairs, but you are validating my point. No one would have expected Gebbia to leave the way he did. To say otherwise makes me annoyed because reporters, like the coaches and all of us, were completely catch off-guard, but now, some want to pretend to be smart guys and say they could have guessed the situation would play out the way it did.

It just makes them look bad at their job.

  9. That's rough. If JoJo Domann plays, he could be the poster child for coming back from this situation.
  10. Imo, it makes no sense to ignore who was playing during the time those guys were here. Especially, because the guys that started at QB and finished their careers here were the reason those guys did neither. Also, if you want to get really technical, you have Bunch and Vedral here that are still TBD.
  11. Stanton, Bush, Darlington, O’Brien, and Gebbia were never starters. Heck , most never played. That is why I wrote my list (starters/major contributors only). If you don’t start at QB, there is a high chance of transferring. Look at other schools. A quick google search shows that 50% of college QBs transfer. Which is the other point I was making regarding how easy it is to find this information where you don’t have to say “don’t know about other schools”. https://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/signing-day-recruits-quarterback-transfer-clemson-hunter-johnson-alabama-tua-tagovailoa-michigan-dylan-mccaffrey-013017 Only Lee did not finish his eligibility at Nebraska in recent years, and he elected to go into the NFL draft not transfer. That’s 4 of the last 10 Nebraska QB who finished here (5 if you count Lee who did not transfer). That puts Nebraska in line with the rest of college football.
  12. Taylor Martinez, Kellogg, Fyfe, and Armstrong were starting QBs in the last 5 years. All finished at Nebraska. Hoppen may want to keep reporting to real reporters. “Not sure how that looks compared to other schools”. Case in point.
  13. Back in December, how in the world did you predict Michael Decker would not be in the 2-deep, and it would be Conrad/Hunter at center? Cam Taylor was a HS QB, and you correctly got him second string at CB behind Bootle. Also, wasn’t Collin Miller being projected at OLB before spring practice? This is really impressive! Nice work.
  14. Measureables and playing history seems similar to Matt Anderson. 6'7" 250-60 lbs TE converted to OT. I wonder what the difference is that the staff sees Anderson at OT and Banks at DE? Something Dave Ellis might have insights on in terms of projecting based on frame.
  15. In Pappoe's thread, it was mentioned that Schaef alluded to a potential visit to Nebraska.
  16. Maybe momma knows best...too bad for Quayshon that things aren't working out. If his academics are in order (and if he still has the passion to play), I wonder if he looks to transfer to Rutgers like his brother.
  17. The question really is, does Ronald want to keep his recruitment open to them? Or maybe this is Auburn telling Frost to stay away from Pappoe.
  18. According to 247, he is the 106th ranked recruit in this class in the state of Georgia. Imagine, Nebraska having 100+ mid-three star or better rated prospects in state (29 four and 4 five stars)!
  19. Raridon was 290 lbs last season in the media guide and is now listed at 320 lbs. 30 lbs is still a lot to add in a year. https://hailvarsity.com/s/4203/huskers-update-measurables-ahead-of-2018-season#&gid=1&pid=1
