WBB: Shepard is B1G Freshman of the Week.

This will probably be a constant occurrence! Great job, Jess! -
I agree, but the thing to remember is that he is still not playing with his players. Parker & Shields are from Doc. Both are good players, but Parker would not be here if it was not for Doc. Miles likes taller guards who can handle the ball & shot. It is great that we are now becoming competitive in basketball! Year four and you're still sticking with this? Besides the fact that Shields is one of our best players, if Benny is still playing either Miles likes him or hasn't recruited anyone better. This line is pretty tired. Yes, because we are now seeing 4 star players coming to Nebraska. As it takes a year to build relationships with recruits and I will also stand by Riley as well. When is the last time we beat a team by 40, like the better teams do. These guys are young and they will get better as the year goes on.

Our defense is getting confidence. Our coaching staff is learning. Tommy makes our offense go, but still makes bone headed mistakes. Our offensive line is a lot better with Sterup & Gates playing side by side. Cross is a beast, but too slow on delayed runs.

This post needs to be taken to the woodshed! -
I've trash talked the coaching staff so..,.

The interceptions were not on the coaches yesterday. Tommy had an overthrow, this is going to happen on occasion. But the other 2 were just bone headed mistakes. One he should have thrown away and the other he did not read that line was not rushing. I have no problem mixing it up and throwing passes against a team like Rutgers. The only way to get better is to keep running the offense. -

TO also had more scholarships to work with. Plus, if kids want to play D1 they can set up a Hudl account.

Agree in Hammond looking atrocious. Ed Morrow has an insane motor and will be our only steady rebounder. Jack Mcveigh looked awkward and slow to me. Andrew White has a nice jumper. Going to be an interesting season for sure. Hammond was a bad get...He is like Maverick Morgan for the Illini...a recruit that was rated high because he was bigger and stronger in HS...but not athletic enough in college. He is just a SO. He needs to get bigger & stronger, so he can rebound and play defense. We will need him & Borchardt to play some minutes against teams with a taller lineup. We got a favorable schedule for him to build confidence and get better. He won't get better or gain confidence and he sure won't get bigger or stronger this year. By conference he might not be playing at all. We will see! -
I seen the Cross of old, less dancing and more punishing the defender.

I love what Miles is building, just need a quality big man!

I am not saying he is great, but I think he is serviceable. -

We just need the ball last!

The clock stops once the ball hits someone or thing. In the Texas game, the ball hit a rail. Sat. the ball was still in flight.

What Did We Learn Michigan St Game: What Did We Learn?
SouthLincoln Husker replied to Thanks_Tom RR's topic in Husker Football
Talent, depth, injuries & players to run the scheme. Its too early to be judgmental. Its not what we wanted, but I think the players & coaches are learning. I was here when the fans wanted TO fired and you know what he did. Can Riley do the same? Maybe maybe not, but lets give him some room to put his team together. -

I may have to take my wife to more games. I normally take my son or daughter, but both were busy. It was her first game this year and maybe her 3 in 10 years. I might have to suck it up and use her as a good luck charm! Sorry, we will be out of town for the Iowa game. -
We would have beaten Illinois and Purdue if our coaching staff had committed to the run in sensible ways. Both the Illinois and Wisconsin game came down to not executing three final downs in order to get into victory formation and run out the clock. This team is very close to being 7-3 and having a chance to go to Indy. I don't think it has been a lack of effort by players that has taken us out contention for the West. But at this point, it is what it is. And we played a hell of a game last night that we'll watch highlights of for years to come...it was awesome. That's all that matters to me this morning. We all know we have very little depth at QB & DE. These positions need a lot more talent, but OL baffles me. If we can not run the ball, why not give someone else a shot. Last night, we moved Sterup to guard and everyone can see what that did.

You still need a pass rush, which we have very little of! -

Remember, we have used the same line except the switch with Gates & Sterup. Tonight, Gates was at tackle and Sterup was at guard. Together they were knocking Sparta off the line. -
These officials were bad all night. Sparta was holding and making contact 10+ years down the field the whole game. The play was on my side of the field. He was forced out of bounds, but I am unsure of how much contact there was. I thought it would be overturned.
