  1. I agree. The only thing holding this song (and video) back is production value. Remix the song with some serious bass and percussion, and you've got a winner.
  2. OK, I realize that this is a joke posting, but I am still going to "go there" and correct you, Carson. Your photo of NW's regular uniforms is from their pre-2012 Adidas contract. They have been an Under Armour school for a couple of years. Looks like you need some new little spies. While I won't comment on the style of their current regular uniforms, I will inject some heterosexuality into this thread, and comment on the Women's Lacrosse Under Armour uniforms: ... I like them a lot. (and for the record I'm not homophobic, your post was pretty d@mn funny)
  3. Whatever. Who knows what teams will be good or bad four years from now anyway? "Dodging Michigan" this year doesn't seem like such an advantage at this point. I just hope the B1G will have a better national perception by then. Just Win, Baby. (was going to post a pic or gif of al davis, but they all just creeped me out)
  4. Thanks for your answers, guys! Though I thought I might get more responses, esp from the other b1g posters. Maybe this is more of an off-season discussion, since most eyes are focused on the football forum right now. Glad to see I am not the only mizzou hater here. Things escalated for me when that punk trash-talking QB Chase Daniels was there.
  5. Northwestern's "Gothic" uni's for the Nebraska game G.I. Joe's Snake Eyes
  6. Ok, so I have not posted here in quite awhile,... busy with job and family. but I occasionally lurk, and with it being the football season, have checked out the site frequently. I have something that I want to get opinions on from all the posters here, especially the non-husker fans. There, of course, are numerous ways to define what a football rivalry is or should be. This topic has been discussed here numerous times in numerous threads because Nebraska no longer has an obvious rival since Oklahoma opted out of its yearly game with us. What I find interesting about football rivalries is that they are sometimes dynamic, sometimes static, and in MOST cases they seem to be defined by hate and spite. Many teams in the Big 8 and the Big 12 had a spiteful and envious relationship with Nebraska and Oklahoma because they both hated and envied the success they had. Nebraska typically would not aknowlege them as rivals, which fueled the spite even more. (i.e. Kansas State and Colorado) In the Big Ten I suppose it is a similar situation with Michigan and Ohio State. It is when BOTH schools share a mutual spite for each other that you really start to develop a rivalry IMO. I feel we were on the verge of rivalries with Texas and Missouri when we left the conference. Yes, I know about the supposed "mutual respect" rivalry we had with Oklahoma, but I think that is fairly atypical, and ultimately less important to Oklahoma than the hateful rivalry with Texas. Long story short: Please respond with a list of the five schools you are most spiteful towards, meaning you enjoy seeing them lose and derive the most joy from beating them. Also, feel free to use childish transmutations of those school's names. It makes it more fun. Here's mine: Husker fan 1. Tex Ass 2. Iowa 3. Misery 4. Notre Dame 5. Miami
  7. however we do it the FBS/FCS crap needs to go away. D1AA and D1A made more sense.
  8. How about 8 16-team conferences? We are pretty close to that already, and a conference is more likely to add teams than give them up anyway. B1G adds 2 SEC adds 2 ACC adds 2 PAC adds 4 BIG12 adds 6 CUSA adds 2 MAC adds 3 MWC adds 4 Sun Belt and AAC dissolve. some teams drop down to 1AA 8 champs no wild cards, CCG is de-facto part of playoff. edit: I guess you could say this is the same thing as the 16- eight team conf except it is 16 divisions in 8 conferences
  9. The conference championship games would kind-of do this anyway, and act as an extension of the playoff. Just give the champs auto-bids. Also the money for the conf champ games would stay with the conference instead of going into the tourney money pool.
  10. College Football should own December like Basketball owns March and NFL owns January. No reason to push the champ game any further than Jan 1st IMO.
  11. UCLA, TAMU should have made the list maybe pleasantly surprised Nebraska is that high.
  12. I voted for a 12 team. For the top four teams it functions like an 8 team playoff (less total games). This number allows for the 2nd tier conferences to get automatic bids so there are no lawsuits like we saw with the BCS. Auto bids (must have a conf champ game) Big Ten (Mich St) Pac 12 (Stanford) SEC(Auburn) ACC(Florida St) Big12 (Baylor) (forced to add two more teams and a champ game) Mt West (Fresno St) MAC (Bowling Green) Conf USA (Rice) Sun Belt (Louisiana-Lafayette) (forced to add teams and champ game) AAC dissolves into other conferences Wild Cards (3) (all happen to be one-loss teams) Alabama Ohio St Missouri Outside-the-Bubble teams: (all happen to be two-loss teams) South Carolina Oregon Oklahoma Clemson Unlike the NFL the wildcards would be re-ranked with the whole group (they would retain their BCS-like ranking for seeding) first round byes: Florida State Auburn Bama Mich St first round games: Louisiana-Laff @ Stanford Rice @ Baylor Bowling Green @ Ohio St Fresno St @ Missouri second round: Missouri @ Florida State Ohio State @ Auburn Baylor @ Bama Stanford @ Mich State Final Four and Champ Game All at one Neutral site (rotate Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, or just bid for site like superbowl) I think Stanford v Bama would be the champ game. Might have an Iron Bowl rematch in the semis
  13. Agree with Stanford beating Florida State in that bracket. Disagree with Clemson making the title game. No way.
  14. Living in SD I don't get NET (maybe could stream it, but that's not quite the same). I wish the BTN could offer something premium where you could get all the games on TV...
  15. the B1G is representing well in the tourney! With 16 teams left we still have 7. Next highest is the Pac 12 with 3 teams and Big 12 with 2. If we somehow beat Texas it would likely Be 3 out of 4 B1G teams going to Seattle!
  16. I think it will come down to turnovers and scoring defense. Michigan State has the edge in both of these categories if you look at the whole season. I think our current team is better than our statistics, though, and we should match up pretty evenly. Should be a great game! another low-scoring nail biter. Ball security will be the name of the game. We win, of course.
  17. Just a few numbers to chew on. Total Defense: 41st in Fbs/ 6th in B1G Pass Yards: 34th in FBS/ 4th in B1G Rush Yards: 61st in FBS/ 8th in B1G Pass Eff Defense: 46th in FBS/ 6th in B1G Tackles for Loss: 14th in FBS/ 1st in B1G 3rd Down Defense: 3rd in FBS/ 2nd in B1G 4th Down Defense: 12th in FBS/ 1st in B1G (3wy tie) Passes Intercepted: 23rd in FBS/ 2nd in B1G I think most of this is trending upward, don't you all think?
  18. One would hope that the publicity surrounding his latest infractions would bring some attention to this tendency of his, but who knows?
  19. Agreed. Even the student fans are knowledgeable about the team. Usually college is the age of stupidity, booze, sex, drugs, etc. At Nebraska it is the age of Football, stupidity, booze, sex, drugs, etc. Not sure why the issues with keeping the student section filled, tho.
  20. Thanks for spelling your thread title correctly. I have argued with my wife several times over this, and she still spells it "suppose to" instead of "supposed to". Her main argument is that spell check thinks it's fine.
  21. My son won the NCAA BB tourney pool that I run a couple of years ago because he liked Butler. He liked the mascot and the logo... but what really got him was the fact that it had the word "butt" in the name. Made him laugh every time I said it. He was five at the time.
  22. If we lose to Michigan I can see the game losing some luster, but still, there aren't many other compelling games that day. NU-MSU for the division would be a draw. We should have been in the discussion for a night game. Crap.
  23. Here's a link to a Journal Star article about it: http://journalstar.c...1a4bcf887a.html far from a ringing endorsement, but I'll take it.
