  1. I like Mark Richt and have followed him since his time at Florida State. I think he's a great offensive coordinator, but only a good head coach. I also wonder how he would do without the massive amount of talent he's accustomed to coaching. Could he develop 2 and 3 star kids into quality players or is his success predicated on working with 4 and 5 star talents? If the latter is the case, could he recruit those kind of kids to Nebraska the same way he could to Florida State and does to Georgia? I'm not sure. I'm a fan of installing a much more physical offense. As a result, I think you'd see a much more physical defense. Enough with the paddy cake nonsense. We need to be playing tough hard-nosed football. Toward that end, who not look at poaching one of the coordinators from a team like Alabama? I think Nussmeier has a pretty impressive resume: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doug_Nussmeier Kirby Smart's is even more impressive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirby_Smart
  2. I'm hearing that the situation regarding Bo is still uncertain and that Perlman and Eichorst have been hitting the phones like crazy to talk to the boosters. The reason this is taking so long is that just like the fanbase, the boosters seem to be pretty divided in how they think this should be handled. In my opinion, this ongoing division is pretty destructive to the program. We need a coach we can all get behind and rally around. If Bo changes, maybe he can be that guy. But I'm not sure he can, or that he's going to be given yet another chance.
  3. Agreed. Putting an injured and ineffective Martinez out there to struggle and risk further injury makes no sense. So I'm anticipating that's exactly what they'll do.
  4. Yeah, it would nice to see it resolved one way or the other. But I suspect any real resolution will have to wait for the offseason, as it probably should. Taking action midseason for something that happened two years ago may not make a lot of sense.
  5. None that I follow Yeah, they're generally supportive of Pelini.
  6. We've sold out every game since 1962. Explain to me again how we have fair weather fans...or how they should go and f*** themselves. Later Bo. Don't let the door hit you on the way out of town.
  7. In Year 6, isn't it time to stop talking about what kind of team Bo inherited?
  8. So the cloud part is that visiting teams curbstomp us, humiliate us and leave us for dead. The silver lining is that as they leave with our lunch money they compliment us on how classy we are.

I didn't boo, but I did sit there for most of the second half in shock watching UCLA players dance like they were at a night club. Yeah, does anyone know what was with the dancing before all of their kickoffs? It was definitely more pronounced when they were up, but they were doing it all game long, even when they were down. Really strange Having fun. Playing a game. I'd like to see more of it out of our guys. I'm more concerned that we never act like that than I am that they were. Agreed. How long has it been since it looked like the players enjoyed themselves and had fun playing the game? They look like they're stuck in dead end jobs in some coal mine someplace because they have a wife and a bunch of kids to support and no other options. So why do they look so miserable and uninterested?
  10. I think Pelini knows the issues. He mentioned his three game disappointment in the offense in his post game presser. The way to fix them is going to be through experience of our youth, continued personnel decisions at each position and strong recruiting. Being disappointed isn't the same as knowing what the problems are and how to fix them. And we have an offense loaded with veterans and experience. So I don't see youth or inexperience as issues with the offense.
  11. Comparing Bo to Callahan is no less ridiculous than comparing him to Osborne. How often do we hear that people also wanted Osborne gone, he almost left to go to Colorado and that we just need to be patient with Bo for another 20 or so years to make sure he's not on the same track as Osborne? No one is saying Bo is as bad as Callahan. But it's striking how badly the teams of both performed in big games against quality competition and how routinely they were embarrassed. As Osborne's quote indicates, that's a sign of deeper and more systemic problems.
  12. Agreed. I don't think he saw this coming. And I don't think he has any clue what the problems are or how to fix them. So he's in a tough spot on a very large stage.
  13. I like the fact that he's honest about how he feels.
  14. We didn't lose because we wore black. We wouldn't have won had we worn red. The color of our uniforms simply had nothing to do with the result on the field.
  15. Good post. The problem isn't a lack of talent, it's a coaching issue. And if Bo can't get it done in Year 6, then it's time to move on.
  16. I'm ready for "The Taylor Martinez Experience" to be over. Time to turn the page and move on.
  17. I'm not sure why we decided that having Martinez wander aimlessly around the backfield before falling down was a better strategy than making a commitment to running the ball. Why not load up and use our stable of talented backs on these guys?
  18. Damn, and just when we had some momentum. That sucks.
  19. How did Martinez miss that throw? Wasn't that like a 3 yard pass?
  20. Is Beck really an improvement over Watson? Is Papuchis really an improvement over Cosgrove? I'm not sure anymore.
  21. Four TDs in the 3rd quarter. They're at 296 passing yards and 146 rushing yards, for a total of 442.
