  1. I used to have this problem. Every time I put out the giant blow-up "Little Red," we would lose. He lasted four games, never went back up. I should probably track that thing down and burn it.
  2. Exactly. Thank you seniors for the time and effort you put into the Nebraska football program. Good luck in the future.
  3. It is agenda that ANOTHER coach said something bad about the fanbase? Are you really blaming the media for this right now? I am not defending Beck about what he said. If the OWH wants to put out a piece about the toughness of T.Mart, then fine. Don't label it something and then spend the majority of the article talking about the divide between the fans and the team. That is an agenda.
  4. Here is the spin: article saluting the toughness of Taylor Martinez by the coaches, and then said article spends the majority of the piece detailing the supposed divide between the team and the fans. Talk about agenda.
  5. Just another hit piece from the OWH. They need to keep the controversy going so they take quotes from tv reporters and others and then spin them into this. How else are they to sell newspaper subscriptions?
  6. I think a blow-out loss to Iowa, and a blow-out loss in the bowl would make it tough for Bo to stay. I think we beat Iowa though. I like the way we are playing. I have ridden this ride before though, so who knows what will happen. Go Big Red.
  7. I remember thinking during Callahan's last season that it sure did stink to have losing seasons and how wonderful it used to be to have at least nine win seasons. That's all I cared about at that point in time, wanting Nebraska to return to it's winning ways. Well, here we are six years later. Winning at least nine a year, sometimes ten. And I find myself getting miffed every time we lose a game for unexplainable reasons. Then all I have to do is think about Callahan again, and what it was like to have a team give up on a season, and what it was like to have the first losing season in forever. I would say you are right here. At least about the part of being afraid to move forward. I can however admit things could be better. But I can also think back to the Callahan years and KNOW that things could definitely be worse.
  8. Ron Kellog. He is definitely the starter now. He is an excellent passer and showed today at times he can be a decent runner when necessary.
  9. I would think that if he gets it figured out, and wins some championships, and finally settles into the HC role, he would be more likely to stay. He would have everything in place to be competitive year in and year out. I think that if he were to leave, on his own accord, it would be sooner rather than later. Say he pulls out another 9-4 or 10-3 season, not great, but not bad either. If I were him, I would certainly consider an offer from another school after the turmoil of this season.
  10. ". . . But as he clarified a few moments later, the standard is not conference championships. "It's national championships," he said." This is the best part of the article. I think we are closer than a lot of people realize. I would really like to see how this plays out with Bo at the helm next year. Even with the unexplainable losses, it seems like our main problem has been finding out how to play in the B1G. Specifically, how to play defense in the B1G. Hopefully we have have turned it around, and have figured out our identity defensively. Now, we just need to hang on to the ball, and win the next two.
  11. Imagine if everyone played football this way. Then all of the sudden a crazy coach decided he was going to punt the ball. I bet he would win a lot of games. It's still a very interesting idea though.
  12. I wonder if his philosophy would change with a big time punter on his team. Very interesting though.
  13. What get's old is people outside of the program dictating what our expectations should be regarding Nebraska football. Nebraska has always been a northern, unpopulated state with limited recruits. What sets us apart from others is not the fact that we used to be on TV more than everyone else. It was the Nebraska work ethic and the incredible player development that set us apart. And I would like to think it is still that way today. We have strayed a little bit, but not much, and hopefully we are right back on track.
  14. I watched FSU destroy both Miami and Clemson. Miami probably wasn't deserving of their ranking, but Clemson is a good team. SEC does not deserve the bias they get. The top teams of the SEC are pretty good, the rest of the conference is like everybody else. The only difference is they have their middle tier teams ranked and everyone else doesn't. This gives them a strength of schedule advantage over everyone else and keeps ESPN's investment safe. I will say that the SEC is a very tight conference. But it's ridiculous to say that a 3 loss Georgia team is ranked, this team jumps into the standings after pummeling Appalachian St.? After losing to Vanderbilt?
  15. Good article. SEC bias is alive and well, but you'll never get ESPN/ABC to admit it. The middling teams of the SEC hold up the top tier teams with the bias in the rankings. The top-end teams of the SEC though are having a great run, and it will eventually end. I believe probably this year, as I don't see anyone beating Florida St. if they continue to play the way that they have.
  16. Someone has to hold up the house of cards that is the SEC strength of schedule. Otherwise the whole thing falls apart.
  17. Free Press Article Yet he still moves MSU up a spot in his ballot on a bye week. Talk about writing one thing and then doing another.
  18. Maybe because this is the same defense that let perennial juggernauts Wyoming, SDSU, and Minnesota run all over us? Or maybe because Michigan has an even bigger problem with O-Line injuries than we do? Or because our defensive performance has been up and down more than a Texass Cheerleader on a Booster of substance? Take your pick, but respect is earned, not given. MSU has been more impressive this season so far. Once we beat MSU, the respect and hindsight will catch up accordingly. I agree that our defense has been suspect at times. However, we did the exact same thing to Michigan that MSU did. Our defense deserves some credit for turning things around these last couple of games. They don't deserve this . . . "A Michigan team held for negative rushing yardage in two games? Something is terribly wrong if you can't run the ball against this Nebraska defense."
  19. Or the first half of the tOSU game two years ago. That's true. Forgot about that.
  20. If we win out, I don't see a blow-out coming from anyone. We might lose a close game in the CCG or the bowl. I also thought the same thing last year though, and I was completely wrong.
  21. Couldn't help but hear the boos whenever Michigan went three-and-out. They were loud, and clearly effecting the players. I only remember something like this at Nebraska in the final death throws of the Callahan era at Nebraska. But that wasn't when Nebraska still had a winning record or was still in the mix of winning a big game.
  22. Why is it that when Michigan St. shuts down the Wolverines, they are the greatest defense to walk the earth, and when Nebraska does it, its because Michigan's offense is absolutely terrible? Was watching the BTN final drive and they gave the D little to no credit for the beat down they just handed an offense averaging over 37ppg on their own home field. Can't wait to see what they say next week when we hopefully handle MSU at home.
  23. When momentum shifts in Michigan's favor, we don't completely fall apart (ie. UCLA).
