  1. I would absolutely love for Nebraska to run Auburn's type of offense. I think we have the athletes to be able to run it. We would have Ameer as our primary RB with Turner, Newby, Moore, etc. to be our jet sweep players. Not sure if we have to linemen to run it. I think it would be very effective in the BIG because we could pound it but also utilize our speed against these types of defenses.
  2. I agree. It's basically like having another BYE week late in your schedule and an easy win.....unless your Florida.....
  3. nice! a good get in a position of need. He is a big bodied kid who might be able to make an impact right away
  4. He had many chances to change the game in every single one of our loses. Some that come to mind are against Mich. State in the 4th quarter and he got a PI on him that went uncalled but he was close to bringing it in and against Iowa at the end of the game.
  5. I would say we are a little bias in saying the didn't manhandle us because we are both from Iowa and I'm sure you are tired of hearing about it like I am. Yes, Ill give credit where credit is due, they beat us. I just think the score is closer than the score board showed.
  6. Any word on him? He is set to announce today.
  7. Warrior beat me to it^^ Terrell Clinkscales ‏@TerrellClink922m My decision will be announced everywhere at 6pm
  8. Sounds like he is ours according to his twitter account. https://twitter.com/TerrellClink92
  9. This is how I felt about it. Ill give it to them, they won but no way did they dominate us. Nothing annoys me more when people who don't know much about football comment and act like they know everything there is to know about football.
  10. Since I live in Iowa all I keep hearing is how Iowa manhandled Nebraska and it wasn't even a close game at all. The final score was 38-17 which is a blow out but from watching the game it was a lot closer than the final score IMO. They scored the last TD on a short field after going for it on 4th down. We had 288 total yards and they had 282. Yes, they had a short field most of the game and had 7 of their 14 possessions in our territory. Their longest TD drive was 41 yards which came after the Abdullah fumble. Their longest scoring drive was 70 yards, which 30 of them came on 2 penalties from a PI and Bo's personal foul. I give them credit for taking advantage of our mistakes and their defense forced all the turnovers, the two Kellogg INTs were just plain bad reads and shouldn't have been thrown but their defense took advantage. We couldn't move the ball when we were pinned inside our 10 yard line which is understandable but when we were out of the shadow of our own goalpost we were able to move the ball quite easily. After 3 turnovers and a terrible fake punt we still had a chance to win this game. The fake punt was an awful decision especially since Iowa called a timeout to get their first team defense out there and we finally had some momentum on our side. It's obvious we have some real talent on our team being so beat up and having a lot of turnovers and still having a chance to win, just like the MSU game. I personally think we need to start new with a new coach but since we are keeping Bo I would be ok with keeping him as long as he makes some changes and gets new coordinators. We need an actual defensive coordinator that can really focus fixing our issues instead of having a guy with no experience. Of course Bo won't get a new DC because he doesn't want any help. Our defense should be pretty good next year. We need a new OC and actually get an identity on offense. Personally, I think we should go to smash mouth football that grinds other teams down, but I would be okay with having a spread team and commit to having the spread. I just think we need an identity on offense so we can recruit system players which will help us recruit more efficiently. We need to hire a recruiting staff that can bring in SEC type players. GBR
  11. I hope so. I think Beck is a good OC but he out-thinks himself way too many times.
  12. Our defense is going to be pretty nasty next year. We are returning a lot of people. Obviously we will be thin at CB which means we will most likely have to have two deep safeties and ease of the blitzes so hopefully our Dlineman can cause lots of pressure.
  13. I've been "Pro Bo, Bro" the whole time, but after the Iowa game I am tired of seeing the same Nebraska team, even with 9 wins a season. We are way too sloppy, I know an argument can be said that some of the fumbles are on our players because we work on them in practice. But we just are not a well coached football team. We don't have an identity on offense and I am annoyed we are losing to teams like Michigan State and Iowa because of turnovers. We clearly have a lot of talent on this team and even with all our turnover problems we have a chance to win. To be honest, I would be fine with a rebuilding year as long as we start to become a more clean team. I want a coach that embraces our fans similar to what Tim Miles does. If Bo does get rid of some staff and gets an actual DC and a OC that establishes an identity for this team I would be ok with that and support this team.
  14. Thanks for confirming my assumption about his dad. What's your take on him (if you knew him)? I personally didn't know him well, he practiced with the varsity team during the playoffs as a freshman. We won state that year (sorry still living in the glory days )
  15. Was a freshman when I was a senior in high school. His dad was a lineman here at Nebraska, His older brother is grey shirting at Wisconsin and his other older brother played at Notre Dame.
  16. been reading that Gregory threw a punch. Don't know how reliable it was because I didn't see it.
  17. I love the way Abdullah fights, he wants to win every game and you can see that when he's out there.
  18. Exactly. Not sure as a reporter what response you would expect.
  19. So it sounds like at least their fanbase is coming in cocky. Hope their players come in with the same attitude. Ill stand by what I said. If we aren't negative in the turnover battle we will pull away from this team. Yes, I would say their fans are very confident they will beat us, "Iowa is BY FAR the better team, and in no WAY they should be able to move the ball against our defense and should have a tough time scoring more than 17 points!"
  20. IMO this will be a great game, Iowa's offense is a type of offense we have struggled with lately. They like to pound the ball straight forward which gives us troubles. However, towards the end of the PSU game our line was doing a good job of setting the line of scrimmage. It will be key for our defense to not get pushed back and we need to hit them in the backfield. Iowa will also need to have an effective passing game to beat us and their QB throws interceptions so I hope when they do air it out SJB and Ciante can come up with some INTS. Another key to this game is turnovers. We had 5 against MSU and they had 4 against Michigan. Turnovers will be huge in this game and the team with the least amount will win I think. Their run defense is good, but some of their fans are saying they are going to shut Abdullah down easily and he won't get his yards. Yes, they could do this but not even the #1 run defense in Michigan State could do that. An Iowa buddy of mine was saying he ins't even worried about Abdullah. I know Abdullah is banged up but he has been for the past 3 or 4 weeks and he is a gamer.
  21. At the same time, it seems like you never see him miss a tackle. I honestly believe that he has played a much bigger role in helping the D turn the corner than people realize. Alexander and Cooper, for the most part, have played well in the run and don't seem to get beat in coverage much either. As a whole, our play at Safety the last couple of games has been MUCH better than last year and earlier this season. I definitely agree. It seems like every game he has a chance to pick the ball at least once, with more playing time he will make some of those picks. He can actually tackle, and always in the play. I don't know why they take him out and put Green in. With him and Cooper back there next year we just need another corner or two in this years recruiting class and we can continue to have solid secondary play. There has been some talk of him thinking about moving to offense and maybe playing some receiver as well, I sure hope not.
  22. LeRoy always seems to be in the play every single play, which is something you want from your safety, flying around everywhere. I really hope he stays at safety and gets more time. He could be real good for us.
  23. I have Marshawn Lynch (#1 in my league) Desean Jackson (#3 in my league) and the Seahawks D (#2 in my league) on BYE this week. I'm first in my league and I hope I can score enough points to stay in first.
