I also question the judgement of someone that is encouraged to hire the best but chooses to hire homers. Go for it! True Husker fans show class. I saw that. They did just win the Pac 12 title after all. First one for both. I don't see the Riley/Frost thing working. They run vastly different systems and Riley is his own OC. Riley said that we was not totally married to his offense system, just some parts.

Riley calls the offensive plays, so we will probably not get a high end OC. This means we could spend more on a DC.

Still need a leader. Would Steele be a good DC?

It looks like Bray, Read (Spec. Team) & his current WR coach. Looking at Garrison & Steele.

I would believe that he has not talked to anyone about asst. coaching positions, yet. The longer it is open, the longer Scott might be an option. I am sure he would wait until after the bowls. It is only right

News talked to Frost's dad by phone and he basically said he could not say too much, but that Scott knows Mike Riley very well. I thought it was a long shot, but maybe there is a chance that Scott become out OC-asst. head coach.

News is saying the meeting went well and the players were upbeat coming out of the meeting.

Bo's firing was more than wins & loses. It was demeanor on & off the field, lack of respect towards tradition & keeping hiring clueless asst.

Huh? Bo got there in year 2 and was :01 away... Not in the B1G.

Getting there is a step a head of Bo who has no been able to get there in 7.

So TA continually missed open receivers on simple swing passes and other short routes because Beck's offense was horrible? Perfectly logical to me. All about timing and confidence. And Beck never took the blame. His offense did not use the TE, RB & FB and everyone knew it.

Major concern. All I've heard is that Beck threw too much and that in Lincoln we need a coach that utilizes the power running game, yet we hire a guy that has a history of throwing the ball all over the place and many seem to be ok with it. I don't get it. Not true! Most of the time he had a balance attacked, which changed year to year based on talent & deficiencies. Adjusting, something we have not done in NE for years.

He has the talent, but it will take time to establish his offense & defense. On the other hand, the B1G West is not great.

TO was on Devaney's staff. In fact, NE fans wanted him fired before he started winning. Mike Riley is a surprise pick and we have the support & facilities he needs to be successful. That's what I thought. The only one with a proven track record was Devaney and even then only one of his Wyoming teams was ranked. I'm glad that people are warming up to Riley a bit now, but in reality this hire isn't much different than any other. All of them had doubters. A home run like Tressel would have been unprecedented in NU history, so to have expected that this time was unrealistic. I was like WTF when I heard, but I went straight to google and started my research. The more I read the more comfortable I got with the hire.

Everyone reacts without doing the research. 1. Oregon St. is the pit of college football. What he did with very little talent is amazing. 2. Oh yes, He develops NFL players. 3. Defense has been the main issue at Oregon St. Now he has the funding to get a good DC. 4, He has adjusted his offense every year based on talent. He will have much more talent at NE. 5. He won 2 grey cups. Not NFL players, but better talent than Oregon St. 6. He is very well respected in the coaching community. He is not a terrible coach and deserves a chance to prove himself.

Not in this short of time frame. Stanley's mom has said that they already had a coach several days ago. This guy has turned down Alabama before Saban and USC. He is highly regarded in the coaching circle. My guess is that he was our #1.
